🎉🎉✨✨Happy New Year Beanies!! 🎉🎉✨✨

Here’s my 2021 completed list.

Not much K-Dramas again, but I enjoyed #YouthOfMay and #InspectorKoo among my list. C-Dramas continued to be my kind of dramas. This year gave me quite a lot of OTP that didn’t have angsty breakups! I was very happy about that! Mi Ka and Captain from #YouAreMyHero, Yang Yang and An An from #MyFatedBoy, Yi Yi and Bei Shang from #ToFlyWithYou to name a few. I loved that they talked throughout the series what their issues were like two adults and supported each other through and through. I hope this trend continues in 2022!

Here’s what’s left on my 2021 watchlist.

I have unfortunately dropped 78 shows in 2021. 😭😭😭 My overall dropped list is as many as my completed dramas. 😭😭😭

Thank you beanies for being my drama watch buddies again in 2021. It’s always fun live watching, spazzing and discussing dramas with you. I love you all. 💖 💖 💖 Here’s to hoping we will get more awesome 2022 dramas! 🥰 🥰 🥰

Yayy Fams. I saw how conveniently you didn’t mention DOBY as if it never happened after taking the bullet for us 😝 But yeh YAMH and MFB were great, I guess I need to watch Fly with you too.

DOBY? 🥴What DOBY 🥲 To Fly With You had better writing that Skate Into Love. It focused more on trainings and sports. And the romance was super cute! Wang An Yu 🤩🤩🤩

Recently Finished – #YouAreMyHero

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Beanies, I have finished yet another great show. I am so sad to say goodbye to the amazing Captain Swoony and Dr. Mi! 😭😭😭😭😭 When I first heard #YouAreMyHero was coming out, I thought it would be just one of the many modern romcom cdramas I would check episode 1 out and get over with but lo and behold! The show grabbed my heart and squeezed it sooo tightly, it gave me so much hearts, smiles, and squeesss.

#YouAreMyHero is about Captain Xing Ke Lei and Doctor Mi Ka. Two awesome people meet and fall in love. It’s your typical romcom but I really enjoyed watching their love story progressed and grew overtime – how they met, how they started crushing on each other, how they started dating, how they juggled between work and dating. I really like that the story focused not only on their romance but also their lives outside romance. They are two very busy people trying to find time to date.

This drama is 40 episode long and I dreaded so much how I was loving each and every episode, it was gonna go stupid on me and make Captain and Mi Ka do dumb things like angsty break up. BUT! No angst between OTP! Like! How is that possible! But it did happen! Thank you, show! You had some stupid unnecessary plots, I admit, but you continued to make OTP strong amidst those unnecessary plots!

I tell you, Captain and Mi Ka have one of the healthiest relationships I have ever seen in dramas. Such OTP goals. They are so strong together. They’re legit together through thick and thin and against all odds. You just watch these two people fall in love and talk about their problems. I am so glad this show proved that we didn’t need angsty break up to produce a great drama.

I have no words left. I will miss you Captain Xing and Doctor Mi! I know I will have a hard time finding another great OTP like you again but I wish this will open up more doors to seeing dramas with healthy OTP relationships. Writer-nims, it is possible yknow!

This OTP! One of my favs!!! This proves you can have an awesome drama without making the OTP go through stupid angst.

Also, Mi Ka and Captain are so amazing. He is a badass Special Forces Police but he was so nurturing and caring and kind and so cute and awkward and shy with Mi Ka. He wasn’t that obnoxious macho man who has to show how manly he is to the FL. He showed his vulnerable and awkward side to Mi Ka without reservation. And Mi Ka was always so steady and resolute and professional but also cute and sweet. She didn’t let her love life get in the way of her profession and her dreams. She was badass for totally different reasons. Together they made such an awesome and powerful couple. Also, they actually talk things out and discuss and tell the other when they are upset with something the other did and are willing to admit their faults and grow. Ugh this drama so good 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰

😭😭😭😭 Yes. Captain has a great commanding presence but that’s just one of his many personalities! He’s got a high EQ as well. He has got no ego. He can say sorry when he makes mistakes and can share his vulnerability when he has inner struggles.

I love seeing Mi Ka’s growth. From this girl who was terrified with life and death situation, after experiencing this many times, she grew to be calm and collected whenever situations arise.

Such powerful couple indeed. Uri Super OTP🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

        1
        1

He isn’t as bad as y’all think. A bit arrogant in the beginning & childish in eps 13-16, but still pretty much expected given his character & situation in life. Elite gamer BJ & first timer in romance.

Okay fine I’m only spazzing cz of his smirk okay.

4 episodes left for me but they are so healthy that they are ulmost unbelivable. I would totally appreciate more angst free, understanding, cute and equally goofy OTP like them. This show overall doesn’t do wonders for me, in terms of the story around the professions and the other pairs but this OTP was a rare, delightful gem.

      Almost * unbelievable *
      Ulmost unbelivable works too lol.

I am not a big fan of 2nd OTP. Wenbo is dum dum af (I FF their scenes, but I am enjoying 3rd OTP a lot. Dr Shao and Jiejie’s find your way back to love story is cute and I wish the story focused on them more instead of 2nd OTP! I am so glad of Dr Shao’s character. I was worried he would be a love triangle to the OTP but nope, he just genuinely likes Mi Ka because he sees so much potential in her and that he’s got his own romance.

Like everyone I love that they communicate honestly and don’t have stupid misunderstandings. So many times dramas just go the silent assumption->escalation of angst and drag and drag the relationship, but not this OTP. I love the couple’s dynamic – our ML Captain is such a softie – but sly (his coincidences!) – but clumsy – just so adorkable. Plus he cooks and cleans and this already puts him way ahead of so many drama MLs. FL Mi Ka is a charming combination of cool and level-headed and warm and mischievous. They also are really admirable people on their own who are passionate about their careers. The actor and actress did a wonderful job – their acting so real and natural half of the time it feels like watching non-scripted behind-the-scenes. All in all I’m so glad we have this rom com for 2021 <3<3<3

Gigi 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I am really hoping, 2021 and all that we would get more of these kind of healthy and strong OTPs. They’ve total raised the bar of the kind of OTP I am looking for. :somanytears: :somanytears: :somanytears:

And I totally agree! Sandra and Good are such great actors. Their chemistry are so natural. It totally erased my memory of Good in Irreplaceable Love which I detest and repelled. He can act indeed.

