So what have been the ‘it’ dramas of the past 2-3 months? I saw some initial positive responses to Run On. Is it still good? I may binge that next. Anything else been catching the beanie eye? How did Uncanny Encounter fair? I saw something about the writer leaving mid-drama. Does the Ji Chang Wook curse persist, or was Lovestruck in the City palatable? I has questions.
Can both be true? Many things about Lovestruck are annoying and for the first few episodes I was just watching because it was there but now I find myself waiting for it.
Agree with @beffels. IMO, the JCW curse persists, in that I still find him pretty mediocre in this and the first few episodes would be pure drudgery but for the top notch side characters. However, even the main couple become entertaining as the show goes. The FL, whom I initially despised, is also now pretty okay in my books.
My favorite drama of the last 3 months was the Chinese drama Love is Sweet which finished airing back in October. Of the currently airing dramas Mr Queen is my favorite but I’m also enjoying Run On.
After years of K-drama watching I was getting burned out such that all of the dramas I was watching started to feel formulaic. It helped to switched over and start watching C-dramas (and a few Thai-dramas). There have been some really good Chinese dramas over the past few years. The bonus of watching Chinese dramas is that all of them are pre-recorded such that they may air anywhere from 5 to 7 days a weeks and some dramas may even air 2 episodes a day (unlike k-dramas that only air 2 episodes a week). The downside is that the government censorship which can sometimes results in content being cut.
That’s understandable. I’m just coming up on my third kdramaversery, so I’m not tired of them yet. Even so, I still enjoy switching countries every once in a while to shake things up a bit. So far I’ve seen 2 J-dramas and 1 1/2 C-dramas (Put Your Head on My Shoulder and half of When We Were Young 2018 [which I will definitely finish at some point]).
Skate Into Love is already on my to-watch list! I’m saving it up for when I’m in the mood for something cute and fluffy.
Run On is a delight and I doubt it messes up in the last two episodes (at least I hope so).
I’m enjoying a lot Lovestruck. Not the best drama ever, and I probably won’t end as I want, but still lots of interesting things about it.
I enjoyed The Uncanny Counter a lot until episode 10, more or less. I mainly FF the last four episodes and I won’t be there for a second season, but it’s the biggest OCN success ever and I’ve even seen somewhere there would be a third season, so…
Oh interesting. I didn’t realize Uncanny Counter (I am just now realizing it’s counter, not encounter. It’s been encounter in my head all this time lol) was that much of a ratings success.
I have yet to find the motivation to click play on a multi season drama. Hospital Playlist is really the only one I can think of that I definitely plan to watch.

Going into the last episodes this week and it’s excellent. I can’t imagine how they would falter.

I don’t spend much time in the c-drama realm, so I hadn’t heard of Love is Sweet. I will make a note to investigate that later. Thanks!

Ji Chang-wook curse persists, although Lovestruck is actually okay.
Run On is definitely the “it” drama IMO. It’s really good.

Run On is really good. Its my next fave after Mr Queen. While Uncanny Counter is also good but it lost the momentum with the writer swap debacle.
