I’m slowly going through past Produce seasons to get the references in PD48. @obsessedmuch is kindly walking me through the whole “Like them and lose them” process. And mnet’s evil editing.

Witch’s Love. It’s so cute please watch T___T I was gonna do Open Threads for it but the tech work piled up so I had to let it go. Now it’s 10 out of 12 episodes aired with no one to squee with.

Oh dear! Is that a Pocky Stick?

Thank you, @mary! I’ll start watching it right away.
The grannys in the background puckering their lips!!! *LOVE!!*

        Just jetlag…
We got back from Japan late on Sunday and I went back to work yesterday.
My head is filled with images and impressions and it will certainly take me a while to sort everything out. I loved, loved, loved our trip. Now I just need to convince my husband that many trips to visit different countries in Asia are necessary.

I’m going to watch the first episode tonight. *hugs*

Oh wow! A trip to Japan :O No, please soak in all the memories first! Dramas can wait *apologies to Drama Gods*

Wow that’s quick! Was just going to put my comment for online grammar check, but never mind ><

Sorry the Hug Me OT is very late 🙁 And yes, we know the beautytap banners are acting weirder than usual. Sorry! We\’re working on it.

I didn’t know there was going to be a Hug Me OT! Even if it’s late, it will surely be in time for when I finally get to the drama ^^; Thank you for the hard work as usual, mary and everyone at DB!

I was feeling terrible today but looking at my fanwall and the Poetry a Day gifs (and Kim Kang-woo rapping) made me smile. So, keep posting stuff you like on your wall and visit it when you\’re sad! :\’

Kim Kang-woo rapping always lifts my spirits. I hope your day and your spirits get better. 🙂

That’s kinda the main reason why I post so much stuff on the fan wall. 👍🙏

I love looking at my fan wall to be reminded of my moments of Peak Temporary Insanity.

But I also have bookmarked another person’s fanwall post. It’s one featuring a lot of Beanie hugging over sunken ships and it cheers me up no end when I’m feel down.

Come Here and Hug Me is great…

(I haven\’t checked out Lawless Lawyer yet)

It is amazing. So calm yet completely intriguing.

    3
    1

Yes, for a show that’s considered a melodrama, it is not dramatic nor manipulative in wringing emotions. Much of the credit goes to the actors playing Na Moo who are beautifully nuanced yet absolutely heartbreaking.

      5
      1

I agree both Nam Da Reum and Jang ki Yong are doing great conveying very subtle emotions. However, I will also credit the overall calm ambiance to the pd and obv the writer. There are little things, like no extra bgm or even songs (I haven’t heard a single song in the show), no shouting and even the female lead has been through a lot she is unlike all kdrama damsel in distress fl.

Shout out to Chief Yang who got stuck between the Ye Line and suffered so much this week.

30

I loved this whole damn sequence! Lol Chief is a sweetheart though. And like literally everyone else on this cast he has grown on me and now I would hate for him to leave!

    3
    1

Is it weird that when Ye drunkenly admitted “I thought it was the right thing to do so I declined, but my heart hurts”, my first reaction was to whoop in laughter cause Chief Yang’s gonna think it’s his fault again? 🤣

      3
      1

Then I’m weird too. I whooped in laughter while getting all teary-eyed. This drama really like to mess with my emotion.

If we have the same taste in shows, you might like Our Times. It’s a TW-movie from a couple years back. (Warning: the official MV is spoilery. But it’s packed with feels and made me obsess over the movie months before the actual screening.)

OMO! I just found out that not only Tao Ming se was on it, my other favorite from return of the Condor Heroes Yang Guo (Andy Lau) was also there 😂
Definitely gotta watch this for sentimental reason alone…

Did the producer plan to make three generation go to watch the movie by casting both Andy Lau and Jerry Yan? 😂

    Close your eyes
    Picture your favorite place
    The sun is setting
The wind is ruffling your hair
    .
    .
    Someone sits next to you
    And your eyes slide open
to see Dr. Ye lean close
    and with his long fingers
push your hair behind your ear

    Ooops, sorry.

Shout out to Nam-woo, the bestest buddy ever. (In this, there are no conflicts!)

7

I love how devoted he is to his alligator. :D*

    11
    1

Even when he’s super giddy or super guilty, it doesn’t matter what’s happening, there’s a part of his brain reserved for watching out for his alligator. It’s so cute but also hurts my heart at the same time to think how much he treasures that shirt.

      12
      1

For ten years! How his alligator is still attached to his shirt is a wonder to me. Or maybe alligator knows how much it is treasured so it’s trying its best to hang on, perfect couple these two.

        6
        1

I love that Min-ho could’ve gifted him another shirt at any point during their friendship but he respects Nam-woo’s pride. (Like when Min-ho wanted him to stay at the cousin’s posh apartment but Nam-woo didn’t want to so he just treated him to a meal instead.)

          6
          1

Exactly the reason why I love him, (among many others) he’s a good and respectful friend to NamWoo.

            3
            0

Hahaha, these two were so adorkable!!! His poor alligator. xD

Shinsun Hospital patients will be so lucky if Nam-woo and Bo-young become regulars. They’re both walking sunbeams and quite competent and dedicated to their work.

      3
      0

I said I wanted Writer-nim to level the playing field but now that it’s leveled MY HEART HURTS SO MUCH FOR THEM ALL. I’d rather sink in one of the ships than be tortured in the Island of Neutrality.

26
6

I hate everything about this preview and episode 9. Ugh my heart hurts! I don’t even think I properly understood the reason why for the whole rejection thing. The flashback was so confusing!

