    He sure is easy on the eyes, isn’t he? Sadly for me the answer is that he seems to specialize in shows I don’t want to watch. But I can recommend Marriage, Not Dating – a classic.

      That is exactly my problem!! I’m just discovering him in A Virtous Business (which is yum) but everything else he’s been in was/is not something I want(ed) to watch. I even tried Thirty Nine just for HIM and I couldn’t do it. I will definitely check out, Marriage, Not Dating. Thank you so much much for that recommendation 💛

Finished ARE YOU THE ONE. I’m going to dearly miss these characters that felt like friends I could root for and journey with through all the ups and downs. One of the best shows I’ve seen this year.

        I have just started One and Only (and not because of the similar title 😂 It has been on my list for a long time).

        I was undecided between Destined, The Starry Love (a xianxia) and One and Only.

        I tried The Starry Love but the first episode wasn’t the kind of drama I want to watch now (it seems a cringey comedy), so now I’m starting One and Only.

            I have watched two episodes of One and Only and I can say it’s very good so far. It’s promising.
            And the music is amazing.

        Yes. Though the really turbulent weather is usually in April here. There’s a poem in Danish that says “April er ej at stole pΓ₯, hver dag hun ta’r ny kjole pΓ₯” (“April is not to be trusted, she wears a new dress every day” or you could say “She wears a new dress every day. Do not trust April. Wait for May”)

          Haha, poor April, not to be trusted 🤗 I was born on the last day of March and consider April my intro onto the planet so she has a special place in my heart. It’s also autumn in my part of the world so almost always perfect weather (mild, nostalgic, cosy). Are you in the NH? That means April is your spring…why pray tell is your weather more turbulent then?

            Yes, as the little poems indicate, April is our crazy month. before that, it is cold, and after that it is … Danish summer. It always snows some time during April and after you have declared “Well, not it really is spring, or even summer.
            Snow has happened in May, too, but very rarely. Like 1979 and 1984 … and I believe, not since then. Also, during WW2 there were some extremely hard winters, and in one of those years (1942, I think?) it snowed in May. But all that is very rare.
            April, on the other hand … anything can happen. 🔥❄️🤣😉

ARE YOU THE ONE: 29/40 Our hapless hero. Am I the only one feeling like Mian tang is being really stubborn 😣 Why do dramas conflate stubbornness with female empowerment? They are not the same thing!

    I have watched 28 so far.
    She is so cold and stubborn now… I love the drama and the main couple, but she is too hermetic. Maybe some voice-off lines could have helped us to understand her.

      That’s what I thought too! I even thought that I had missed an episode where something happened that made her turn cold becuase it felt like it came out of nowhere. Well, not nowhere, but she recovered her memories and suddenly she’s a ‘different’ person. They didn’t even even have an initial conversation were she could have laid all her grievances down and been angry with him. But that scene where she stabs him with the hairpin looked like the first time they were addressing the situation openly and that wasn’t much of a conversation so I’ve been wondering if I missed something. Some voice-off lines could certainly helped. I still adore them as a couple alot and that part where he helps her out towards the end of 29 made me feel much better 🥰

    It seems like it will require all 40 episodes to untangle the threads. Not likely to suffer from a repetitive plot line.

      It will be delicious if it continues to stay true to itself. But it would be understandable if there’s no happy ending. The tangled threads (lies) just keep tightening.

    I’m a little behind. I have watched six episodes.
    I’m enjoying this messy couple. I love his expressions and the way he acts with his eyes.
    And she is a delight.

      Isn’t she just! 🥰 Me too, his facial expressions are everything. It took me a while to get used to his speech pattern and by a while I mean like 3 episodes 😂 They’re so messy and so good. You’re keeping a good pace. *I* should go slower because I don’t want to be waiting for episodes and it seems to be taking Viki a day or two, at least here in my region (Australia).

    I still have about 30 episodes to go, lol, but I concur. The direction, acting, and writing are all distinctive and addictive. I’ve only had to ff slightly here and there (which is HUGE for me with a cdrama, because when I watch them, I often end up ff 60% of them away and skip ahead because I get so restless and bored). I just finished the exam episodes and wow! They were so beautifully shot and compelling, although I did think the two musical performances went on a touch too long. But we’re just starting to see romantic interest from the Duke, and it’s so good.

      It’s a true slow burn romance. I envy you with the 30 episodes to go! My bestie is at the same place too. I wish I could watch it again for the first time. I like how distinct the musical pieces were in the end. After Ruo Yao performed I couldn’t see how it could be surpassed so I liked that Fang Fei’s piece took us in a different direction. Yes, they were a bit long but enjoyable. I can’t wait to hear how you experience all the fun episodes ahead 🤗

THE DOUBLE: 23/40 This show is spectacular. I cried and cheered. 23 episodes of consistent characters, zero fillers and tight plotting. What a heroine! And a leading man who is worthy of her. Bravo.

    I’m not typically much of a c-drama fan, but like you, have been impressed with this one so far (although I’m only about four episodes in), and mostly because of the FL. She’s truly clever, and the writing is therefore clever, too. In these episodes I haven’t seen very much of the ML, which is one source of frustration for me, even though I know this isn’t primarily a romance. But what I have seen has only made me want more.

CONTENTED BLISS: I can settle into the sweet relief I feel after watching episode 9 and 10 of MSM. Overall, the show feels on track to stay true to itself and I am happy about that. No, I’m blissful.

    My bets are on a first kiss! They could only wriggle out of this in episode 8 because they gave us that sitting-on-a-bench-in-fairy-lighted-garden-drunken-situation. 😂👀😅

    Serial killer introduction is a Genuine fear, I always worry about the Truck of doom. The only place TOD was used well was in lovely runner🤣🤣
    Hoping for a confession from Mr Cheekbones ❤️