Easily the best cdrama romcom I have watched ever, and it becomes my new gateway recommendation for this genre.

My favourite aspect of the show was the title and how that played out – the use of the word “hero” can be misconstrued as referring only to the ML, but in fact, the show showed us over and over again of how both were “heroes” to each other, AND everyone else around them.

I started this for Sandra, and with no expectations. I loved her in this role, but discovered loved Bai Jingting too. Their scenes together were like two best friends talking, they were so easygoing and normal and natural about everything, it was hard to think of it as acting.

There were other pairings I really enjoyed watching – the friendship between Mi Ka and Xia, the OTP between Dr Shao and Keyao, the ducklings, the SML for the 2OTP (even though he was a jerk, he did a good job with his material). The action scenes were really well done for a drama, and almost cinematic in quality. I’d love to see this become the baseline for future dramas that use action.

More than anything else, I really REALLY enjoyed watching this show will all of you!!! You increased my enjoyment exponentially, in ways that I cannot describe. I hope dramaworlds and dramagods give us more such opportunities to spazz together 💕 Thank you muchlots!!

Very interesting point, Pickle! The title indeed is referencing who they are to each other. Their “hero”. And I did like that Captain mentioned how grateful he is that Mi Ka saves him not only once but twice and how humbled he is by this fact.

      :tears: :tears: :tears:

Thank you for spazzing with us, Pickle! Show becomes 1000000000x more interesting because we group watch and laugh at the same time!!! Till next crack drama! :cheer:

Famy! Thank you for telling me to watch this! I have been totally obsessed over the last two weeks – a total happy pill of a drama. I love how Captain would go from intense SWAT officer to a total fumbling softie in front of Mi Ka. Just how incredibly caring and attentive he was towards her from the smallest, simple actions to big grand gestures was totally swoony. And Mi Ka! I love her! She is determined and knows how to face her fears. Her genuine attitude towards bettering herself as both a doctor and person is wonderful. And her ability to keep calm and challenge herself under pressure is so great. I’m going to be so sad when I finish these last couple of episodes I have left.

Fini!!!! You’ve finished!!! 🤩🤩🤩 Sorry I just noticed my reply is almost a month late🙊🙊🙊 I just opened DB now. And yes Captain is such a chameleon. And I really love how he doesn’t see it as a weakness to be vulnerable in front of the woman he loves.

By now I assume you’ve seen the last episode and I am just so so proud of Mi Ka’s growth. It came full circle. On ep 1, she was ugly sobbing being a hostage and blabbering in panic but she was soooo calm and collected in the last arc of You Are My Hero. She grew so much with all the life death experiences she had had.

OTP def has one of the best healthy relationships ever. I wish to see more of this kind of OTPs in our dramas. Well theyre a rare gem of course! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I miss seeing your lengthy fangirl posts on DB, Fams. I haven’t watched the last two eps because I DON’T WANT IT TO END!!! I’m saving it for a special day so I can spend it happily. I love this drama so much too. I’m so happy I listened to you and to uri Discord Beanies. Thinking about this drama makes me smile. AYIEEE!
Captain has my heart but I think I love Mika more!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

I LOVED IT I NEED MORE!!!

I didn’t even feel like eps 31-35 were meh, I felt like they were very important to show how multi faceted irl ships are. Many people fail in their relationships due to one person’s history with other people. Many people don’t recognise the sacrifice, patience & hardwork their partners put in to maintain a harmonious relationship among everyone. This was a much needed hurdle & our OTP passed with flying colours.

Also where do you get dramas that accept & love a non stick thin body type & show how lovable that person is, not inspite of their body but because of it?

No makeover, no big fuss. I forgive the school girl socks & shoes.

Also Jie & Dr Shao were frigging awesome. Supportive mentor & family for the win!

I just didn’t like how the sisters plot totally came out of no where. The arc of smuggler and son felt more in line with the drama because it’s about crime and what not. Anyways as you’ve mentioned even with the sisters plot, I liked how OTP’s relationship grew.

Missing Tracy and Dr Shao as well! 😭😭😭😭

🥳🎉🎉 Happy New Year, lovely beanies!!! 🥳🎉🎉

Here is a snapshot of what dramas I have seen in 2020:

2020 continued to be the year of C-Dramas for me. Skate into Love, The Romance of Tiger and Rose, Cross Fire, and Someday or One Day were the crack dramas for me in 2020. Unfortunately, Someday or One Day was marked as a 2019 show on MDL (started November 2019, ended in 2020), so I wasn’t able to capture it on here. Good thing MDL made a separate page for the special episode and it somehow made my 2020 list!!! 🤩 🤩

I only finished four K-Dramas this year (and no, I did not count the short webdramas I saw on YT) 😭 😭

I have dropped 52 shows 😭 😭 😭

2020 also had me appreciating and obsessing over new Taiwanese and Chinese boys – Greg Hsu, Ryan Ding, Leo Wu.

Looking forward to the 2021 crack dramas and to discovering new talents!

Here are what’s left on my 2020 watchlist.

I tried watching Begin Again, but I find it sort of absurd. Also, its jarring hearing the dub over Gong Jun’s voice.

I stopped somewhere on ep 2 😂😂😂 Ngl, Simon Gong is … such a wooden actor.😣 Beautiful face but wooden. I think I will be dropping this show.

Yeah, I think he’s good-looking and has a nice voice, but I don’t think he’s a particularly good actor. The actress playing the FL in Begin Again is good, but I found the story of the show just too absurd.

Currently Watching – #ForeverLove

I am liking this new show a lot! I hope it continues to be good. So far, 12 episodes I have seen, it has got my heart.

Forever Love is a coming of age drama. It spans from highschool up to their wedding ceremony. The first four episodes has prologues of their wedding ceremony and then the story takes us back in time to how they met and their love story began.

A refreshing bit about this drama is the female lead is the top of her class! And how she is outgoing and can put her foot down when she means no. She is absolutely gorgeous too!

I am also glad that male lead is not an ahole either! Wang An Yu is super hot. 🤤🤤🤤 *I am swimming in the WAY puddle…Yes, it’s deep* I love how their highschool was spent in growing and getting to know each other even though they only met in their senior year. A lot of things can happen in such a short amount of time – you meet people who will change you, you meet people and change their lives. Looking forward to see more of their growth as they slowly go into the real world.

I upvoted in sympathy! I have zero gif skills. 😂

Both of your posts are luring me to try this… I especially like the part about the female lead being top of her class. Too often in school dramas the heroine is a dunce, why?

