Alrightey! Just watched Ep 14 of Itaewon Class!
SRY finally does what I have been fearing for a while.
Geun Soo is still unpredictable.
Geun Won is as predictable as always.

    Potential Unpopular Opinion alert: midday musings.
    While I totally get why SRY is now attracted to YS, I still have a hard time shipping it.
    Perhaps I am still too mindful of the age gap. It does admittedly become much less of an issue after the time jumps.
    17 yr old and 27 yr old : nope
    18 yr old and 28 yr old is very iffy.
    22 yr old and 32 yr old is less iffy.
    25 yr old and 35 yr old ok !
    But this is subjective (except the minor one, which is just NOPE!)
    Don’t get me wrong, I love YS’s character! I love that she is a very strong female lead.
    I just wish we had more to her except everything that she does for the male lead.
    Like, take away SRY and we don’t have much about her anymore.
    e.g.: We have the ex-gangster, the one trying to find his family, the LGBTQ+ (which thankfully was very well handled! Go Hyun Yi! you’re the best! love her support for YS too), the second son, the spoiled brat and more.
    I guess that would make YS the ex-sociopath?
    I’m sorry, I don’t know why this one case is bothering me out of the literal 100s of dramas I have seen.
    Perhaps I expect too much from dramas now.
    Perhaps what doesn’t sit well with me is that the only reason that SRY is looking at her as a woman now is after 4ish years of her doing everything for him. She was already close to him as a DanBam family member and he loved her as one.
    Can we have one drama where they don’t have to have love line fulfillment for everyone all the time?
    In my ideal scenario: YS’s love for SRY morphs into platonic love and SRY continues to have familial love for her as he does for the other DanBam family.
    I’m not saying that SooAh should end with SRY. But theirs would be a slightly more than platonic love, history and all.
    I used to ship Geun Soo with YS, that is until he went over to the dark side.
    How do I just not have ships in this drama! I would be completely satisfied even if this drama ended with no ships sailing.

    To start off: I absolutely adore the drama! Love the pace, love the concept, love many of the nuances!
    Why I don’t ship SRY and YS:
    One of the leads is literally 10yrs older and the other is fresh out of high school.
    They meet when she is in HS and she falls for him, hard.
    He already has someone he likes and has liked for over a decade.
    He has made it clear multiple times he only sees her as a partner in business and is indispensable to IC and is basically family now.
    If they do pursue that love line, it will be like pushing puppy love.
    More thoughts later perhaps.

    I just watched it this morning, I was going to just try it on for size, but couldn’t stop till I finished. I decided to check it out
    when I heard it is the same pairing as the young version of the 17 but 30 couple.
    It wasn’t what I was expecting but I liked it

      Right! I went in thinking, oh nice, another sweet coming of age teen story.
      It is so different than what I expected and a lot darker too!

Is anyone watching Perfume? I just finished Ep 1(or 1+2 half episodes). It’s interesting. I’m just hoping it doesn’t fall into the fat-shaming category but goes the empowerment route

Alright Abyss ! You have my attention! Solid first episode. Good Set up. Loved loved loved the 1mil stars cameo by Seo In Guk and So Min. It raised the right #of questions. Can’t wait to see more!

Really impressed with Psychometry.The rooftop scene has an almost accurate distribution of stars in the sky including the Orion constellation. Love that as an astrophysicist!Love it dramas get tiny-

    Love it dramas get tiny details right that most people won’t even notice but they put in the effort for the small portion of people who will notice it!

    I was wondering if they would even be able to see stars at all though considering all the light pollution and fine dust. I haven’t seen stars in years 😢

      True. I live in the city and see them after a good rain. But otherwise it’s hard.

      You can usually see Orion even from fairly polluted cities, but it’s not as pretty as you see it in the dramas haha. The main/brightest stars that form the outline of the constellation will be visible but not the fainter ones.
      If you go away from the city though, if you squint, you can even make out the Orion nebula near the belt of the constellation!

Can’t believe it has taken me this long to start : Come here and Hug me.
I’ve been in this mood since Radiant/The light in your eyes. So this drama is a perfect follow as I wait for the last 2 eps.

Just finished Romance is Bonus Book. Beautiful! Kang Byeong Jun’s words in the last episode were so moving! Loved loved loved the behind the scenes of a publishing house! the romance was a bonus 😉

I also finished Top Star Yoo Baek today. Cute drama, nice comedy fun all around and an interesting look at life on a small island in the countryside! (much needed break from crying over Radiant)
