Is that korean dog series over? who watched it? how was it overall…and exactly what genre is it.. comedy? slice of life of lonely man with dog as companion? overall feel good.. or poignant

    It was a good comedy+ procedural thriller (there are slice-of-life elements too) about a group of old friends who are temporarily living together in Geoje Island.
    The main lead is the older among them and he discovers he can talk to a police dog who helps him solve crimes.

its officer Gu or ML.. revenge murders.. we have seen ML is does not shy away from breaking law… oh yeah, murderer has to be one of these two

Doubt – he he.. Mystery seems to be mystering again. So, here is my theory

Murderer is Officer Gu – the male intern.

In ep 6 we learnt that his brother was convicted in a r*pe case and committed suicide because of the detective who pushed him too hard; ultimately brother was innocent.

Pretty sure we are watching revenge murders. Either real murderer was never caught or r*pe was a con. It is interesting that a homeless girl gets murdered who never wants to go back home and is possibly in a weird relatiolnship with teacher OR that she is a detective’s daughter’s best friend!!!

The same detective who is potentially responsible for grilling too hard in that r*pe case… aka our ML

ONLY THIS EXPLAINS the title of the series – intimate traitor.. And ONLY THIS EXPLAINS why we have 2 interns

I think, it is safe to say that I was right!
Kdrama just cannot go there where detective dad has to hand in his own daughter for murder.

She was never the murderer.

Exactly why did this script win the award?? Because mystery wasn’t even mysterying .. It was kind of blatant from ep 1

PS: Also, can’t a mystery just be a good mystery or thriller be a good thriller and not be just family drama sold under the name of mystery and thriller. Please writers… do the family drama but maintain the sanctity of the other genre that you are using to mish-mash

PEOPLE!!!… The origin of the song’s reveal is the BEST MYSTERY/TWIST EVER!!!!… like EVER… atleast for me because i usually get to see the twist specially in dramas very very early on… haven’t had a good twist in ages!

And the title makes sense now

PS: Even the theories which were guessed very early on… it was nice to see them validated in the final two episodes… road reveal was definitely obvious

Random memory – Park Seo Jun (Jinny’s kitchen, gyeongsang creature)’s first onscreen kiss is Ji Sung… and he was very cute when saying this in BTS of the kiss scene (don’t fact check because else PSJ becomes a liar)

Random memory 2 – JS knew what the task was in Devil’s Judge

Conclusion – LBY is very lucky, kdrama world is very lucky to have a charismatic actor… and JS knows how to do romance with ANYONE

    I recently went on a Ji Sung binge and watched Kill Me Heal Me (and loved the JS and PSJ kisses!!) and Secret Love for the first time. Devil Judge and Connection are on my watch list. I agree that Ji Sung knows how to do romance!

      oh yes.. secret love was such a whatsapp story and at that time a trope that had been used quite a lot + thai world was full of that themes so wasn’t truly ground breaking.. BUT BUT BUT.. man the way he sells romance.. and Yoona (KMHM).. was adorable.. plus KMHM is one of the most amazing dramas , specially script wise

Doubt – theory –

1. The college/school friend/boyfriend who transferred a year ago is the masked helmet man…and has some connection with the dead best friend girl (he transferred a year ago, mom died a year ago, best friend died sometime before that)
2. FL has the same problem as Jhan Hyuk in beautiful mind… lack of emotions (such an old theme to be brought up again in kdramas)
3. Ofcourse FL is not a killer, never was
4. Doubt.. Because 1 doubt has led to multiple consequences and each consequence had its own new doubt which had its own repurcussions… Dad thought FL killed brother -> child’s distrust in her own parents and reclusive nature + divorce -> child genuinely suffering from some disease but mom interprets that as another doubt on her being a sociopath or something -> assumes dead body’s killer is daughter… gets into a blackmail cycle.. So on and on… poor FL.. All because she is not expressive enough for her parents and for this society
5. So back to point 1 … we have someone taking revenge for LSY/dead best friend’s murder… or even killed LSY because another murder took place before that.. And best friend, school teacher, runaway kid gang etc are complicits

6. Lastly, our male junior investigator is the guy who will correctly theorize and our FL junior will be or should be the one to find facts that will validate those theories… perfect team game!… And that is literally the purpose of these two characters… find balance between objectivity and subjectivity.. Between hard facts and interpreting those facts… between reading a situation and reading between lines

ML from Mr. Queen/ SML CLOY – he is So freaking amazing… Iron family is run of the mill weekender, but this guy literally adds so much vivaciousness in his characters (incl. his recent flops..he is never ever bad in his roles… probably the only saving grace..)

Comeon… he needs better scripts, bigger breaks… probably other than KSH, there is no other actor in current crop with as much versatility (and that includes likes of KWB and LJS)…. (I mean every actor has a bad day with a character.. But not this one.. Never dissapointed)

Family by choice is great but chinese original version is far far superior.