        3
        2

Which is pretty opposite to real life. All my school life, I have noticed from the top 10 students, 6 to 7 would be girls and in most classes top 3 would be girls.
I think that’s just another way to make the female lead inferior to the male lead. Surprisingly candy’s are usually good in school.

          2
          0

My same question, Toki! Though I honestly don’t have any issue if female lead is not book smart as I am more concerned about them being street smart and won’t embarrass me as a fellow female, it’s always a great watch if girls in the drama are topping ranks wherever they go. And that’s what female lead is to me. She’s just so great and the thing is, she’s not… Yknow genius. She works hard and studies a lot to get to the top 🥰🥰🥰🥰

OTP is great in this show, I just wish the side characters are equally great 😡

          2
          0

😂😂😂😂😂 sorry late reply! Not sure if you have started it yet but on ep 18 I am liking it less. I mean OTP remains soooo cute. I am in love with the female lead. She’s everything I want for a female lead – smart, works hard to get to the top, knows when to put her foot down and say no. And Male lead is really good as well! Not ahole and very whipped for her – I won’t blame him. I am in love with her too. But I just wish the people around them aren’t annoying af! They drain my energy.

Lee Do Hyun and his beautiful, precious babies stole my heart and kept squishing it. Like 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭#18Again

Thank you to everyone who kept posting great things about #18Again. I’m halfway of the series late, but I’m all caught up now and my heart is many pieces because of this show. So many likeable characters. Characters who feel so real. They connect to you on many levels. Most of them are not deliberately being evil. They’re just people with real life problems making good and bad decisions.

I love these little epilogues they showed us. A peak into the time they were happy. Even if sometimes life wasn’t so good with them 😭😭😭😭😭

The dad. Ooof the dad! At the beginning we were led to believe he was the best dad in the world. He provided everything to his family. Not just money on the table, but he was there for them. At least that’s what he thought. Or at least at the beginning. And then he slowly saw the untold truth through his family’s lens. He saw his shortcomings one by one. What, where, why, when, and how things have gone the wrong way. The things he didn’t know he had said and done that hurt his family and left a scar.

Episode 8 was sooooooooo good. That scene where he rekindled his relationship with his father. The father he loathed growing up yet he ended up becoming exactly like him to his children 😭😭😭😭😭 It’s funny how life works. 😐

Mom is so awesome in this drama. No words. I hope she continues to be awesome. After putting her life behind for her family, she’s stepping up to live for herself. She doesn’t have it easy, but I love her positivity and sense of righteousness. She’s never felt sorry for her life. Continue to be awesome Da Jung! I love you.

I loved the family scenes in this!!!! Such a heartwarming show! I broke in ep 5, when he finally decided to let her go after figuring out such a grave mistake he committed. He let her go to make her happy. He knew that was no excuse to what came out of his mouth while he was drunk. 😭😭😭😭😭 I love that this drama is legit a healing drama. People made mistakes and they try to redeem themselves……😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

It is a remake of Zac Efron’s 17 again but with that magic that K-drama adds into its story. The poignancy of life. Its take on what families are about. And how beautiful they can be when life isn’t being such a beech. And what makes them dysfunctional. And how can someone repair it. Is it really repairable? 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I really didn’t want to spoil the story for everyone but the only way to write how beautiful this story is on the fanwall is to share bits and pieces of spoilers of this show. Hope you’ll enjoy the ride as much we all did. And I look forward to discussing this show with you! 🤩🤩🤩🤩 Lee Do Hyun is soooooo good in this role. 😭

Just watched ep 1 and I’m in. I’ll have to read the recap for the episode now. I’m asking myself why has it got more going for it than everything else I’m watching now? Don’t get me wrong, I’m watching and enjoying Start-Up, Nine Tailed, Private Lives, Record of Youth, and Do You Like Brahms? – all interspersed with some movies (The Closet was the most recent). I’ve also got some catch up drama on the go too. (Tragic, I know) But thinking about it, I like the idea of Dae-young finding himself in school with his children and marshalling his adult rage to watch over and protect them. At the same time, it’s an eye-opening experience for him. I loved, loved, loved Da-jung’s dance sequence too. Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll check in again after I cover more ground.

Whoooo hoooo! I’m glad you enjoyed ep 1! The pace didn’t start picking up for me until Dae Young became younger and ran into his daughter at the convenience store! I was laughing out loud and then the show grabbed my heart when I saw his son! My heart sank with him at the horrifying thought that his baby son is being bullied in school! No parent could stomach that thought. I am no parent and I felt sick at that. And he’s seeing it in his own eyes!

And the epilogue! Auuuugh! That was auuuuugh 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Da Jung is awesome. You’re gonna like her more each episode 🤩

Anyways I feel you. Too Many shows in so little time! 😣😣😣😣 i wouldn’t have started this gem and known this gem had it not been continuously raved by beanies here on the fanwall!

I’m still behind on this but I’m not sold on this drama. I’m not sure what it wants to say besides being funny or heartwarming. Yesterday I was watching ep 6 and it starts with one woman tripping because of a broken heel so she can get rescued by a guy, a scene almost every romcom has. Right after that another woman trips and also gets rescued and then a girl acts strangely, shaking a big locker, just so another man can save her and get really close because that is always romantic in romcoms.
I know it probably sounds like nitpicking kkk.
I didn’t like how the bullying got dealt with because it’s a wrong message to send.
I was curious about the divorce thing, is it really still a scandal for some people in nowadays Korea? If drama is trying to say something against this why not make some of the nice characters angry about this? Even DY seems to just take it as natural consequence of a divorce.

I think it’s only a “scandal” because anchorwomen in Korea for whatever reason is held up to some ridiculous “pure and proper” image. And I think what this drama is trying to say is…I’m not good with words, but many heartwarming messages about family, especially children-parent relationships across different generations. I recommend checking out dramaoverflower’s analysis, these ladies are much more eloquent than I 🙂

So that would really happen, all those silly comments. I keep thinking kdramas overdo some things just for dramatics but you can never underestimate people’s stupidity kkk. I bet anchormen have plenty of divorces without any scandals. I did watch up to ep 7 and at least the baseball player took a proper stance against this prejudice but he has a romantic interest so it would be better coming from more people.

