Beanie level: Water maid

No matter how wacked the show has become, it’s no denying that #ExtraordinaryYou still holds such power over me. I just can’t stop thinking about it.

Like right now, I’m reading Tale of Two Cities and the whole time, I just can not stop associating it with EY (I blame love triangles). I find it hilarious that I hate BK with the fire of thousans suns, yet love Sydney Carton so so much; and that I adore sweet Haru with all my heart, yet at the same time low key want to punch Charles Darnay in the face :/

Why, EY, why?!?!
I was rooting for you so hard! Up until yesterday, that is.
(It’s not too spoiler-y, but I’m putting my little rant in the reply, anyway)

Ep 13 was disappointing and terrible.
The preview indicates that Ep 14 is going to be worse. Maybe not, but I’m not hopeful.

What are the writers smoking? Is it because they are filming in a rush? So the writers do not have the time to think it through before they submit the script, right?
Or because the “love triangle” is popular now so they are milking it?
If that, then I’m telling you writers, it’s not working. This tug-of-war between Haru and BK is not helping anyone, you know? Both the characters and the viewers.
It definitely does not help Dan-oh with her heart problem.
BK can get lost with his “scars” and his “I don’t care about your heart”. I honestly do not give a damn about him, but how dare you ruin my Haru, writers? How dare you ruin my precious, who was going to be one of the most wholesome male leads of all time in dramaland, huh? How dare you!

You have such a good thing going on, why are you ruining it for the sake of “love triangle”? I thought your purpose is to making fun of it? Or have you forgotten what you’re here to do in the first place, writers?
And don’t get me started on the editing, it’s so obvious that they are filming in a rush.

My God, if you are going to end up like this, why did you have to start out so perfect, show?
Why did you make me care and then breaks my heart like this?

I’ll have to agree. I also think it’s because of the lack of ratings. Ratings pull the plug of a writer’s creativity. Now that they know the love triangle works, they are probably told to go in that direction. But that just finishes their initial characterizations. Dan oh looks weak in front of those two guys and Haru is more controlling all of a sudden. Both these guys don’t care about DO but how only they can stay with her. I thought this was a show with a good strong female lead for a change but somehow it has become like the troupes and cliches it is mocking.

This is so true! I was watching yesterday’s episode and I told myself: am I even watching the same drama?
I don’t even have the strength to comment on it…
it’s reminding me so much of Cheese in the Trap…….

Sigh, the first 20 episodes were so great, and then they just had to go and do my boy Deng Lun dirty😒 I couldn’t even bring myself to leave because I love Phoenix and Jin Mi too much. Why show, WHY??

Heavy Sweetness is going to kill me at this rate. I haven’t cried this much since SDQ, and it’s only at ep 33/60. I have no idea how am I going to survive the last half 😭

I might have been slacking off Kdrama a little bit because “Heavy sweetness, ash-like frost” has taken over my life. I have been watching the trailers and OSTs over and over. SO.MANY.FEELS! 🤧

I’m glad that I don’t know anything about medicine and hospital, because I am really enjoying #Life. I like that all of the characters are complex and it asks some really, imho, interesting questions.

Well then Life totally works in your favor, isn’t it? It focuses more on politics so we don’t have to deal with as many bloody situations as other medical dramas 😀

I wouldn’t have watched it if it wasn’t for that stellar cast and this writer <3
side note : I didn't like deputy director since the beginning and his knee operations are hard to watch , another minus point for him haha x)

Exactly. I’m glad I don’t work in medical field so I can blissfully ignore some medical-related flaws in the plot. (Though I do want to know what’s the medical beanies think about this show)

It does raise many interesting social issues and question the effevtiveness of the existed medical care system. The characters are complex and behave like human, with interesting and unpredictable relationships cropping up here and there. I’m only 5 eps in, but I’m pretty certain I’ve already fallen in love with this world.

I\’m not a fan of Kim Eun-sook\’s works, but watching a drama on Netflix the same day as it is airing in Korea, without having to wait for English sub, is the best feeling ever!

Seeing some beanies starting to watch NIF on the fan wall, I was inspired to re-watch the drama on viki. I have a question for fellow NIF fans below.

Reading the comments, I’ve realized that many viewers perceive Prince Jing as slow and stupid, which I definitely disagree. He may be emotional and hot tempered when it comes to the people he cares about, but apparently he’s smart enough to rule a country (based on what I’ve heard about NIF 2, he seems to have done the job just fine)? What is your opinions on this?

I don’t think so at all! I think he was just largely indifferent to power, and so he did certain things that would anger or annoy those in power, which would seem stupid politically I guess? So in addition to being highly emotional like you said, he just didn’t care about anything but his principles. Principles that I think would make him a good leader.

Thank you, I was a bit frustrated when comments there kept using 50 shades of the word “stupid” to describe him :)) You’re right about him valuing his moral principles more than anything else, that’s the essence of his character, the whole point of MCS’s grand plan!

I haven’t read comments outside of DB, and I have never seen viewers here say that he is slow and stupid. Yes, Water Buffalo was principled and uninterested in political intrigues, but that doesn’t mean he was stupid. On the contrary, he was prudent. If Mei Changsu saw that as king material who are we to disagree?
Jingyang doesn’t show up in NIF2. We only know that he did a god job, but nothing more.

Yes, we should not disagree with MCS :)) I’m so glad to know that not everyone doubt his intelligence.

I haven’t watched NIF2, but I know that he has already passed and did a good job during his reign. Do you know that even the author Hai Yan, while writing the novel, had to speak up to defend Prince Jing herself to the readers? I was quite hilarious, you can feel the frustration in her words!

Ermagad, the last two episodes of Suits tho!!! The show sure does have its problems, but the ep 15/16 really sold the bromance to me. THEY.ARE.SO.CUUUTTE 😍
