I admit I always have biased for SHK because Full House is my k-drama ever. During that 12 years of k-drama hiatus I still bought Laneige just because I saw her face on a huge billboard in our local shopping mall here.
Reading comments on naver translated by netizenbuzz really makes me sad. Why k-public have to imply that SHK is the wrong party?? She's been in public eyes twice longer than her soon to be ex husband. Of course who she dated are well known more than her soon to be ex-husband. Don't be a prude lah!
I have some theory and speculation about why they divorce. It has nothing to do with rumour from Chinese websites. If you watch news and read article leading to their wedding it's not a surprise that this marriage will not last unless there are mutual efforts from both SJK-SHK to make it works. They are international celebrities, the pressure are different from plebs like us.
Knowing how serious k-celebs maintain their image, I'm just surprised SJK handle it this way. He's like trying to incite he's been wronged and that's what k-public perceived. Not cool SJK.

Oof. My absolute shock when it was announced that they were getting married is now being met with absolute shock at their split. It's times like this where I'm reminded no matter how level-headed and down to earth I think I am, that even I forget that celebrities are normal people and that normal relationships sometimes end in normal separation. Wish them both them best. A public divorce in Korea can't be easy for either party.

They never had children, the best decision they've ever made since they are divorcing because they do not share common goals.
So the rumours were truth after all. Since February there were rumours about them in Weibo and at some point these rumours started to be spread in South Korea. The noise was too loud, their agencies denied and claimed to be lies at that time.
I imagine rumours of cheating coming up.

Their wedding was such a big deal back in 2017, and they were such a power couple. This is quite the surprise. It seemed like they had everything. Guess we really don't know what's going on with another person. Wish them the best - this is difficult enough, but to do it in the limelight, much more so.

Personaly, I was very surprised when they married. I liked their chemistry on DoS but on BTS some KDrama couples have more chemistry than them. They were like good colleagues. But I was happy for them for their wedding. And now, for their divorce if it's why they need now. I don't need the reasons, it's their private life after all.

This is shocking, huge and also something new! For me atleast. I know divorce is legal in Korea but it's just that I don't know any celebrities who got divorced. I also had this naive assumption that korean celebrities marry at a later age and with the right people. Guess not. This is a reality check. Lol

This is too bad. One of the first K-dramas that I ever saw was FULL HOUSE- So Song Hye-kyo was part of my introduction to these wonderful shows. I had hoped that she had found happiness at last- this simply makes me sad.

What in the what? I was not expecting this to be the news I'd first see after a while out of the k-world. I honestly have no idea what to say or think. Poor everyone. I hope everything goes smoothly for both. :(

The first thing that came to my mind was that I don't trust this industry anymore. And idk why and I am angry that this was the first thing I thought because divorce is such a personal matter and most likely not related to the industry at all. But recently there were rumors of Kim Nam joo and her husband not having a good relationship either and just putting a positive face for the public. Whatsoever, I wish them both well. I'd be a little biased and say that I hope SHK gathers a lot more strength because women and specially her get criticized more in such cases.

This is really sad. Obviously we don't know much about their reasons, but I'm willing to think that constantly being attacked by netizens must have been stressful for them. I hope they're okay.

The least we can do as Beanies is do exactly what they asked. Respecting their privacy and not speculating a THING. They might or not have been a perfect match. They purposefully or accidentally made careless desicions with statements. They might or might not have stopped to think about how this is going to affect their and each others' careers.
Whatever mayhave driven them to their decisions, since it's not anything deserving of public outrage like abuse or stuff, we'll leave it to them. PLUS, it's YET to see whether either one's career is gonna tank because of this, we fans don't need to accuse the other's party. It's stupid if people are gonna combine this with their job and stop supporting them, leading to a war between fans; "My celebrity suffered because of the other! " .
Anyway we can't stop others, we Beanies will continue supporting them, two proffesional actors. My liking and disliking would solely be based on their acting performance.

SJK statement was really in bad taste, speak about adding fuel to a fire. SHK already was a target of hate because she is a few yrs older and was not lilly white virgin before their marriage and now there is more hate and slander throw toward her, not cool SJK, not cool.

I don't freakin' understand why Song Joong-ki's statement is considered as being in bad taste. I mean, I read their statements, both were civil, nothing disrespectful and rude.

Frankly, I found Joong-ki's statement as honest and polite. Are there hidden words that I am not seeing? And why do people say he's got nothing to lose from this matter? What the fucking hell? Just because he's a guy and he's younger? Does that make him more or less of a human? He is part of that relationship, he is also hurt. BOTH of them are suffering.

I haven't noticed from the statement but people are saying he's angry. WHAT THE HECK is the problem if he is? should he be happy then? He is getting a divorce, for Pete's sake.

Their situation is sad and heartbreaking. I don't know the details, I don't know the whys and the hows of their relationship. I don't know what exactly went wrong. Nooooo!!! SongSong couple! That is really sad news. I really liked them as a couple. Sending positive thoughts to both of them. Married life, relationships are never easy. And having the media watch your every move must be even more difficult. Wish the best to both of them.

Advertising industry reports indicate that many endorsement sponsors of SHG are dropping her so there is a financial and reputation damage to each celebrity when there is a divorce.

This story is another reason why shippers of co-stars in dramas should get married in real life need to take a deep breath. It probably adds more pressure on celebrity couples having their relationship under a public microscope.

PEOPLE. Divorces happen. Especially with celebrities!!! Marriage is hard under the best of circumstances, and we can all agree that being married as a celebrity is automatically not the best circumstance. "He seemed angry"...well, yeah. I'm guessing he is. Everyone going through a divorce goes through periods of anger. As a fully formed adult, I realize that placing blame and taking sides...even if there IS blame to go around...is a massive waste of time and energy.

The fact they got married so quickly without knowing each others warts and all may have been a part of it. You can know a person for years and never really know how they gel with your life. This is really sad to hear.

Nobody expected this. I was actually waiting for a baby news but i got this instead. I'm heartbroken and can't imagine what they are going through right now. So let's keep the speculations to a minimum.