😆😆😆😆😆 Of course I remember Doku!!! Glad to be spazzing another drama with you! Sadly no cdrama has caught my heart again. Latest I saw was Poisoned Love – it was alright. I liked the OTP a lot despite the plot being .. hmmm. 🤔 lol.

Ryan is currently filming a drama tho! And Lu Si.. well she’s always filming a drama! 😂

Huehhheheh I’m excited to watch tonight’s episode! I loved ep 8 so much. So much feels. This show really has my heart whenever the focus is on the Hong Family!

Yeah!!! Same here! I’m not psyched about Esther Yu but I will watch the new drama with Ryan <3 and I watched a bit of Dating in the Kitchen with Lusi (indeed she has 1000000 dramas out and about to be out lol), it was cute but the lack of plot means I always forget to keep watching. I'm about to scan tonight's ep raw while waiting for sub tomorrow!!! Can't wait to spazz together once more! <3

I dropped Dating in the Kitchen 😅 I loved that it is food porn but yeah I could stick around. I dropped it even before I met his mom. I heard not so many great things about her and his former Secretary.

Finished watching episode 9. Oofff can’t wait for Da Jung to put two and two together. I was hoping she would figure it out the earliest because Yknow – she knew his mannerism and how he talks. Just like his dad figured it out just like that, didn’t even doubt because he felt him.

#DoYouLikeBrahms

Episode 8 is great! I think the drama is now finding its momentum. I used to only watch this show for OTP, but I think we are seeing more layered characters now. It seems like not everyone’s purpose is to be just spiteful. I have high hopes that Director Na means well for these students. It looks like we have good dads here too giving advise to their troubled daughters. A prof looks like he means well in training a musician who has lost his motivation and passion. And I am seeing Jung Kyung in a new light. She is sooo bad; it is soooo easy to hate her, but I hope she is redeemable. I hope the drama has something better for in store. I hope this drama becomes that healing drama where musicians from all walks of life are gathered and have found their place in this tight-knit industry.

My OTP bbs 😭😭😭😭😭 I love them through and through. They’re perfectly imperfect. They’re working hard to be better. I love that they fight/talk out their different point of views. It might not end on a good note, but they tried to amend what went wrong with their conversations in a day or two. They always talk even if sometimes it’s hard to bare it all.

Song Ah continues to amaze me for speaking out loud what runs in her head. It’s in her nature, really. She does what she wants, says what she wants even if it is a long shot. She’s going through a lot as that musician with passion yet not talented enough. She is not perfect, but continues to work hard to be the better version of herself. She is very easy to like and relate to.

Joon Young isn’t a man of words. He is so used to bottle everything in. He is too nice and this is what makes him great and why he is so flawed. He wants to please the people he cares about. As Director Cha said, he always puts himself second. Until he met Song Ah, no one knows what he truly feels and what he thinks. In Episode 7 he did something offensive to Song Ah again when she clearly told him not to do that back in episode 3. Don’t cover up for her. This hurts her more. Tell her the truth; she can handle it. His intentions were always good, but they rubbed off the wrong way.

In episode 8, he tried really hard to be that better person. He speaks up, tells her that she, too, matters to him. It’s not a one way street. He has so much baggage with him that it will take some time to unload each of them. He’s trying. He started by telling her how deep his relationship is with his two best friends and how much indebted he feels towards the people who helped him worked his way up in Episode 7.

By the end of Episode 8, the sequence of what he had to say might have been wrong or he could have worded them better, but again words don’t come out easy for him. But he tried really hard for her in this episode, so I forgive his imperfection. And he ended up saying the words he intended to say. He said “I like you” to Song Ah in several ways – from formal to informal to more formal to outmost formal form. He did everything he could to make his voice heard loud and clear. His words and intentions were finally understood.

My OTP is not perfect . But they’re working hard to be the best versions of themselves. So I’m fine with their little mishaps here and there. They’re work-in-progress – learning more about themselves and about each other.

Okay but this is actually cute #DoYouLikeBrahms

He was writing her love notes? And on the second and third notes, he dropped the “sshi” and addressed her casually?????? Like… that is soooo cute. I am waiting for the day they both drop the formality. Hopefully next week! I`m gonna ignore the fact that Jung Kyung picked these love notes up from the trashcan cuz she was nosy af But I need to know what he’s writing love notes to her for!!!! Flirt texting isn’t enough. 😆😆😆 Need to do it the traditional way huh…

Thank you Briian @pinklolipop for pointing it out 🤪🤪🤪🤪 And I guess Kat @katakwasabi too 🙄🙄

I am very positive he didn’t reject her…. like…… this isn’t the look of someone who go rejected…….

And we know Song Ah can’t lie. She would be uncomfortable around him as a friend if he rejected her…………..

      Monday, come fast. 😭😭😭😭😭

I think it’s going to take Joon Young a little longer to catch on and he probably won’t know how to respond but judging by the preview, I think the sequence is definitely switched. He will try to act normal again but then denies that they are dating to Song Ah’s teacher and Song Ah will tell him that he makes her feel bad, Joon Young will rethink about it and then make it official. At least that’s what I hope, because seeing Song Ah sad makes me want to wreck all the pianos in the show.

I was also watching a Korean youtubers review on the episode. The keypad password is 0715 which is both Jung Kyung and Song Ah’s birthay. But the reviewer said, although people might think it’s because of Jung Kyung, the fact that Joon Young has these notes written to Song Ah, it actually feels like the meaning behind the passcode has now changed.

    3
    1

Yes! i think the same too! the meaning of the password change, it isnt about JungKyung anymore. just like Traumerei, I believe this one has change what it means to Joonyoung.

      1
      1

Like another Beanie pointed out, the fact that Joon Young who in the beginning struggled to close the closet door after putting his luggage in it, is now easily able to shut it with ease, it just shows how much has changed. The luggage was a clear sign of the burden that he carried around with him (physically as he traveled alone, and emotionally due to the relationship with Joon Kyung) and the apartment (although temporary) is a place where he can finally call home but also a symbol of his inner space. He was struggling to let go of the emotional burden, hence he had trouble closing that door. But now we can see that he has truly let go. He put the music book that Jung Kyung gave him into the luggage and shut the door with ease, which just shows how far he’s come.

I am OTP deprived. I go through #DoYouLikeBrahms episodes way too fast. For a slow burn drama, an hour seems to fly by. And now I have to wait next week to see my OTP 😭😭😭 I am so so deprived. 😭😭😭😭

I love the smiles they give each other. So comforting. 🥰🥰 My heart feels full that they make each other happy.

