Those circulating banknotes. 😂
Poor LW Mom. 😄
(Though she shouldn't be so greedy.)
And poor Halmoni and Haraboji, getting a ride in a police car full of police officers. 😄
And then we have Kim Junghyun and his way of folding himself into a sofa. 😂
He is also so good at playing all sides of Lighter Writer who sometimes looks like a jerk when saying A... and only when he adds B we can see his love and good heart (he is so smitten 😊). That confrontation (smoothly turning into confession 🙂) with Darim in his office was great and Darim was great for keeping her own stance. I love them together.
And then... then we finally started the love story between Aunt and Bom's Appa!
I had a couple of scenarios on my mind, but Writernim had something much better prepared for us and the first connection starts between the men - what a touching scene of Bom's Appa listening to the desperate sobs of Little Doctor.

KJH is KILLING IT as Crosswalk. He makes this character so charming.
And yes, the way Da Rim handled the situation was 👌
Just them together is perfection.
I love them so much.
And I'm happy with this scenario too! I'm excited to see aunt's storyline develop.

I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH.
1. Cha and Da going to their company in the middle of the night to work on their "talent" and "loyalty", awwwww. I love them so much.
2. Haraboji having a patatús after the not-interrogation in the police car. And then fainting again when he woke up and saw all those police officers in front of him. 😂 That whole sequence was GOLD.
3. Mu Rim giving the money to his mom, aww. And then asking permission to his wife and giving it to Chaebol dad to pay for the debt. Awww.
It's a shame since mom, haraboji and his noona worked so hard to give the money to him and Su Ji so they could have a home. But it's also very understandable since he most know how hard it will be for them to pay that debt.
Aigoo, if SBOO owns another building, maybe he can give his future bro in law a discount?
4. The MIL leaving her own house LMAO. She was right this time, tho. They should've gone to the hotel.
5. OH MY CAT TAE UNG IS SO ANNOYING. Dude, Da Rim isn't your 12 years old sis. She can date whoever she wants and work wherever she wants.
At this point in her life any job is an important experience for her, and this one is actually a ONE in a lifetime opportunity given her circumstances. Of course this rich guy who works in a dry cleaning shop for fun doesn't know how insane it is to find a job in this day and age.
Also, what did Crosswalk do to YOU, bro? NOTHING. Leave him alone!
6. I LOVED Crosswalk's rant-confession about all the "what if". And talking about his regrets, and Da Rim's little confession about her past feelings, AWWW.
I love these two SO MUCH.
Their dynamic is so refreshing!
7. I felt really sad watching aunt's son cry so much. She also looked heartbroken. I hope Bom and her dad help them smile again soon.
8. Okay, so, yeah, I was really annoyed at SBOO this episode, but I also loved the scene with the two sis and two bros/two couples/future in laws.
I want more of that!!!
And SBOO's drinking session with his mom. 🥺💚 They're lovely. I love how she tells him everything, even the little things. She really treats him like her eldest.
And I loved how she asked him to move in with them. Awww.
Their relationship is too precious.

SBOO is even older than Mu Rim. Crosswalk is around Da Rim's age. Or maybe Cha Rim's.
SBOO said "this hyung..." referring to himself.

13 was a very good episode.
Loved the office scene with all four of them together.
Tae Ung's big brother act is wearing thin on me and I am glad Da Rim said something about it to him and Crosswalk rebuffed his BS.
Tae Ung is handling his big brother's role wrongly. Instead of being supportive and a mentor, he is controlling and backstabbing. I hope he gets his own emotions under control soon because he is overall a good caring character.
Da Rim got that job on her own and is working hard to improve herself. Getting a good job in Korea is a competitive task. While she had circumstances and luck on her side for this one, whatever works works.
I so enjoy it whenever Crosswalk's mom comes on the screen screaming and freaking out about her money. A lot of which is out in the wild now or burned. I keep forgetting it's 10 billion, not 10 million though. That's a lot of money to launder. Grandparents and Mom are going to be so frustrated when the wedding money boomerangs back to them.
Cha Rim is so cute trying to get Tae Ung to forgive her.

