Watching Steph Curry (Golden State Warriors) competing against his former Splash Brother Klay Thompson (Dallas Mavericks) was like watching Na Hee-Do competing against Ko Yu-Rim.

Jeong Nyeon and Twenty Five Twenty One have some massive similarities.
Kim Tae Ri is the obvious one as the talented dreamer.
You also have mentor, the rival, the friend, and the mom with a troubled but linked past.
And hereβs one more.
This same random guy who is blessed to be the insightful catalyst for the KTR. Heβs the random guy who comforted Na Hee-Do at her lowest and heβs the same guy who gives Jeong Nyeon confidence on the bus. Same guy, just an alternate universe
What Comes After Love
It well past my bedtime and after 2 enthralling episodes- Iβm ready to give it all the beans.
Please end well because the things you love the most can hurt you the most
Drawing Closer
Iβm on roll with Jdramas so bear with me as the kdrama drought continues.
I watched this show on a flight. Big mistake as I was a sobbing mess. On a scale of 1-10 tissue boxes, this is a solid 10 tissue box.
A boy with 1 year to live meets a girl with 6 months to live. It was touching, it was sweet. It was so emotionally engaging. I want to be a better person after watching this show.
I loved this movie. It was so sad AND so uplifting at the same time. I think Iβm in a depressed funk right now enjoying all of these sad Jdrama movies.
Iβve been in a Kdrama slump this year with very few shows that were impactful enough to me to warrant much of a discussion. Hence a lot of radio silence from me for most shows these days.
Then I stumbled upon this Taiwanese/Japanese show. What a gem that is hidden in plain sight on Netflix.
Itβs beautiful. Itβs bittersweet. Itβs powerfully emotional.
The cinematography is outstanding.
Itβs about a 36 year old man in Taiwan who has lost his way after founding a successful company (portrayed by the talented Greg Hsu from Someday or Oneday). Heβs hit rock bottom. I can relate- I feel that Iβm stuck in a similar situation.
He then travels to Japan in search of a girl (the stunning Kaya Kiyohara) he befriended 18 years ago.
Itβs a nostalgic view about self discovery. It about realizing that life is short and the ephemeral moments that make life special. Itβs a reflection about life and living.
If you are human- you will cry.
It heavily references a 1995 Japanese movie Love Letter which now needs to be on my watchlist.
Finished jdrama Meet Me After School
Do not recommend.
I thought it might be a cute age gap theme like Something in the Rain.
Instead, it was a whole series of bad incongruous life choices. 🫤
I LOVED “25-21”, but I have not been watching Olympic fencing these days (I only watched a bit of the tennis matches last weekend). Btw, South Korean Oh Sanguk is everywhere now (at least in my Instagram).
Chicago Typewriter
Something that been in my watchlist forever but was never available anywhere in the USA.
I randomly found it on Pluto TV for FREE and legal.
Halfway thought and itβs a gem.
Iβm 3/4 of the way through and itβs soooo much better than anything airing right now. I can see why itβs highly regarded. Other than some male anger issues, it has held up really well.
I thought I was falling out of the kdrama orbit for a while.
And then The Atypical Family pulls me right back in.
Also great to see the its okay to not be okay kids reunited.
I just finished it. Had zero expectations going in because Iβve been on a dropping spree. Catching up on the comments and most people didnβt like it. I love it.
Atypical Family had that same effect for me too. It pulled me back to kdramas and commenting on DB. Prior to that, had been dropping kdramas serially since Knight Flower.

Glad you’re enjoying it! I see some of those elements you’re mentioning – I also feel shades of Hello, Me! which is one of my favorites. After only two episodes, I’m ready to say I love it 😊
Farewell to an amazing show that captured the precious moments of life in the most beautiful heartfelt manner.
I will remember this show forever.
Iβm going to need to take a break from Kdramas for a bit. This show took a stranglehold of my soul and itβs going to take a bit of time for me to wrangle my soul back. I donβt have any emotional energy left to spend on another show.
This show took a stranglehold of my soul and itβs going to take a bit of time for me to wrangle my soul back. I donβt have any emotional energy left to spend on another show.
While I still found the emotional to keep plodding through kdramas, it is really comforting to note that someone shared my sentiment about TMTYLM taking a stranglehold of the soul. I thought I was overreacting when I felt the same way cause it got so overwhelming at some point.
Seems that “Tell Me That You Love Me” is one of those dramas that resets the bar in our expectations and responses. @mmmmm had commented on similar vibes.

Lovely Liar plus Lovely Boxer minus the Lying Boxer but add a dose of Runner.
Sprinkle in some high school time traveling Twinkling Watermelon and the forboding tunnel from Twenty Five Twenty One and you get
