Shin Hye-sun wishes happiness for To My Hae-ri

New promos have been steadily dropping in for ENA’s upcoming romance To My Hae-ri, this time introducing us to our characters played by Shin Hye-sun (Welcome to Samdal-ri) and Lee Jin-wook (Sweet Home 3) in the latest stills and video teaser.

As our central heroine, Shin Hye-sun takes on the part of the polished but prickly Joo Eun-ho. For 14 years, she’s been toiling away at her job as an announcer but her career hasn’t blossomed in the way that she had hoped. Adding to her heavy plate, her 8-year relationship with boyfriend – and fellow announcer – Jung Hyun-oh (Lee Jin-wook) has ended and she also struggles with some kind of family trauma.

In the teaser, Eun-ho expresses that every day feels like she’s burning inside and the captions describe her as someone who just wants to be happy. In stark contrast, parking attendant Joo Hye-ri (also Shin Hye-sun) enjoys a rosy, sunny life, with each day just as happy-go-lucky as the next.

We then finally get some confirmation on how our two ladies are linked and the video ends on a shocked Hye-ri learning the truth, asking, “You’re saying that me and this person are the same person?”

How they handle this might make or break the story and I’m curious to see how our second leads Kang Hoon (A Time Called You) and Jo Hye-joo (My Demon) become involved as well. With production led by PD Jung Ji-hyun (Lies Hidden in My Garden, Twenty Five Twenty One) and writer Han Ga-ram (I’ll Find You on a Beautiful Day), ENA’s To My Hae-ri will be premiering next month on September 23.

If its about a split personality type person, SHS is the one to play it and do it justice. Definitely gonna give this a chance.

I agree. She might be the best actress of her generation and one of the best of all time. She makes every character, every scene believable.

I agree with you completely. She is my very favorite actress precisely because she really is the very best.

The parking attendant hiding behind her hair reminded me of the female lead from Salon de Nabi. I am interested in this one but have a suspicion it may need the four episode window to prove it’s worth the watch.

I LOVE Shin Hye-sun, but the plot doesn't appeal to me, so I'll be waiting in the wings until Beanies sound the all-clear 😅 Also, Kang Hoon 😍❤️

“You’re saying that me and this person are the same person?”

So, carrying split personalities to the next level, with separate bodies too (like a certain Buffy episode)?

Then the solution will be to merge the unhappy announcer and happy parking lot attendant to one one unified sort-of-happyish parking lot announcer??

We've already had at least 4 kdramas about accountants. Isn't it time that parking lot announcers get their due?

So you're telling me that FL not only does have a split personality for, I assume, some time with separate JOBS for each persona, but also one of the two was A PUBLIC FIGURE in serious relationship for years until very recently yet no one noticed something's off? That's a bit of a stretch to my suspension of disbelief, drama.

So very excited about this one. I will watch SHS in anything, well, except Welcome to Samdal-ri😊

Shin Hye Sun in another multi-personality drama. Sometimes I think the actors get stuck in strange grooves (like eidetic memory for PHS).

But it's Shin Hye Sun and she is so worth the watch. So that's there.

I hope it is not one body two personality story. If it is, no wonder the announcer is "burning inside". The girl is holding two full time jobs and even one is enough for a burnout.

Never like drama too out of reality, nor LJW is an exciting lead, but I’ll try it for SHS and ENA is becoming a brand to trust.

Definitely needs a Beanie feedback before considering hitting play. 😱