Yes, Cha rim is so obviously overjoyed by her sister's miracle.
The saddest thing (aside from Little Doctor sobbing in the men's room) is how much SBOO's life is being warped by the chip on his shoulder. He is actually a successful investor and despite his hardships he is doing very well. He could even give a wedding gift of about $25,000 to Mu-rim.

There has to be something magnetic about the 10 million. It keeps finding its way back to its owner.

Can I just say that I don't want our iron family to lose the money & have to apologise for taking it? Crosswalk's mom - an already rich woman - hiding her inheritance to avoid paying taxes is more of a theft than what the FL's family is doing.
I have zero sympathy for that woman and all the support for a family with two retirees, hardworking kids, a single mother and her -basically- adoptive son.

I agree. It's hard to sympathize with Crosswalk’s mom, who has been pouting and tantruming like a spoiled little rich girl from the get-go.
I wouldn’t mind if she lost everything and had to start over as a single, penniless woman. You know one of those sitcoms where she's forced to live with deadpan roomies, work in, I dunno, Subway (ultimate PPL), and earn her HEA with the guy working condiments (but really a Chaebol in disguise). I would watch that spin-off.
I am cold and heartless. (I may also be conflating this character with the actor’s turn as the worst mom of the year in FbC.) But this weekender is warm and good-hearted. I expect she'll end up fine.

I think pride is the biggest obstacle for SBO Oppa. Like his father in the past, he is now judging his love Charim and letting them both be hurt. Why not to tell her? At least a bit? That he has enough to take care of her, so she could drop her tough pretense masking her fears? I think if she could be sure about some financial stability, she would drop all the talk about some rich guys and fly into his arms. Oh, the pride.

Bingo. There is so little that is stopping these two from getting together as they both so much want to- and yet it is also so much. Pride and Fear.
Yet Cha-rim mentioned wanting to get married now. Part of her fear was wound up in her little sister's blindness and so has abated to a considerable extent: We now see a liberated Cha-rim. Really it is our SBOO's pride which is now the main barrier.

Ooh, I like how you phrased it. But can I amend a little? Yes, he is Proud. Of course, he wants to be loved for himself, not his bank balance. And she has a Prejudice against poverty, her fear not surprising growing up in such financial straits?
I understand them both, but my heart leans a little more toward him. As an abandoned child, his life was even harder and he’s made such a success of himself and never let her relative poverty get in the way of his feelings.
I appreciate both characters even if neither is always likeable. I wonder how our messy, complicated Pride and Prejudice couple will find their way toward each other.

It's not just her he is not disclosing his wealth to it's the entire family. Maybe he wants the family to see him as one of them. They know he is well off and they could look at him differently and not see him as one of them. I don't think it has anything to do with "pride."

But he knows them well enough to know how they feel about him and how they would treat him even if they knew the truth.
Did he ever see Da or Cha treat Crosswalk in a "different" way just because he's rich?
The only one who has a problem with someone is Mu Rim with his MIL, and that's only because she keeps trying to give him money.
But doesn't he have a happy relationship with his wife?
Didn't aunt marry a wealthy guy and no one cared?
He's literally family to them, so what else does he need from them?
And if he wants to be with Cha Rim, who's looking for someone she wants to MARRY, then he SHOULD tell her. It's not a casual relationship anymore. That's what she wants to stop now. She's taking her future seriously.

He does not know how they would respond to his wealth because they don't know yet. How can he? Money causes all sorts of issues in family and among friends those issues are not always positive. But let's see what is explanation is for hiding it from them in the coming episodes.
Cha Rim him are not in a serious relationship. She comes to the rooftop to flirt with him and that has been the extent of so far.