I miss them already!! OTP, come back to my screen! Pali!!!!

Sooooo since I`m still not over of what happened at the end of Episode 3, @pinklolipop shared me some bits about how Moonlight Sonata-Happy Birthday piano piece by Joon Young was actually based from an actual pianist performance! I thought that was really cool and whoever that person he was playing that Happy Birthday for was so lucky!

19
7

Okay so that beautiful scene at the end of Episode 3?????? I was reading posts on MDL and they said at the end when Joon Young was playing Moonlight Sonata, he transition the play to Happy Birthday?????

My ears don’t recognize classic music, so I replayed that scene and it did sound like a Happy Birthday melo version. Like OMG that is sooo beautiful. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 My OTP continues to be beautiful. I love them too much!

I`m excited for tonight!! #DoYouLikeBrahms?

I agree. It did sound like the Birthday song towards the end. They’re so cute together. We must protect them at all costs!

It was that moment she stopped and turned her head towards him. I kinda knew the tune changed because it moved her, but I didn’t know what it changed to. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 It does make sense if it was Happy Birthday – she narrated about music being able to relay words that you can’t say out loud 😭😭😭 Joon Young knows about her birthday too 😭😭 #ProtectTheMusicianBabiesAtAllCost

      2

Lolololol and here was me thinking it was obvious (although no less wonderful) that it was Happy Birthday.

        1
        1

I studied some music theory (but I wasn’t trained in classical music but Chinese orchestral music) but even after reading this post and going back to listen, it still wasn’t obvious to me 😅

I think it’s because I can’t hear the melody–I’m bad at identifying music based on the intervals and chord progressions when they’re shuffled around, so if the melody doesn’t retain more of its original form then it’s lost on me.

This is all a very long way of saying: please share how you could tell!

            How could I tell? I don’t know I just… could. I have a good ear I guess hahaha.

It took me a couple of bars to realise it…
But I think it was a combination of hearing something shift in the music (an audio cue), but not really knowing what at first (see below), combined with a visual cue of when she paused, and a narrative cue that they set up prior explaining that he speaks best through music, that meant I knew he’d listened to her request (or perhaps he’d always planned it) and started to play something different and was thus now speakingwith his music.
So I knew to listen for something he was saying through this action.
Then I guess I was actively trying to listen for whatever it was and leading me to realise it was happy birthday.

But what was the initial audio cue? What was it? I actually did a bit of research here haha.
I went back and relistened, and went “is that a key change?”, and because I don’t have perfect pitch, I downloaded an app to find out. And yeah, it modulates.
It changes key, from the key of the Moonlight Sonata (C# Minor) to a Major key (E Major) for Happy Birthday. I think that was a big audio cue for me cos I have a pretty good ear for picking up modulation shifts. I definitely heard that the first time and was like “what’s going on?”, on top of the visual and narrative cues.
Beyond that I don’t really know how to explain how or why I recognised that is was Happy Birthday exactly. It’s definitely an arrangement for the piano and not really how you’d sing it, so maybe that would throw one off.
Maybe it helps that I know Happy Birthday better than the Moonlight Sonata?
Maybe it helps that I’d seen this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2Eotw3IxN4 ?
Maybe I’ve binged way too much of music-theory youtube?
I don’t know how to explain how I recognised the chords. I just did.
It was her birthday, he speaks through music, she likes Moonlight Sonata, she’s just had a horrible reveal dumped on her, he attempted to say Happy Birthday to Jung Kyung, but erased it, he speaks best through music… ergo… “Oh, that’s Happy Birthday and this is a beautiful scene.”

(that I kind of want to break down more now hahaha because it’s actually a really good example of show don’t tell, and using narrative setup and visual and audio storytelling to build and reveal more about characters)

            2
            0

@sicarius Thanks for this essay! (Really, I mean it, it must’ve taken a while to write.) I caught the narrative and visual cues, the key modulation from minor to major and the fact that he was no longer playing Moonlight Sonata, but somehow just didn’t manage to identify the deconstructed Happy Birthday.

But yes, I totally feel the part about showing and not telling. When Joon-young tells Song-ah about the silence he remembers from his first competition at the start of ep 3, he didn’t need to say “I felt incredibly lonely”. That scene went straight to my heart.

(P.S. @13infamyss Sorry for hijacking your post I hope you don’t mind!)

            2
            0

No worries, you’re welcome! I’m sorry I can’t tell you more about why it was obvious to me haha.

Mmm there are some really nice scenes, aren’t there.

            @sicarius

Maybe it helps that I know Happy Birthday better than the Moonlight Sonata?

I’m not sure what to do with the fact that I was able to recognize Moonlight Sonata but not Happy Birthday 😆. Especially since Happy Birthday in Korean is my Covid hand washing song and I’ve sung it in my head a bazillion times since March.
I heard the change in music, but I think I was just assuming he switched to another classical piece and I wasn’t able to think outside of that box. That in combination with the fact that this is a pretty piano version that is not blatantly obvious. After Toki’s post alerted me, I rewatched it and could definitely make out Happy Birthday that time and ahh what a lovely scene!

That video was great btw. LOL.

Recently Finished Drama – #CrossFire

I am sad that this drama doesn’t have official English subs (I watched with horrible subs😭). I didn’t expect this show to be so good, so addicting, so captivating. I went in to get a glimpse of my new bb, Leo Wu 😍, but I ended up staying for the entire 36 episodes and enjoyed the roller coaster ride of emotions I didn’t think Cross Fire would deliver.

Cross Fire is an esports drama that has fantasy element in it that showed us what esports were like during its beginnings (2008) and how much it advanced in the present (2019-2020). It remains a niche industry and still is tough to make a career out of it and that’s how the drama takes us on a ride – go through whatever these characters went through as they chose to be professional gamers.

Esports drama is a new genre for me. #GoGoSquid briefly touched it but many of its esports scenes did not pass censorship and were eventually cut. I warmed up to the video game concept over time. Even if e-sports is not a genre I understand well, Cross Fire has the common themes of camaraderie, teamwork, perseverance, romance, and character growth. There are minor scenes that were suspension of disbelief, but most of the time my heart would feel so proud at the characters’ progress throughout the series. I love the squads that formed! They were not perfect individuals. The squads went through highs and lows of breaking up and making up. But end of the day, they are one team with one goal and one dream.

