    Heck yes!!! It’s an excellent banger for sure 😎🔥 Lol I stayed up until 11pm my time to listen to their new EP IMMEDIATELY when it was released – it was worth it!! I’m biased since they’re my favorite group, but this is a great release… I love that ATEEZ’s music is just FUN, and I feel like this has the most dance tracks of any of their recent releases!

Ahh the ending!! That’s got to be one of my favourite proposals ever 😍 Sorry future partners, my expectations are through the stratosphere now 😂

What an absolutely perfect final episode, I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I smiled like a love sick idiot through most of it and although I’m sad to say goodbye now, my heart feels ever so fuzzy and warm. I’ve enjoyed every minute of this drama so much and it’ll definitely be one I’ll rewatch many times over in the future.

I’m sending my sincere gratitude for the cast and crew into the universe, hopefully they feel all the love! 💕

    The moment they off-ed the cabbie I screamed but then also got little scared (like Sun-Jae) what if he comes back. After all his plot armor was pretty much impenetrable till now. Tae Sung’s comment to his father seemed little meta. Like forget about him and just enjoy the fluff.

      I was so scared during that scene that they’d make Taesung be the sacrificial goat, so I had the biggest sigh of relief when they off-ed the cabbie. I was also like you though being a bit 👀 paranoid as to whether he’d suddenly come back (like he somehow got the watch and now was also time travelling lol that’d be a hoot).

        I didn’t like the choice of narrating Queen Charlotte, it’s my least favorite for that. I think they changed too much the FL in the season 2 compared with the book. So I guess the first one is still my favorite.

#LovelyRunner Honestly ep 13 was a ‘reaLLY??’ and then 14 was basically try not to cry challenge (impossible). Literally I’m sure my eyes were just permanently on the verge of tears the entire way through. I kind of get why we introduced this arc, but it was twice the amount of angst and I was just TIRED you guys😭

And at one point I found myself wondering, I love SunSol with all my heart BUT would life maybe be easier and still just as sweet with Taesung?? In a different way maybe but if I had to choose between heartbreaking true love or just stable love that’s not life defining but sweet nonetheless, I think I’d choose the latter….the heart wants what it wants though I suppose.

    Haha I cried a goodish amount these eps 😅 I still loved them, though! For whatever reason, the angst hasn’t been making me anxious yet – I think because sadness has been balanced with sweetness. It’s funny because after finishing ep 14 last night, I was thinking the SAME THING about choices and Tae-sung… IRL (Lol), Tae-sung would be a great choice. The only problem, as LaurenSophie said, is that he’s not Sun-jae 🥲

      I did my book reading trick. I *knew* they were going to pull some shtick. So I saw the ending first. That was the only way I could “survive” watching the episode. 😅

      I’ve been avoiding the fanwall in between episodes (heck, I’m even avoiding YouTube to skip accidental spoilers in video screencaps!), but after watching 13… I liked it! All was to be expected, honestly. We had to have an angst climax first – it is the penultimate week, after all – and I liked how the reveals and emotional beats were paced. Certainly there will be at least one more reset to go. Shades of Hong-jo certainly crossed my mind, too, but most of the main cast here are SO SMART compared to dramaland standards – look at them involving the police right away and keeping their phones charged! Also Tae-sung is my favorite SML of all time and his grownup version is 🔥🔥🔥

            Huh. So after all the warnings and complaints (completely justified, I admit), I’m … kind of okay with this episode. Sure, I had to ignore the tired amusement park trope as well as Sol running alone through the woods in homage to her unnie Hong-jo, but I didn’t have any trouble following the time-travel throughline and I’m not upset about SJ’s watch popping up with another three chances to go back, because there were always two watches – or one watch existing in two timelines – and that had to come into play eventually. Truly I think the comments here lowered my expectations enough that I could just focus on the plot progression, sloppy as it was. Thanks! 😂

            Also, 34-year-old Tae-sung is effin’ 🔥🔥🔥. When it started to snow while he was kneeling in front of Sol, I thought “girl, just grab onto what’s in front of you and don’t look back.”