November 11, 2024 at 10:42 AM
It's funny, I've always thought his not divulging his wealth was because he wanted to help in any way he could without the family's refusal--which would be inevitable if they knew the money was coming from him. He keeps the rent on the laundry and the house low, he essentially paid for the laundry to be rebuilt--minus crosswalk's share--after the fire. Any other landlord would have booted the family out of there after that fire. I totally believe that if he knew about Da-Rim's surgery money, he would have found a way to pay for it...

@marmari We have already seen the older brother refusing money because of his pride. I have no idea how the rest of the family would feel, or if he himself would raise strong objections to Tae-Ung helping out the way he is. We will have to find that out. I hope and trust everything will be positive. But it may not be at first.

I struggled a lot with Tae woong in these episodes (and I cringe every time Da Rim calls him "oppa"). It's not that I don't understand why he has a big chip on his shoulder; it's just that I don't like him very much. I can't even tell how he truly feels about Cha Rim. There's not a whole lot of warmth coming from him, although I know we're supposed to get that he's basically a kind, loving guy. But beyond that, I can't tell: is he in love with Cha Rim and hurt that she won't outright come to him because (she thinks) he's poor? Would he choose to be with her if she suddenly confessed and said she was fine with him whether he has money or not? What does he want, exactly? Sometimes when he says things like he'll give her a lot of money when she marries someone else I wonder how much he actually cares and longs for her.
I also really didn't like the way he tried to sabotage Da Rim's job. Again, I get that he thinks he's being protective, but it's just coming off as pushy and controlling to me.

And about his relationship with Cha Rim... I give up. 😂 As long as those two understand wtv they're doing I'm okay with it. I like them together but I can't really understand their dynamic.
I find Tae Ung more likeable when he's with mom, halmoni and/or haraboji. Their relationship is lovely.

Cha rim gave our SBOO a chance to stop her from going on the blind date and he did not do it. But now word of his origins has come out. How does she fix this? By going on the offensive and confronting him over his silence. She is a talented and hard-working lady who was never looking for a sugar daddy- just security- stemming from her family situation. Our SBOO has to have been blind not to see that. She certainly never hid her opinion that he was otherwise her ideal man. Shame on Tae-ung for hiding the truth from her.
But now the truth of his birth is out- and our Chairman has been slapped by two women. I feel sorry for him, but he could note that he only just found out himself. Still, this is not something that he should have concealed from his wife.
Poor Aunt Mi-reun. I hope she is re-united with our young doctor soon. We know that Bom's dad heard him crying in the men's room. I hope we get to know him better soon. In any case, once the full situation is explained I hope that her mom and dad use some of the stash under the mattress to get her a good lawyer (they do come in handy from time to time). I think it would do her good in the meantime to work in the laundry if only to take her mind off things (and put her in proximity to Bom's dad). We will see what writer-nim has in mind for her.
We found out that Mu-rim is a very decent fellow (and that their wedding night was "not their first time"): Maybe his bride knew what she was doing when she married him. But they should have gone to the hotel, if only to further fulfill his mother-in-law's dream.

"Shame on Tae-ung for hiding the truth from her."
I'm sorry but I just don't see why Tae-ung has any obligation to tell her about his finances. He is already being very generous to the family. He also may feel that if the family that took him and he loves knows he is financially well off they may look at and treat him differently and not see him as one of them.
As far as Cha Rim, her looking for financial security is one of the signs of a golddigger. Not looking to marry for love but obsessing over how much money the guy has. One of the biggest obstacles she faces at least in K-dramas is her family background. Her talent and hard work do not count as much as her family background does. Wealthy families want their children to marry into other wealthy families. How can this marriage help our family's status and wealth. If it can't the wealthy family is going to oppose it.