Most importantly and unfortunately, Hwang Y / ML is not really selling the tortured soul of ML as well as Song WeiLong did. With SL’s interpretation, you could see the intensity and extent of his dependence on FL to literally breathe. HY’s interpretation of ML is just not that.. He is way too “at peace” (that desperation, yearning, grappling at straws, the vestige of mom’s torture and emotional abuse is just not reflected as well as it was in the chinese version)

FL… no comparison.. TS was amazing and sold the young and the old with her cuteness better than this FL. I am not familiar with Korean FL’s work so let’s see how she does after the time jump.

Dads are literally phenomenal in both versions. No 19-20 difference. All 4 actors brought in A+ game

Moms… well.. This drama is famous for portraying all mom’s except FL’s in bad light and continues to do well. It is interesting how Sanha’s mom is in this show vs Iron Family where she is protected but nice.

Lastly, star of the Korean adaptation besides the Dads is our Second Male lead (and fingers crossed, really hoping the second couple that Kdrama has going on continues… it is a pleasant change and I love these two actors)…. Coming back to Second Male Lead (chinese version is played by a really famous, established, amazing actor… and our Korean actor is if not better than easily at par.. Personally, I think he is AMAZING)

if you have double identity then should your boyfriend should be more accepting of you having multiple partners or husbands. Will that amount to cheating? Is your hubby/bf a jerk for not coming to terms with you having multiple bfs/hubbies? Do such people have no hope to find love/companionship? Are those bfs and hubbys allowed to cheat on you given your personality x may be absent for multiple days?

    To her, in this story, it’s not really a choice … not as is, anyway.
    For everyone else: If you lie about it, or knowingly tells your partner nothing, it’s definitely cheating.
    If you have multiple personalities – I don’t know how that really goes, but if a situation like in Dear Hye-ri was possible, – then you are not obligated to put up with anything. It’s your choice. If your partner is mentally ill, you shouldn’t get angry, but you can leave them. Before you leave them, you can try talking to them … and their various personalities … saying that if any of them wants to have a partner, they will have to break up with you first. And if they can’t understand the situation, you can let them go, or go along with them and tell any interested party that this body and it’s torn soul is yours … yours to love, and yours to care for, yours to cry for. Kang the Deep Eye Lake would not have fallen like that if he had been orientated about the situation early on, I think. But he has not broken her, as opposed to someone else.

      I wanted to say: If your partner have multiple personalities – I don’t know how that really goes, but if a situation like in Dear Hye-ri was possible, – then you are not obligated to put up with anything.

      and if i tweak this scenario only a bit.. say girl is in depression or physically hurt in an accident and the guy chooses to leave then he will be labeled a jerk ( i anticipate most people to do that)!

      Also, then what is the definition of being together in sickness and in health for a couple..

        Like I said, I am not sure split personality works the way it does here at all. Or rather, I am pretty sure it doesn’t. But if it does, or if it did, if the affected person decides to have another relationship, then it’s not a relationship you have with that person anymore. The new partner can take over, if they want to. If you don’t want to be in that kind of throuple or quadrouple, then the involved person or persons will have to take choices, too. If you consider the other personalities as sane personalities, then they must take responsibility, too, and if they are unable to have responsibility, you will have to take care of them like you would maybe a werewolf.
        Or, you can consider yourself a kind of caring nurse for that partner, not leaving so as to not be a jerk, but also not considering it as a romantic relationship anymore.
        You can bide your time to see if there will be a person you know and will love at the end of this, or you can bide your time and consider yourself an obligated friend/ex.

          In this case, he is partly responsible for her insanity. He has been treating her hot and cold in a way that could easily first wipe her off her feet and then wipe her off her sanity.
          Even if we accept – which I don’t – that because he feels obligated to take care of those old women it can’t be combined with a marriage,then does that justify him in just wiping her off for talking about marriage, wiping her off like she was dust on his shoulder?
          And besides that, he has been her boyfriend for 8 years … one might think that along the way his reason for not wanting to marry could have come up. But I suspect they have not actually ever been close enough for that. Because in between caring for her like she was a toddler he has been cold towards her like she was someone he didn’t know, just someone at the next table in a pub who wouldn’t stop talking to him even if he “Mmmh” and “uhh hu”‘ed them and covered his face with the newspaper /had his eyes glued to his phone.

      ha ha..Lee’s English gets extra swoony points..

      3rd was definitely impressive and so was his boss, 3 star chef 😀 ..

      I really liked the judges.. they maintained balance in parameters to judge otherwise it would either become a taste game or technicality game (also, 3 star chef was extra hard on Lee everytime and bias to our cutesy specs guy)