I say this knowing I’m about to risk the ire of many a Beanie, but I really am such a sucker for a good past life lovers/fated lovers story line. I know I’m getting side eyed right now considering the state of the last few dramas that had this plot point/trope AND how it’s often shoved in as a lazy technique in lieu of actually building the romance properly, BUT honestly no matter how messy the drama is, the minute they have those flashback scenes or mentions of ‘fate’ and ‘past lives’ I’m like AWW THEY FOUND EACH OTHER 😍 😍 😍 😍 and it never gets old. I could’ve (and have tbh) watched countless Korean and Chinese dramas with this trop and I get heart flutters and goosebumps like it’s the first time I’ve ever witnessed the trope in action lol

Currently being inspired by the YouTube edit that someone made of the past lives storyline in Destined With You and I’ve turned into a puddle that completely forgot what a fiasco that drama was overall 🤷‍♀️

    All we have our favorite tropes or kind of situations.
    Mine are “found families”, “fish out of the water” and “one or two of the main characters are alone in the world, no family, no house…”.

    The past life or fated lovers is interesting too, when it’s well made.

      I love a good fish out of the water story too!! I love that K-dramas have something in there for everyone – I think there was a discussion about this in a thread sometime ago about how there were just so many different types of plot in K-dramas, sometimes with plots that you feel like were taken straight from your own imagination and fantasies.

            I know exactly what you mean! It’s crazy how editing changes the way we perceive things (I know it seems like a ‘duh of course it would’ but idk I’m still amazed how much of a big change can be achieved by small edits) – kind of reminds me of that video that was making the rounds a few years ago of how simply changing the music to a Harry Potter movie trailer drastically changed the tone of the whole story.

            I know there’s completed dramas that I’ve watched or have been watching now where I’m like, I’m so glad I’m watching it post it being ‘finished’ because I can definitely see me having a totally different experience if I’d live watched it while it was airing. I think Doom At Your Service is one of those, I watched it after the whole thing finished airing and enjoyed it (recognising the major flaws and all) but I can defs see myself hating it/not enjoying it at all had I watched it while it aired. Maybe has something to do with knowing the ending and subconsciously changing expectations accordingly vs being clueless as to trajectory when live watching?

            That makes a lot of sense. I remember @IsaGC watching Heartbeat towards the end of last year and quite liked it. She also said exactly this that going in when you know where it is headed you watch it accordingly.

            Incidentally I too watched Doom At Your Service post airing and quite liked it.

            I have more and more respect for the directors and editors as they really make the stars shine. This Destined is the drama I want to watch … and it is all there but yes it was a bit of a mess. My strong objection while live watching was – Why is Shin-yu with Hong-jo without breaking up with the ex-gf for what seemed like the longest of time. I know he did break up but she continued to cling till he set her up with the guy she was cheating with and casually exposed them both. I mean the very title says Destined but the drama that I live watched didn’t convince me that it was so … but this little video did. 🤣 So I feel a rewatch with a fresh view may actually improve the drama. Just like our ongoing Our Blooming Youth Community Watch. I swear with this supportive audience I really feel I’m watching a brand new drama. Of course the Crown Prince being played by Park Hyung-sik helps. 😉

    It wasn’t a fiasco! A fiasco is when they promise something and give something else like 49Days or Heartbeat (bitter ends).

    DwY was clearly not a tight story but the end was in alignment with the story and it’s characters.

    I can relate! I feel like after years and years and years of watching dramas— Kdramas and Cdramas alike— I will tend to eye-roll or be completely turned off and made uninterested about a premise and a trope when on paper and in words, but I agree that when it’s done right and done well, I get all warm and fuzzy inside, too!!

Ahh the irony….

So I’m watching Love You Seven Times where the premise is that a fairy and the God of War, tied together by the red string of fate by accident, end up having to through 6 love ‘trials’ through 6 different lifetimes. In their second life, the ML doesn’t know who he is because he drank the amnesia water like he was supposed to but the FL retains full memories of her identity because she tampered with her amnesia water. So she fully knows who she is and that she’s just currently living out a mortal life as part of the trials, but despite this she eventually gets wholly consumed by her current ‘life’ as it goes on.