I will miss you so much 2008 and 2019 squads! Thank you for such a heartwarming show. When you won, I cheered and cried with you. When you lost, my heart broke into pieces with you.

Hopefully Leo Wu would star in another drama I would be interested to see *cough* modern romcom *cough* He’s soo beautiful!! 🤤🤤 And such a great actor! He cries and my heart cries with him! Fun Fact – to anyone who has seen #NirvanaInFire, he was bb Fei Liu!

Tagging – Thank you Haru! @harunomasu for constantly tagging me and spazzing to me about how great Cross Fire was and that made me eager to start it! And @horangi – my spazzmate throughout the show as Haru became busy with work! I love you both! 😘

It’s my pleasure to spazz about the drama with you too, Fam <3

When I first watched it, I'm not sure about the quality too and how good it will be. But we end up getting so obssessed that we do many crazy things because of this drama XD

    Example exhibit A:
Certain person decided to give up sleep and binge-watch from episode 27-36, even though eps30-36 at that time have no subs. So that certain person understand nothing, and yet still cried, lacking sleep, and ended up getting sick

    Example exhibit B:
Certain person didn't get access to sub and ended up becoming a bot to translate the subs manually via Google Translate, and have to cope with bad translation

    Example exhibit C:
Three people now on a withdrawal after the drama ended XD

😂😂😂😂😂 Oh my, Haru! The things we did for Cross Fire. Love knows no limit! Those exhibits were indeed on the extreme end of the spectrum of obsession and loving! 😂😂😂😂

For e-sports Chinese dramas, I’ve heard that Yang Yang’s “The King’s Avatar” is pretty good, too, but I have not watched it myself yet 😉

I heard it was good too though. I`ll see when I can check it out.

King’s Avatar is also very good, but I must admit that I don’t invest as much feeling as I did with Cross Fire. I kinda like Ye Xiu but he’s not my fave (despite him being the main character). King’s Avatar has no romance though, but the friendship theme is really strong. Some of the characters are lacking in depth and some of them are simply just bad for the sake of being bad. It’s understandable since it comes from a 1700+ chapters novel. Ye Xiu is your all-around amazing guy who can do anything in Glory (the game) world. Your usual Gary Stu

Overall, King’s Avatar is really good. I hope you like some of my fave characters from there when you watch them 🙂

I’m so glad I watched this show!! Thanks to @harunomasu for spazzing about it and getting me interested. I was hesitant about the esport subject but I have a thing for time travel shows and while this isn’t true time travel, it does have communication across timelines (a la Signal). The acting and chemistry is great and the plot stays engaging throughout most of the show. It gives me the feeling of a sports anime. If you are into this genre you will no doubt love this show. And if you are not, the show covers themes of youth, passion, dream pursuing, friendship, and teamwork – things we can all relate to or reminisce about. Unless the remaining 4 months of 2020 brings a surprise, I think this will be my favorite drama of the year.

You’re welcome! I’m so glad that it got you interested to watch it 🙂 Sorry for all the nonsensical rambling and spazzing that I do in the beginning m__m

Anywaysss group watching and spazzing with beanies is always fun. Especially if the show is super fun and engaging. The feels are all over 😭😭😭

Auuuugh that’s one of the reasons I didn’t live spazz it here on db, Kudo. Cuz the subs are horrible 😭😭😭 The first two episodes have finally decent subs now on YT, but they haven’t posted anything passed that.

Recently Finished Drama – #LovelyUs

Such a sweet, heartwarming youth drama! 16 episodes. No angst. No noble idiocy. Slice of life done right. This drama hit all the right notes for me. My kind of drama.

Lovely Us gave me Reply 1988 feels sans the husband hunt. It’s about 5 childhood bestfriends and their lovely compound was very Ssangmundong neighbourhood! I was sad that I binged this fast and I am missing them now. 😭

I enjoyed the takeaway messages from the leads’ narrations at the end of each episode. Each episode had a purpose. Each episode was a memory from their youth. I felt that.

One of my favourites is the mom and daughter scene on Episode 14. Huang Cheng Zi is a daddy’s girl and it’s her mom she’s having a hard time to get a long with. This episode showed how much her mom loved her, but she didn’t see that because in her eyes, mom had always pressured her to do something that was beyond her capability. How they resolved this issue was well executed and it made me tear up how much love and sacrifice mom gave her only child, so she can have a better future that’s different from her. 😭😭😭😭

And… the OTP! Ooof!!! I love childhood bestfriends to lovers trope. The kind that know each other in and out. I love watching them fall for each other after being bestfriends for so long. There’s just something about seeing them understand each other even if the other doesn’t say a word. And this OTP right there checked off those feels for me.

Huang Cheng Zi. Tan Song. Zhu Jin Xiao. Chen Zui. He Jin Zhao. I will miss you tons, you lovely bunch! 😭

Np! Hope you’ll like it as much as I did! 😆 I really like how this drama just straights up tells the story of 5 kids and their families without going through tropes I hate.

Why do feel good dramas just keep coming lol. So glad they’re moving towards lesser episodes now. I’m watching Twenty your life on and it’s one realistic portrayal of twenties alongside being totally fun.

Shows should be just 16-24 episodes! But yes to the feel good dramas! I finished Lovely Us and I am also watching Cross Fire which is a new genre for me but what’s keeping me glued to the story is the characters’ perseverance and the squad 😭😭😭😭😭. Just so much positivity and moving forward with character’s growth!

I started Twenty Your Life On, unfortunately, it wasn’t a drama for me. 😖😖😖😖😖 Good to know you’re enjoying it. I did like the girlfriends’ relationships.

Awwwwiieee Purple!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 I’m glad you’re loving it! You’re binging this show fast 😭 Ep 7 is one of the cutest episodes!! Uri Tan Song is in love! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 I love that little moment he looked at Chengzi’s sleeping face and realized things have changed. His bestfriend becomes the girl he likes more than as a friend!!😭

I also like that moment in ep 6. Chengzi is crushing on some boy but she quickly sided on hating this boy in two scenarios – 1) when she learned that the twin boy was being bullied by him. She’s quick to defend the twin against her crush 2) when Tan Song got played dirty. I liked how she was cheering for the other camp but when there was a foul, she quickly cheered for Tan Song. Same with the twin boy! And then he was hurt, like ooofffff! All hell broke loose! No one can touch Tan Song! 🥰

Recently Finished Drama: #TheBadKids

Once in a while, I go outside of my comfort zone (rom-com) and give other genres a try if it’s a massive hit. Non-romance dramas like Signal, Forest of Secrets, SKY Castle became a few of my favourites that I checked out because they were most raved about in South Korea. Same case with #TheBadKids. It recently aired and China wouldn’t stop talking about how great #TheBadKids was. So I checked it out…….

