They tend to release the OST after the first episode of the week, so it’s becoming my routine to check the OST of the drama I love.

I just realized in this screenshot that Woon-kwang’s poster is in between them, seemingly side-eyeing Kim Guard, LOL.

I really like that alley scene, that half-smile, he looked kind of sad.

Me too, I felt like in that short moment, he felt something for her and it made him sad.

      1

She was saying all those things about him, “You’re very soft, but at times, you’re very rough….you have a way of drawing people in…” I kind of felt like he was looking at her and thinking, “That’s you…” His whole face softened. I thought for a while that they were so different in the early episodes, and that’s why he’s drawn to her, but the more they show their dynamics, the more similarities I find between the two of them. It’s like he’s such a complex character, but she can see through him, and in the same way, he sees through her tough facade as well. When he was doing the fake break-up scene, he was listing her flaws, and it’s just struck me he did it openly and to her face. He’s normally so discreet and keeps his opinions about a person to himself, like in the case of WK and DH’s father. So, in DH’s case, he’s doing something totally unlike himself again.

I feel the same about Do-ha being able to see through Seol-woo. To me, Do-ha has shown to be perceptive right from the start, that’s why she was able to connect to Woon-kwang (which also had to do with them being at their lowest) and sniffed off Seol-woo’s fishiness. Even though she often arrives at the wrong conclusion, her gut instinct always proven to be right, like when she questioned Seol-woo’s presence among them at first, or when she caught Woon-kwang getting in all sorts of trouble, or when her father showed up again. So, when she told Seol-woo “You’re strange. You are very soft, but at times you are very rough.” I feel like her words actually struck a chord with him, so it made him feel sad. Her words reflected exactly what Seol-woo did, he was playing a mind/love game with her by pulling passive agressive moves, but Do-ha was taking it seriously, and for that, I detected a little guilt in him. By then, Seol-woo probably realized she didn’t deserve everything he put her through.

As for Seol-woo though, I feel like he’s hiding something about his family history, judging by the way he avoided talking about it with Do-ha.I do feel like they shared some similarities that made Seol-woo feel unsettled, especially at the pojangmacha where he told her she had the right to throw away her father, it struck out to me like he had abandonment issue as well. His feelings at this point may or may not be romantic, I can’t be sure really, I keep going back and forth because he’s such in control of his emotions, but Do-ha definitely evokes a sense of protectiveness in Seol-woo.

I know this is only fake romance (for now), but why is this so swoony?

4
2

I didn’t think it was possible to cry and swoon at the same time. Crying because, poor Cha Do-ha is about to get her heart broken so badly but swooning because I love the way they are with each other even if it’s fake on his part.

    0
    1

I know. I feel conflicted most of the time. I couldn’t properly swoon when I know he’s half-faking it.

Everyone can keep the two Park’s, I’ll just take Mr. Lee 😛

    1

Aww, lol. You’re a fan of Lee Si-un? I was touched when Seol-woo said Do-ha is not his style and Mr. Ji jumped to her defense saying she’s pretty and sophisticated, lol. I’m keeping Park Hae-jin since he’s single. *pockets oppa

      1

Unashamedly so! ^^ He’s one of the few actors who I always notice, despite the often inconsequential characters he has to play. I think he’s really underrated, maybe because he gets a lot of not-very-extreme roles. I know he doesn’t really live up to Korean beauty standards, but I still hope he’ll get to be the lead some day 😀

I know, he’s such a sweet and warm character in this drama!

Haha, I’m fine with it, but you may have to go through @azzo first 😉

        1
        2

That’s how I feel for Kim Seul-gi, the girl is adorable and can carry versatile characters but she’s never the lead. I hope one day K-drama will give her a chance to shine.

And shhh, don’t tell azzo and the others I took oppa away, I’ll romance oppa behind their back, secretly and covertly, like a James Bond spy. LOL

          2
          3

She was in Splash Splash Love, right? If so, that’s the only thing I’ve seen her in, but I do see Beanies always hyping her, so at least she’s got DB love? ^^

            0
            0

Yes yes. She’s from Splash Splash Love. I know a lot of beanies love her but she doesn’t have the same amount of love in k-viewers because of her looks. She generally plays second leads or supporting roles. She does take up lead in short dramas but I want more. I hope she gets a good offer one day and reunite with Yoon Du-jun in drama.

That’s a shame. She seemed like such a lovely person on Happy Together, it’d be nice if her career really took off.