    0
    1

He was guilty about leaving his father figure sunbae to suffer alone in that hospital, because he chose to leave for personal reasons. Now he thinks that being in a relationship at work complicates things. If he doesn’t enter into one, he can keep on protecting patients or supporting sunbaes or whatever it is Super Doctors do. That’s why he’s built up all these walls at Shinsun Hospital.

But (I think) his heart was healing normally, just enjoying spending time with Bo-young and not forcing anything… until the encounter with ex-gf reminded him of the pain and hardened his resolution to never like someone at work again. I hope he suffers for rejecting Bo-young. Hahahahaha

      4
      2

Ugh! I can just feel all the angst coming in next episode. 🙁 But Dr.Ye is kind of an idiot if he thinks he can just be at that hospital and not form relationships. Everyone in that hospital is all up in every one else’s business, all the freaking time! Its what makes them awesome! He better own up to his stupid mistake next episode and make up to Bo-young. Preferably with a cheese-tastic confession! Maybe he can organize a flash mob! 😛

        2
        1

I’d love to see THAT! I’d even settle for a Dr Ye flashmob in Bo-young’s or Nam-woo’s imagination, as long as they get Lee Joon-hyuk to do it.

          1
          0

I hope he suffers too, at this point I don’t care who Bo Young ends up with as long as the drama ends with her happy 😁

        2
        1

Haha yes I’m eyeing the Min-ho ship again after ep9, on account of him NOT making our Bo-young cry.

OMG @saya‘S POETRY RECAP IS HERE

    The Ye-cap!

    5
    1

I LOVE THAT NAME (but the BoHo liners will kill us if we call it that haha)

      6
      1

😂 We won’t kill you! The majority of the BoHo’s I know adore Dr Ye, myself included.

And I’m not sure if we call ourselves a “line”. 🤔 I think we may just exist on our ship? I dunno, I’d have to check with our captain @raonah.

        5
        2

I saw Min-ho inside the Ye Line, he said he was trying to cut the engine but ended up putting us on turbo boost…

          13
          1

The green monster turned him to a fool besides he didn’t study much to know how to cut the engine 😂😂😂😂😂

            0

@bammsie You are correct. We are not a line, we are a ship 🙂
I have warmed up to Dr. Ye in recent episodes but I’m still definitely on the MinHoYoung 🛳

          6

JUST MARRY HER ALREADY

27
16

Based on the preview, we’ll get a confession next week, followed by a proposal, then shopping for wedding clothes and Bo Young’s ‘I do’. They will live happily ever after.

    11
    2

I feel like if you don’t want a broken heart, you gotta read the signs and move to BoHo ship.

But Dr. Ye and Bo-young are so perfect for each other that I don’t know how anyone can stop themselves from falling for this awkward pair who loves poetry. T_____T

      13
      3

I am already used to the idea that at the end, we would make a post only for Ye Liners, where we would be whining and writing angry rents on Boyoungs choice.

        3
        1

Oh no haha I don’t want that to happen. I like her so much ;___; I feel like she’s my baby sister. Maybe that’s why I don’t want to give her away to the jerk who keeps pulling her pigtails.

          8
          1

Min-ho says hideous but means cute. He just needs to be true with himself. But do I wait for him to grow up instead of worshipping Ye when in real life I would not tolerate it?

            2
            0

Yeah. Deep down in my gut I feel the same. But I can’t accept it:/ They’re perfect for each other and also Ye understands Bo Young a lot more than Min ho. I think couples should have a shared understanding first… not just jealousy on top of immaturity! 😑

        11
        1

Very much agreed! I know dramaland likes to push the narrative that “He fell in love with you despite you having the kind of traits he hates in others” — but what’s wrong with a straightforward romance between two people of the same temperament?

I’ll be thankful if Minho’s love for Boyoung pushed him to be a better person and helps him get over his shitty family, but that’s it. Hehe

          9
          1

Exactly. There’s nothing wrong with a straightforward romance. I guess what puts some people off is that it’s too mundane (some might find it boring). Whereas when a couple bickers and fights over silly things it’s more ‘exciting’ as it allows them to hurt each other and then heal together… or something. I guess what I’m trying to say is either way is ok and it depends on the person. I think Bo Young is that person for Ye as he is for her. They’re comfortable around each other and she’s already influencing him in small ways! Just look at him giving advice to himself! Soon he’ll be fanning his tears away…

Ha! I’ll say… yeah I’ll be thankful but I guess that’s it? He’s just too childish for me to take him seriously (at this point).

            5
            0

But, but, dramas have been subverting tropes left and right lately. Maybe, Dr. Ye will be the biggest drama subversion yet, and the BoHo ship will sink while Bo Young recites poetry to her new groom on their honeymoon touring literary sites around the globe.

        9
        2

YES YES YES!! Writer-nim, please subvert the shit out of this drama!!!

          6
          0

          I can already imagine the last part *dramatically fans tears* omggg yesss, we need this kind of endgame ;A;

          2
          0

      That’s right @ravennightstar!
This drama is scheduled for a 10-episode run, right? Right? (but then I don’t want it to be over so soon…..ottoke?)

      2
      1

10 episodes left only? 🙁 Wow how does time fly?
I guess we’ll take to rewatch that cute chick chick date scene ever and ever… until we know for sure they’re gonna live happily ever after!

        1
        2

          *over

          0
          0

Haha, I was just making a lame joke that maybe this show ends next week with his confession and the ring (and all the beautiful things you listed.) At last, I believe this is 16-episode show so there is plenty of time for Min-ho to grow up and win Bo-young’s affection.

          1
          1

Omo. I must have misread it. Oops! I didn’t realise we’re already at ep 8! So only 8 left:(
Hahaha that’s right! I’ll be happy even if it’s a dream sequence lol. Then I can ignore the other episodes when Min Ho grows up and acts his age. Lol.