Two minutes in and it already had me shoooookting! Definitely not my comfort drama! It’s about three kids who accidentally filmed a murder and from there, everything just spiralled down. The more these characters wanted out of the mess they got themselves in, the more things got worsen and dug their own graves. Unfortunately, I cannot say anything more than that for fear I would have spoiled the plot.

My thoughts on the ending: Because of my own preference, I was more inclined to believe that #TheBadKids was a HEA. I like HEA. And I like to believe in the good of my characters. So I chose to believe in the fairytale ending it presented to me.

I checked MDL’s take on it and …… yep this drama is no HEA. It’s dark and twisted. I missed a few points this drama wanted to show to me because I wanted to believe in the good of my characters. Some parts of the ending didn’t make sense to fit my own version of HEA, but that was my fault for not questioning the logic behind those parts. My fairytale ending wasn’t a fairytale ending, indeed. The ending made sense had I not gone on the fairytale route. And my eyes have been opened. The Bad Kid indeed.

Great show. I like that it wanted you to choose between fantasy or accept the grey area. And I chose the former. Read the dirty bits of it and I couldn’t agree more on their take on #TheBadKids.

*More spoiler thoughts on the ending in the comments below*

As per MDL – I agree when they said Caoyang and Zhang Dong Sheng are parallel characters. They mirror each other, but Caoyang eventually outwitted him. Caoyang was the one that got away. Both witnessed the fall of their relatives. Both wanted to “start fresh”. Caoyang wasn’t as innocent as he wanted to show.

I didn’t get the epilogue and that bit when Pupu said “I didn’t tell all to Yan Liang-gege”. Cuz I was so sure Yan Liang was in the know. So when Yan Liang was dangling from the edge of the ship, MDL said it was alluding to what exactly happened on that day his sister died.

He just watched her dangle from the window instead of saving her until she lost her grip and fell to her death. He was doing the same thing here with Yan Liang. He watched him lose his grip and fall into the water. He never did anything to help them.

Caoyang is The Bad Kid. The twisted one that looked innocent on the surface. I already had that feeling when I saw the epilogue in Episode 11, but I got fooled by him again at the end. That episode 11 epilogue made him a big manipulator and the father – his biggest mistake was turning a blind eye to it. That was his downfall. He let his son run freely in his imaginary world where everything was okay. He could get away with whatever he wanted. Lying was okay. But the events in ep 12 had me thinking otherwise that he had changed. But nope. He was a growing monster.

I shouldn’t trust Caoyang’s take on “what actually happened”. He is an unreliable storyteller. He lies and lies and lies and lies. And drama followed the story from his point of view. The HEA he showed at the end was actually his fantasy that he wanted me to believe it happened. So yes Gege and Pupu are dead. 😭😭 *chokes up* *sobs* *wails*

There was this scene in the bathroom of McDonald’s that had left confused. I didn’t get why Caoyang needed to bring up the second copy to Yan Liang when he knew that was empty. But I was also so sure he made a copy of the video clip. So from MDL, I understood now why this scene didn’t make sense to me. Apparently, Caoyang orchestrated this to get rid of Pupu. I knew there was something wrong with that scene! It’s like he was plotting against Yan Liang or something. Turns out it was his plan to get rid of Pupu. And maybe including Yan Liang too. But Zhang Dong Sheng had still human in him and wanted just to let them go. But Pupu died accidentally. A death that happened under his watch. Once again.

Soooooo Caoyang outwitted them all and didn’t get his hands dirty. He stood there while things were happening before his eyes.

Also Pupu. Accckkkkk~ His hatred of her ran deep. She started all this mess. She was the sole witness to what exactly happened on the 5th floor. It made sense that he wanted her gone. She disappeared from the narrative just like that. She was only said in the passing that she too got her HEA. This shows how much of an unreliable and biased narrator he is.

There was a BTS clip and picture that implied that Pupu indeed died. Zhang Dong Sheng went back to McDonald’s and got the rest of the Happy Meal toys and shed tears for the lost opportunity to buy these toys for Pupu. I`m sad that this was cut, but I guess it makes sense too because this ties back to the drama’s theme of which would you believe – fairytale or harsh reality? Had they shown this scene, there would be no alternate, fantasy, ending where all kids got their HEA.

Episode 10 animation – What a great, chilling animation. I still get goosebumps from seeing this. The first time I saw this, my goosebumps were because Zhang Dong Sheng, in the end, managed to ruthlessly murder the kids. But thanks to people’s eagles’ eyes, you will realize that was not the case at all! My second chills came from the fact that the wolf, which Zhang Dong Sheng was represented as, actually got thrown out of the window too. The middle is the wolf’s skull! *shivers*

    https://twitter.com/xiaotoumings/status/1275773934856663041?s=21

And that right there is Caoyang looking down at the skulls of two chickens and wolf while disguising as the wolf.

Ooooh so this is what it’s about… I saw on AvenueX’s YouTube channel that she also did a review of it, too, but still wasn’t sure about it… thanks for YOUR review ☺️☺️

    1

Yep, her rave reviews about it ultimately made me check it out. I just watched her “hidden details” review and I am still amazed by the little inserts this drama did that people I`m glad was able to find. I was glad I was right with my interpretation of the epilogue on Episode 11 though. They interviewed the actor who was in that scene and he pretty much confirmed my take on it

A couple of beanies checked it out too and they constantly talked about it with spoiler tags. My curiosity got the best of me…………………

China is talking about this nonstop. Now they’re creating memes about it. Qin Hao is even using a phone case with his now popular tag line LMAOOOOO https://twitter.com/xiaotoumings/status/1275063820000522242?s=21

And Zhang Zi Yi and Qin Hao convo about drama puns… LOL.

iQiyi caters to C-Drama watchers more. That’s three of the Chinese apps I’m watching my cdramas from – iQiyi, WeTV, and MGTV. But it just started licensing K-Dramas too. Their first two K-Dramas are Dinner Mate and Backstreet Rookie.

2020 Mid-year Dramalist
How is it end of June already! I am so sad that I haven’t finished any 2020 K-dramas yet. I am hoping #ItsOkayToNotBeOkay will give me my first bean.

