Great Grandfathers cameo was NICE!..and it is interesting that the high school ML resembles his great grandfather

    I won’t be watching MBC’s WHEN THE PHONE RINGS (Netflix) but since I first became away of it every time I see the title I think of the 1948 film thriller starring Barbara Stanwyck and Burt Lancaster: SORRY, WRONG NUMBER.

Flower painting is signature of SFL in Coffee Prince. There are so many places where we see her flower murals, paintings etc…

And, the UGLIEST work is what she painted on the wall in the coffee shop

Girlie was telling ML in so many ways that she is truly not genuine with him and not interested

      I never liked it, but this time I have come to the conclusion that it is planned choice to show how much SFL does not take ML seriously… it is freaking ugly; her flower paints on little buns she left for SML were way more gorgeous (drama makes it a point to show that her paintings and flower paintings are really good)

Lincoln Lawyer –
I watched the 2011 movie and then moved onto the latest drama series. Series is popular but the Male Lead feels so so uncharismatic in this role compared to Matthew McC. Matt, really added a flair to the Mick’s character that sold the idea of how street smart Mick is.. But this one is like any other run of the mill hollywood cop/lawyer/detective drama and Mick has no unique personality.

    I was shocked to hear the news. I first saw the news on facebook, I googled it in English to confirm it wasn’t fake news but nothing came up. When I searched in Korean, there were several sources saying the same thing. That was when I knew it was true. So sad. May he rest in peace.

      This is very very sad. I remember him mostly from We are Married, and he was such a full of confidence charming man.. and yes, baffling because after staying away from work for so long, he was starting to appear in a lot of places in last few years…

Fangs of Fortune has such witty dialogues. Smart humour after a long time. Love fantasy for most parts is fun with good comedy in initial episodes. Dubious about Pearl-whether to start or not

Interesting! Every form of governance has issues – pros and cons. Democracy, like it or not, favours majority. You could be the best person out there but if you are unlikeable, u won’t get votes.

Love Game Eastern Fantasy is so so funny! Fast paced and nice. A good cdrama after a long time.
Also, they captured transmigration system interactions so accurately.

Opening and Ending credits are so cute!

I am truly surprised. I think I missed most of it themes when live watched it years ago.

The writer is always criticised for her not so deep scripts and basically banking on high profile actors. Most of her work starts great and then just veers off into an absolute mediocre superficial stuff.

But Goblin\’s writing is good and she does raised a few nice themes. Also, some tidbits

1. The drama is based on an original tale of Goblin (changes made include ability to summon Goblin and pre-condition to becoming Reaper is committing the great sin)
a. Return of Superman Daehan – if you are aware of this reality show and LDH\’s bond with this kid (footballer\’s only son).. Baby (literal baby) was on the set to kiss and wish LDW good luck before filming 😀
b. Gong Yoo fell hard.. Really hard in love…you can totally see the soul bro connection of same age friends in BTS
c. Can\’t believe Twice is already that old. They were the sensation then. We have Exo song in the show.. Well just 10 months later BTS had arrived on the international scene 😀 .. Timecapsule drama
d. On the original tale bit, they did their research on folk lores etc on Goblin to come up with witty dialogues and what not. A very very interesting story is, they found a record in official documents of how a man just progressed to becoming Reaper without committing any \”great sin\” (I am amazed that there is a record of a man becoming reaper)
e. So many interesting cameos of today\’s well known actors

2. Themes

Types of deaths-
a. Suicide – I completely missed the part as to why Reapers had to save money to buy food, eat food, pay rent etc… the greatest sin is to disrespect the life given to you (good or bad)… because it is in itself a very rare, precious gift.. That you took birth
b. Sacrifice – It is entirely your choice. So, if someone has made a sacrifice for you or does so on a daily basis then appreciate it (ehm.. Parents I guess)… This is entirely yours..not what any deity interfered with because it is a decision made in the moment.. So, be kind.. Make that choice on a daily basis of being kind
c. Murder – you killing someone is wrong and evil and karma will pay back. You go to hell.

Others-
a. Punishment is relevant only when hurt is immense and deep
b. Loyalty is above anger and feeling of being betrayed. True love is not conditional
c. Strong will can defy universe\’s intricately detailed and well planned setup… you have to really really want something so badly and work for it to give yourself a chance.. It may or maynot happen, but you first need to create that chance for yourself

There\’s quite a lot of stuff.. But this must be our writer\’s one of the best writing

Finished rewatch of Goblin.. binge worked better.. but show is timeless.. actually could watch the show with bare minimum FF… it was romantic and sweet
