In my humble opinion, Shin Hyun Soo can be a saving grace of any drama (of course, besides my old favourite, Lim Ju Hwan). In BOSSAM he finally played a second lead role, and he was the only one who livened up an otherwise average drama. PS Burgundy (and a shy smile) suits him perfectly.
Day 15: Secondary Characters You Will Never Forget – The ensemble cast of Selection: The War Between Women. In the end of the drama the three teams formed an alliance against our ridiculous love birds that I couldn’t stand watching together. I, for my part, wished their enemies a successful palace coup, but to no avail. Ha ha.
Of course, the noble and nice SML, who fighted for a cause, had a character transplant and turned into a power-hungry and jealous one so the ML could shine out.

I loved all the girls who took part in the queen selection, too.
I’ve got a thing about sageuks starring certain ahjussi actors.
Day 14: The Drama That Could Have Been But Wasn«t – it’s a tie between Tale of the Nine Tailed and Selection- The War Between Women. Both of them started promisingly but then went downhill when the „epic and grandiose” love story became the centre of attention. My initial enjoyment turned into a hate-watch. At 32 I’m past the age when the only thing I care about is romance. I need meaty stories. Both drama had the chance of being fresh and inspiring but halfway through them the writers decided to play it safe instead.
What’s Up was great, he was great and it all was so underrated ☹️ He’s never gotten his really big break and I’ve been paying attention since the movie Millionaires First Love in, like, 2006? He was in a tiny bit part but totally jumped off the screen.
Day 8: OTP You Didn«t Think You’ll Adore – Ye Ji & Hwan
Day 9: Drama You Watched Just Because And Ended Up Loving – When I Was the Most Beautiful
I loved Hwan’s confession of love to Ye Ji (and Jin). He finally opened up about his feelings to his brother and Ye Ji. This scene – and the whole drama, in fact – put me in a melancholy mood. They showed that profound quiet love is a very valuable thing, it is the most enduring and can survive any harsh times. I’m glad to have watched this show despite its flaws and its open ending.
„She was the first person to repay me. for my kindness. Even when I had brought kimchi all
the way to Seoul for Mom, she only complained. Dad was only worried about you. And you were never interested in me. Ms. Oh thanked me and gave me flowers. She said it was the first time
someone had ever shown her kindness. It was a good thing. But she was sad, not happy. And I could understand her. I know the loneliness one feels when one always gives but never receives. She didn’t buy those flowers. She went to a field and picked up yellow wild flowers one by one. Then she gave them to me with both hands. I had never seen anyone who looked so grateful because of me. When I told her I was studying architecture, she took photos of nice buildings. She even made drawings and created a scrapbook. While searching for you, I had to check dead bodies. She knew how hard that job was even though I hadn’t told her so. She just knew after reading my reports. She cried for me. She knew I was struggling and in pain. She understood my feelings before anyone else could. I didn’t know that understanding each other could make me feel so whole.”
Day 1: ML You Will Never Forget – Seo Hwan (When I Was the Most Beautiful)
Day 2: FL You Will Never Forget – Oh Ye Ji (When I Was the Most Beautiful)
Day 3: PPL a Drama Feels Empty Without: I can see coffee brands and foldable Samsung phones everywhere.
Day 4: Drama You Couldn«t Finish – I dropped Flower of Evil after 5 episodes. It began to take the usual »misunderstood hero« route.* yawn *
Day 5: Drama You Finished for the Bean – Find Me in Your Memory
Day 6: Drama You Know You Will Rewatch – I might seem to be a masochist, but I’d watch When I Was the Most Beautiful once again, plus the first part of Selection: The War Between Women (until the OTP got together and the love story was the centre of attention) and Chip In. The latter was an intriguing whodunit with offbeat characters played by great actors/actresses.
Day 7: The OST You’re Obsessed With – there was a lot of OSTs I liked such as the OST of 365:Repeat the Year, Chip In and When I Was the Most Beautiful.
365: Repeat the Year: I loved it! One of the best kdrama ending. A great OST which was not overused but fitted with the athmosphere of the drama. I can say for sure that I’ll rewatch it one day.

29. Best Confession: My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho
I liked that ML was kind of theatrical – that was just his way. We need to take into consideration that he’s certainly come a long way from being an immature and carefree person to turning into a mature and responsible adult.
There was a great analogy between Miho wanting to become human and Cha Dae Woong needing to grow up.
“-You’re a gumiho. Then you should eat raw meat, why are you trying to cook it?
– I’m pretty human-like. I’ve worked really hard to be a human.
– I see. My grandfather’s always telling me to become more human too. Avoid raw meat and become human. That’s really easy.
– It’s not easy. It’s not easy at all to become a human.”
#30DayDramaChallenge
28. Drama Cliche You Can\’t Stand: Keeping a secret from your significant other
For example in CLEAN WITH PASSION FOR NOW, ML demands to know what he’s done to upset her and her entire family. FL offers him no further explanation than she’s already given, that she’s tired of everything and tells him to believe whatever he wants and walks away. The End. AND WE\’RE SUPPOSED TO BELIEVE THAT SHE IS IN LOVE WITH HIM. Then FL, while crying over an unconscious ML pledges that she did not really mean to break up with him, that she\’s missed him. But when he does wake up she goes back on that promise. SO ANNOYING.
Seldom have I been so upset about a drama like about CWPFN. I felt cheated. A fluffy, cute drama turned into a contrived, angsty, cliche-ridden melodrama.
I was going to watch this one because it’s only 5 episodes and because I love Lee Se Yeong, but I read all the comments in Viki and decide to pass… I mean… bad comments in Viki the place where Melting Me Softly has 9,2… this one has 8,0. It must be painful…

26. Best Bromance: Won & Rin. The sorrow I felt over a girl coming between them was almost too much to bear.
Honorable Mention: with a twisted mind I would say the trio of Lee Hyun, Min and Lee Joon-Ho from I REMEMBER YOU. One thing’s for sure – there was an unique male bonding between them. It’s a real shame that two of them were psychos.

The drama portrays the baddie’s downfall with touching pathos but without lapsing into sentimentality. There were powerful performances by the actors and actresses, namely Honey Lee, Ahn Nae Sang, Seo Yi Sook, Kim Ji Suk. You can just feel the pain of the characters through the marvellous acting. Each of them have something they believe in, they refuse to settle for less, make a life-changing decision -whether it is right or wrong- and stick fiercely to them to the very end. One choice can change everything. If only I lived my life with this kind of passion, too.
Song Do-Hwan no longer sees a reason to live after his teachings, his legacy to wich he has devoted his entire life has been destroyed.
“If it was not for Gil Dong, you would have been one of the high officials and I would have been a mother who made her son into a high official. This is all because of them. How dare they, how dare they, how dare they…”
In the video posted below, I always watch this scene of Nok Su, the now delusional King, the Head Eunuch, and Nok Su’s loyal friend waiting for their inevitable ruin with a heavy heart.

22. Drama With The Best Ending: Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People
The ending had such a huge emotional impact on me that the closure of the drama left a great void in my life which can never be filled. That thrilling experience I felt the first time and that waiting in eager anticipation for the last 6 episodes to come…ah, I have fond memories of it. An epic OST just added to the unforgettable experience.
The drama finished on a hopeful note. The bad guys get what they deserve. Mori finds a family. Everyone is happy. The good guys vow to never fail the people in their moment of need.