No problem. I’ve been waiting for this song since I first heard it in episode 3 when Woon-kwang had his first accident. I don’t want this song for Do-ha and Seol-woo though, it’s too sad, I can’t wait for next episode, but at the same time, I don’t want it to come because I know angst is coming, Seol-woo’s cover is about to be blown. I’m so nervous for everyone right now.

Do-ha should totally show up with this hair in front of Seol-woo one day, and we’ll see if he says she’s not pretty ever again.

3
10

I actually find her pretty even in that haircut! And I was so mad at Seol-woo for saying she isn’t a beauty! Like, please don’t give them a reason to hate on her more!

    2
    1

She is pretty but the hair is not. I wish she’d show up with a long hair just once and shut everyone’s mouth about her hair.

      0
      1

I think it’s the bangs, when she has her hair styled a little differently, she looks pretty!
Maybe if there’s going to be a time skip?

        0
        1

The bangs and the length are equally dreadful. I hope there is a time skip considering Seol-woo is working on a mission, when he gets to the next mission, he won’t be around Do-ha anymore and we’d naturally require a time jump to reunite them. Except, I don’t think it’s happening, lol.

I actually think she and Park Hae Jin look a lot alike. Some of their facial features are pretty similar. Personally neither of their faces are making me go “wow”, but why should they? I like that how she looks actually matches how the characters see her (aka not a goddess-like beauty, but just an ordinary woman).

On a sidenote, I wish dramaland would stop with all the “omg he’s the handsomest man alive” and “ugh she’s so ugly/unfeminine/weird-looking/ordinary” pairings and comments. I’d love to see someone like Lee Si Un (I mean, I find him handsome, but I know he’s not known for his looks lol) in a lead pairing with a gorgeous actress, instead of always the other way around. Or, you know, a couple where both look like people you’d see on street.

That’s the cold hard truth, beauty sells, that’s how Korean market their idols overseas, with their youth and prettiness. And to be honest, general viewers depend on visual for the first impression, that’s how our mind works. We don’t see a pretty person and say “Well, that’s disgusting.”

While I do agree that both of them don’t make me feel like they’re beautiful at a first glance, they’re the kind of people that make me warm up to them over time. But this isn’t really the issue here. My beef is how people make this whole big deal about how unattractive the main female lead is and it turns them off from watching. I don’t get it. Why force yourself to watch something you don’t like and then complain to others? And they ruin the recap or everywhere else I go when I see comments like that. So frustrating!

      0
      1

People do that even on the recaps here? Goodness. Guess it’s a good thing I haven’t been hanging out there.
I’m fine with people complaining about shows (for instance, I can’t NOT finish a show I started, even if it takes a long time and I find it to be a horrible show), after all it’s their choice if they want to continue watching something they don’t like and maybe there’s something else about the show that keep them watching.

But what I’m not okay with is people who DON’T watch, but complain on ep-recaps etc (because how can you complain about something an episode you haven’t seen?) and those who turn to personal attacks. Saying someone displays poor acting skills is one thing, but calling someone ugly is entirely different and also completely irrelevant.

Btw, I find Park Hae Jin to be an excellent actor and really like him overall, attracted or not lol, plus I think the actress is doing a fine job with a poorly written character. They both have a lot of charisma and are very memorable, which in my opinion is much more important as an actor or other type of celeb, than being “pretty”. Tons of pretty people that I’d never in a million years recognize even if I’ve seen them on screen.

        1

I know right? I was surprised to bump into one of those comments about her looks on DB, I figure people will stop complaining her looks by episode 5. I don’t mind reading complaints if it’s in a form of expression thoughts and opinion, but not if it’s done to promote hating or without a reasonable excuse like she’s ugly or needs to be replaced with another prettier actress.

And yes, I like Park Hae-jin and Kim Min-jung, as well as Park Sung-woong in this. I never knew Park Hae-jin is a man of many expressions. I thought his character would be two dimensional and boring but it turns out his spy persona is very much human like every one of us. Do-ha, I have to argue, isn’t quite a poorly written character. She has some crazy tendencies, I’ll give her that, but she’s efficient in her job, she makes mistake but isn’t afraid to admit it and apologize, she’s protective around the people she loves and she forgives even when her father hurt her a lot. But of course, this is purely my point of view. I don’t dislike anyone on this show because they’re showing many facets and layers to their real persona, I’m just hoping the romance will start to be real soon because I hate it when a man deceives a woman, who is all too willing to love him!

Yes, I also don’t get what the looks of an actor/actress has to do with a drama.
I liked her character of Do-Ha since the first episode and think she is doing a great job.
Overall I am enjoying the drama a lot and everyone is doing a wonderful job.😀