So agree. To measure someone's worth solely based on their bank balance is incredibly shallow and I totally understand why he doesn't want to tell her. If it were me, I'd wonder for the rest of my life whether she loves me or my money. Fine, she's entitled to having her requirement (okay, single requirement) for who she wans to marry. He doesn't meet it. So why does she keep coming back and flirting with him, acting like he's hers, and then throwing his apparent poverty in his face? It's not like he'd be able to snap his fingers and not be poor just because that's what she wants--especially given Korea's socioeconomic story. I know it's for the sake for the narrative but Cha Rim is an incredibly unlikable character for me. She treats people according to how she feels at that moment about them and yet the smallest offense against her makes her even more nasty.

Yes. Why does everyone keeps saying, “Show her the money!” 😂
I would never want someone to marry me just for my money. Could I trust them when times are hard? No wonder Tae-ung hesitates. Cha-rim is wounding him terribly by constantly throwing his poverty in his face. But we’ve seen that while Da-rim was a financial liability upon her, she was also terribly unkind.
But I also understand why financial security is so important to her in a partner. She’s seen the dire straits her own father left the family in. Even tho she’s a determined, capable woman herself, that’s a difficult fear to let go of. That’s generational trauma. But, still, she’s really not a nice person at times!
And neither is he. At this point his jerk behavior toward Da-rim’s job opportunity seems selfishly dictated by his hate for his bio-fam.
What a messy couple. Love it!

I feel like both Cha Rim and Mu Rim were fed up by the time the mother asked them for the money.
Neither of them was particularly surprised about the existence of a miracle treatment (wonder how many treatments they spent money on, before the 8mil one). Besides, their first reaction was asking about how much was needed, indicating they would have agreed were it not for a life long debt.

EPISODE 14
How can this show get even better? It's insane.
1. Those slaps HAHAHAHAHA. I love how he blocked the second one but then uri omma just went for the other side.
But the scene at the dry cleaner was very sweet. First time he acted like a decent guy. So I had pretty much the same reaction as Bong Hui: shocked in a good way.
2. I feel so bad for aunt. I'm sad halmoni just went for it and started to hit her without listening to what she had to say.
It seems like aunt had a very sad marriage and all she's doing now is for her child's sake.
I'm glad BH was supportive at least.
I need Bom's dad to make her smile ASAP.
3. Crosswalk really sucks at his job. I would hate him as my boss too.
I think he would've done better as his dad's secretary, tbh...
I hope he goes with Da Rim's advice, and starts evaluation his employees in a different away. Plus, dude should search what teamwork is, because yikes. Asking for teamwork in those conditions? When he doesn't even acknowledge the root of the problem and tries to fix it?
4. I'm glad Cha Rim didn't go out. This thing with SBOO isn't going anywhere.
Neither of them wants to change and that has them stuck in a wishy-washy relationship. They're not dating, but not not-dating either.
This break is the wake up call they both need, so they can realize the real depth of their feelings for each other. Aka. they need to know there's no one else who's going to put up with them. Jk.
5. The family being there for Da Rim's first day was so sweet!! I really love how supportive they are.
And omo! Crosswalk helping her practice for her first day 🥺💚
6. THAT CONFESSION.
This is my favorite confession (and fave response to a confession) of the year. That exchange was gold.
And I love how the show didn't feel the need to make a big deal out of it, but it still delivered the same feels. I literally was giggling, kicking my feet and rolling on the bed.

#4 I agree about the pride, and I think SBOO is holding off on telling Cha Rim about his wealth (and therefore the rest of the family) is because he wants her to approach him for who he is, and not for what he has. I don't know what more approaching Cha Rim needs to do when she literally asked him to stop her from going on a blind date.
She's thinking of her future, he's just too dumb to get it.
But I agree that they both have very unique personalities and it would be very hard to find someone else to match them. 😆
The way she told Da Rim to not follow her, and then he literally ignored mom and just left the house... They're basically the same person.