Here are the dramas I have successfully finished so far as per MDL. Real:Time:Love 2 is a K-webdrama, so I don’t get a bean for finishing it. Also, I am so sad that Someday or One Day is not in my 2020 complete list since it was in 2019. 😭😭😭😭

My currently watchlist. I have sooooo many I’m watching!!! I dunno when I will finish them😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I hope I get to watch more K-dramas in the latter half of this year and that I actually finish what I’m currently watching. I hate to drop all of them. I already dropped too many! 😭😭

Hello, my name is Ryan. Nice to meet you.

Who’s next on your list? 😂

    1
    1

😂😂😂😂 No one yet! I’m still being Ryanified! And a special episode is coming out sometime tonight and the setting will be in modern era \0/ hopefully English subs will be fast as well so I can watch it ASAP

We are thinking of starting My Girl though. It’s coming out on the 17th. Same leads as My Youth. And same writer of Tiger and Rose! So hopefully this will be the new crack!

How is your Tiger and Rose watch? Hope you’re still enjoying! 😆😆😆😆 I liked the ending. It had its lows in some of the episode but overall I enjoyed the ride.

      1
      1

Lol @Ryanified. Oh, yes I heard about the special episode. I hope it’ll make lots of fans happy.

I heard about My Girl. Too bad I didn’t really like her in Meteor Garden. And I didn’t watch My Youth coz of her hair. Yes, I’m a bad person for judging someone so early in the show. 😅

I am slowly watching Tiger and Rose. Can you believe that I only finished ep 11 this weekend? I recommended it to a couple of people and they are already way past me even though I started watching first. 😂

        1
        1

😭😭😭😭😭😭 Oh that special episode 🙃🙃🙃🙃 I was so excited this morning to check out but 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 anyways don’t bother looking for it after you’ve finished this show. It’s no where near like Intense Love Special Episode 😭😭😭😭😭

Huehhehee I I thought the leads of My Youth were okay! She had an awful highschool hair, but yeah she did get rid of it once they’re at uni. 😅

Lol I guess take your time and savour Rose and Tiger! Now that I’m done with it and Gosh that special episode😖😖😖 I feel so empty 😭😭😭😭😭😭

          1
          5

Aww, that sucks to hear. Have you watched the fanmeet? I was going to but the sound quality available on YT was not that great.

Speaking of Intense Love, are you watching for more Ryan? I had to put it on hold at about ep 12, it got really cheesy and gave me a toothache with all that sweetness. 😂

I hate that emptiness after watching a drama you love. It’s been almost a year since I had that feeling.

            Are you watching anything else?

            1
            0

Can you use VPN? If you’re able to connect to either Singapore or Thailand or I guess any Asian country, this link should work : https://youtu.be/z71wI7ihWtQ

Tencent uploaded the fanmeet on YT but is restricted here in North America 😰😰😰

I am not watching any more Ryan shows unfortunately. Outie did a heavy fast forward on Intense Love just so she could watch Ryan and finished ep 24 in 3 mins, I think lol. And at some point she was just randomly clicking an episode to watch 😂😂😂😂😂 Our Ryan-obsession is real. 😂

She finished Encore too through major fast forwarding just to get a glimpse of Ryan. I think she’s more Ryan-obsessed than I am! 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃

Intense Love had a spin off special episode which is role reversal. Maybe you could check it out? I keep asking Outie to watch it and see if it’s any good but I think she got burned out by ff too much of Ryan shows for love 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Anyways, I started Mr. Fox and Miss Rose. You can check that out too if you want! Hades recommended it to me. It’s not as crack as Tiger and Rose but I managed to binge 10 episodes at once 😅😅😅. The first two episode is heavy on suspension of disbelief, but once the female lead travels to the civilization world (which happened in ep 3), that’s when I couldn’t stop watching. Like I said, it’s not a crack show but the male lead is just surprisingly nice and very patient with her each episode. I like that he levels with her understanding every time. She’s from the Amazon, so she had to learn how to adapt to how the modern world works. Try powering through The first two episodes and I think you’ll know what I mean about how it’s not a crack haha funny show, but the plot just moves. And how the male lead is just soooo nice.

            1

It’s not restricted on my YT and I’m in North America. That’s the same link I was watching the other day but the sound seems to be better now. 🤔

🤣 at Outie and her obsession. Her poor fingers must hurt from all that FF!

I’m good with watching the clips for Intense Love special episode. I can’t take it with all that sugar. 😅

I’ll put Mr. Fox and Miss Rose on the list for now. I’ve started so many cDramas lately and have only completed one (My Love, Enlighten Me). My current one is the remake of Fated to Love You aka You Are My Destiny. I’ve only seen the Taiwanese version many years ago and just recently skimmed through about 5 episodes of the Korean one. This version seems to be a bit more toned down and is decent to watch. I guess it also helps that I already know the story. It’s just how the story will be executed that will be interesting. I’m already asking for the angst 112 episodes in. 😂

Ooooohh hmmmm 🤔🤔🤔 I cant watch that video from Tencent channel in Canada!

Oh yes! You are My Destiny is in my list too, but haven’t had the chance to watch it yet. I’m glad to know it’s toned down though. I think this is most likely why I’m very much attached to C-Dramas lately; their plots aren’t too convoluted and the characters don’t have that messed up personalities than K-Drama characters. The story just flows by watching good-natured people trying adjust to the new normal when another person comes into their bubbles. I don’t see a lot of asshat male leads in cdrama. They tend to be nice and swoony. Sometimes I can just watch mindlessly. A much needed after work!

Anyways I’ve seen both the Korea and Taiwanese version of Fated to Love You, so I am very much aware of the push pull that’s gonna happen in this series. Hopefully I can start that sometime this week.

On My Love, Enlighten Me – unfortunately I had dropped the show, but I know the last few episodes were just pure cute OTP sweetness, the female lead was great (she was basically the star of the show), and a few beanies enjoyed the show.

You must be watching the good C-dramas to feel this way. 😂 Though I agree, lately the cDramas I’ve been watching, the MLs are all very nice and considerate. Definitely a big change from Korean leads who are always yelling.

I watched My Love Enlighten Me mainly for the FL’s story. I could care less for the romance. Yes, the last few episodes had more kisses and cute but I didn’t enjoy any of the kisses. It seemed really sloppy to me. I wish the ML was a stronger actor. Hopefully he learned from this show and will be better in his next one.
