I finished binge watching White Christmas. I really liked it, I found it somehow different than most Korean dramas. It was dark, edgy, cynical and beautifully shot. The cryptic letter our characters received was especially dark almost disturbing but nonetheless very compelling. I included it in the comments.
It’s an early work of Kim Woo Bin (whom I miss so much and hope for his complete recovery), Sung Joon, Esom, Kim Young Kwang, Lee Soo-hyuk, Hong Jong-Hyun.
“I kept thinking about it. When did it all begin?
You tainted me, made me pitiful.
You made me a monster in the corner.
You silenced me.
You ridiculed my false hopes.
You took the only thing I had and put it around your neck.
I held out my hand and you let go.
You deleted me from your eyes.
Finally, you overtook me.
Merry Christmas and happy New year.
After 8 days, walk up the path by the zelkova tree.
Under the clock tower, you will see someone dead.
The Night that Jesus was born, I curse you.”
Reply 1997: “We don’t know how life will turn out. There is no way we can avoid it. We just have to face it, and get hurt once in a while. But life sometimes thrills us with unexpected events. And gives us happiness when we overcome hardships. We never know how life will turn out. So we use all our sense to survive it.”
Children of Nobody episode 13. I just finished watching it, I’m left with a heavy heart, with grief. It is such a poignant show, and I salute the show for it’s bold story that people need to be more involved in and the way it is portrayed from different angles while ultimately showing the way.
My thoughts on the girl in the green dress are in the comments.
The girl in the green dress is Se Kyoung we know that now, but I don’t think it’s the same SK as the one who is now bedridden. I think that the girl in the green dress died, and the father adopted another girl (the now bedridden SK) and gave her the same name. The mystery of how she died and how it is related to the stepmother, we have yet to see.
That is also the theory I am going for. As for Red Cry, I was guessing the show would ultimately lead us to Eun-ho, but I really didn’t want it to be him. Eun-ho seemed like the child that was the most lost in the entire drama, and I wanted somebody to save his heart before it was too late. And now I fear that Eun-ho’s redemption in life will be destroyed.
I guess that is what makes the show so tragic: what cruelty and abuse can make their victims do, and this message is more profound because Eun-ho had an innocent, delicate and childlike heart.

\”I\’m a coward
I\’m like a child swinging punches in the air with closed eyes
Like a dog barking out of fear
I\’m a coward
I\’m always afraid
Everything unfamiliar feels strange
Everything strange becomes scary
And so … what\’s unfamiliar becomes something scary that I must avoid
I\’m scared again
That I\’ll look unfamiliar to others, strange to others
So, I\’m desperately trying to be like everyone else
I\’m scared again
That someone will get hurt by the punch
I throw with eyes closed
And I\’m scared that I might not be the good person that I think I am\”
Now that’s how you ruin your crush’s blind date 😂😂😂 I love this show!! It’s so funny and heartfelt. Ma Dol’s proposal was so sweet. Why the heck did unicornshi have to come to the island?!
This has to be the first ever cross dressing proposal!
Just love this drama, full of usual tropes but yet so unpretentiously refreshing. All cast members are gems on their own, down to the little boy that laser-cuts into gramma’s action.
MOH: Seriously what is the purpose of Hee Joo\’s \”family friend\”?! Who the hell does he think he is?! How dare he push her like that and TWICE! She should have slapped him straight in the face not stood there watching!! Why the hell does she keep him around?! My disappointment in her character just went on whole new level this episode. Halmoni please hit him harder next time and kick him out for good.
A doormat needs to be stepped on otherwise it’s useless.
On a serious note, dysfunctional relationships like this have been portrayed in dramas but what gets my goat is that I’m quite sure the writer meant to portray Hee Joo as a trusting, loyal and super nice gal. That’s why she lets this prick control her life back in Granada, bring him over to Seoul and continue to have him lord over her. Or maybe writer nim still thinks a woman must have a man in her life. If not a boyfriend then a guy friend to make decisions for her.
While watching scenes like this, i always wonder why drama characters do not move away from whatever that is being poured/splashed on them. Especially when it is poured very slowly like Mihyang did here. Wouldn’t people instinctively move away? Hahaha
I think they do this to exaggerate what an absolutely horrible person she is: a woman who even uses the most sensitive and powerful parts of other women.
Even her secretary looked a little repulsed by her.
Eeeewewee. How do you even get that much breast milk? But honestly as a bf mom, i think breast milk has a funky smell. Wouldnt want to bathe in it – whenever it stains my clothes i feel like i smell terribls & my clothes need extra soaking before washing
Honestly this was the only part of the story that felt weak to me. The injured cop wasn’t in critical danger, why did both other cops stay with him, and why did nobody cover the other end of the tunnel as JH had ordered…? I’m not gonna complain about why didn’t they plant a tracker in the envelope because we don’t know if they did or didn’t.
I will see it next episode before complaining along with you!
But man this ending! Do you think the red cry is wearing a mask? And that is the face of a good/nice/kind person?
Exactly my thought. Seems like he is wearing mask. Maybe a popular good person face, either a character or an actual person who always represents kindness, which is why Ha-na kept emphasizing the same thing.