Cha Rim and SBOO are so prickly, they're really well-matched. I wonder if her goading him about money is rooted as much in wanting to push him to do *more* as it is just criticizing his lack of wealth. She witnessed what her father's stubbornness and inability to change gears did to the family -- her mom in particular. As a woman of great ambition herself, Cha Rim is probably frustrated that SBOO seems content to toil in the dry cleaner (for what is probably not a living wage) and doesn't try to better his situation in any way. (She didn't know about his investing until just recently.) When she talks about wanting to marry a rich man, she might also be fishing for a sign from SBOO that he has goals for the future that go beyond his current day-to-day.

In ep 14, where Crosswalk caught his mother snooping for the bag of money Mi Rim gave Chairman was absolutely heartbreaking to me. Even after he told her the loan sharks she hired were dangerous, reminded her that her father died because he was betrayed, and that her marriage could really be in jeopardy if she continued looking for the money she did not back down. Crosswalk told her outright that he'll take over the search and dealing with the loan sharks because if anything went wrong he'll be the one going down and she did not even blink an eye. I know her character is supposed to be cartoonishly spoiled and infantile, but allowing her son to sacrifice his life for the money was just too much. Poor Crosswalk!

That scene was really heartbreaking.
However, I feel like mom has never felt the same insecurity Crosswalk does. I feel like she doesn't see her family's fragility the same way he does, so she thinks her husband will forgive her eventually.
So I took it more like she was thinking Crosswalk was exaggerating. I don't see it as if she actually things she's putting her son in danger of being kicked out.
We saw her reaction when Crosswalk showed her his story, and at that moment she looked genuinely worried of his dad finding out about it. But she has never treated this situation with her money the same way. That's why she even told Crosswalk to stop being so serious because it was scaring her.
But it really is heartbreaking to see how Crosswalk has so little faith in his own family. It almost felt as if he thought his dad was ready to replace them with SBOO and his bio mom.
No kid should feel like that in their own home.

The money going around and around in circles is hilarious.
I love our otp these episodes; they are so cute and also a bit eccentric.
Don’t leave any important secrets out in plain sight! Someone is going to find them. I would have preferred if dry cleaner mom got her adopted son to talk than snooping. The chairman probably deserved the snooping.

Cha Rim told him her ideas keep getting stolen and his response was "teamwork". Bro...

I completely agree. He does this even after his stepfather has told him the Designers are not Office Workers. He is completely incompetent.

I can't even imagine an office, where an employee is clearly stealing her junior's ideas and the boss just shrugs and names it "teamwork".

You are fortunate never to have been in a dysfunctional office. There are a lot of managers who don't want to make difficult decisions, have hard conversations, or fire people. When you have someone stealing ideas, that person presents as a functional and useful part of the office, so they have a lot of clout.

Ep 14:
THE DOUBLE SLAP WAS EVERYTHING.
LOL.. I laughed so hard. He deserved it. I have been a tad mad at him for throwing the results to Tae Ung and said he has no plans to do anything. That was unnecessarily cruel to an abandoned kid. He could have kept quiet, but he chose to act this way. So, I am glad he got slapped, TWICE!!
I am loving our OTP progression.
Cha Rim - They are making it harder and harder for me to root for her and TY. ok, he didn't stop her from going on the blind date, but she has been very clear that she cares about money. But sadly, she also knows his feelibgs for her. So they both are kinda non commital or rather willing to commit only on their terms.
I can't help but wish Tae Ung finds someone else and she finds someone too. I just can't see these two together.
Loving our OTP progression... loved their office moments.

I'm team Cha Rim. Tae Woong hasn't shown her any signs of taking her fears about financial instability seriously. If he just said, "I'm going to make money and take care of you", she might feel like she could rely on him but he just ignores her worries and wants her to meet him where he is. Cha Rim isn't ready to blindly trust love, she knows how hard a life of poverty is. Right now, the only image he shows her is a guy who settles for helping out at the laundry shop instead of trying to find something better.