Me watching this: *scoffs* smh how’d she get so entangled when she KNOWS this isn’t who she really is/this isn’t her real life – it’ll just be a dream for her in the end. Why is she so invested and getting caught up in feels???

Also me like 4 episodes later: crying and blubbering along with the leads as they go through their doomed lovers lifetime, repeatedly forgetting that this is just a mini arc and so the ‘tragic ending’ in this lifetime, is not the end of the actual story. Why does my heart hurt so much though omg.

      Yeah it’s a vibe so far!! It did take a while for me to warm up to the FL and also for the story to really get going (like it picks up around ep 8) but the set design/CGI and costuming has been STUNNING since the start, a visual feast 😍 Keen to hear your thoughts when you get around to it!

@HopefulRomantic I thought of you the moment I watched this performance so had to share! I remember when we were fangirling over the most recent ATEEZ comeback we were saying how much we loved Silver Lights and so badly wanted to see choreo/a live performance. It exists!!

Bless ATEEZ for never failing to give us performances of most of their B-sides. It’s actually so sad how many groups have banger B-sides that never see the stage lights or get any sort of immortalisation in chores 😭

        Taeyong is so cool!! Really enjoyed his most recent album, too. Yes so far all the ATEEZ comebacks have been AWESOME and I’m so excited for the next one!!! Haha I even pre-ordered the album 😅

        YAYYYY fangirls for Enhypen!!! They’re probably my second favorite group after ATEEZ! Oooh Scream is really good… I also really love Fatal Trouble. It’s a really cool sounding EP! I’ve been avoiding YouTube to not see Lovely Runner spoilers, so I haven’t seen if they’ve released MVs yet, but I’m sure they’ll be cool!

          Fatal Trouble is v good – there is an MV on the Dark Moon channel, in the same style of One in A Billion’s MV but a little less dynamic because it’s basically just their Webtoon avatars on a moving train and things like the background or what they’re doing in their seats change etc. Still really aesthetic and cool though.

          Pre-ordering is so fun, it’s like past you is gifting future you 😆 I’ve also done the same for a few albums (rip bank account) but it’ll be worth the serotonin when they land in the mailbox heheh

    I LIVED for each and every second other than murderous cabbie of episode 11. Sun-Jae and Tae Sung and In-hyuk were always destined to be friends.

      Ngl I totally didn’t realise I’d redacted the murderous cabbie from my memory of the episode till your comment, so that tells you something….

      I love the friendship, even the small bits here and there with the other college boys were really cute, and some with Taesung and his buddy ✨ I wish we had more of Sol and her bff/other friends too tbh!

OKay no like I was like ahahah yeah me too with this whole trend, but this one genuinely made me like double take – no TRIPLE take – because I’ve watched Waikiki S2 at least three times and I NEVER noticed Byeon Woo-seok??????? 🤯 What on earth?? It’s not even like a, ‘ohh yeah I remember him! Now I know his name!’, it’s more like I genuinely completely missed seeing him there in the first place???????

    I HAD THE SAME THOUGHT. I looked at his list of cameos, and was baffled that I couldn’t remember “him” in those dramas, even if I could remember the roles. How could I not recognize across dramas anyone so tall and handsome?? 😂

    i had this thought about 20th century girl..

    i watched it when it released.. i freaking remember everything about that movie…even the ML and his entire journey and last video and all… but still just could not remember him as BW or associate his face with that… only now when it came up, i still had to go back and check.. still blank in my memories..
    or romance youth drama with bo gum…

    the only thing i conclusively remember him in is that weird s2 of strong girl

    I don’t know what kind of directors he has been working with 😀

      Yessss this feeling exactly!!! How trippy and freaky is that!! It’s even more 🤯 when you can really recall just about everything BUT someone or something – even wilder when he’s the ML and your brain just cropped him out of your memories 😂

      I know objectively that human brains aren’t exactly 100% reliable but these sorts of things really hammer that point home and now I’m wondering what and who else I’ve missed hahahah 😆

          His cameos were “blink and you’ll miss them” cameos. He never detracted from the maim leads or even tried to—his job was to blend in and he did.
