@cliosservant1846ervant
Indeed. These people should get a life.

Had they put in a fraction of what they devoted to such vitriolic pursuit of vindictiveness against a celeb into their career or passion, they would have achieved great things in their own name.

It's the same thing with office politics, I always feel people who have so much time to play petty politics should just sublimate their excessive energy into real work, they would have gotten promoted much faster lol

@cliosservant1846

💯 agree!! The world wasn’t like this for me, either, growing up in the 90s. It doesn’t take anything to be kind—it’s a natural thing, actually, we were born kind—but being mean/ vulgar/ vindictive/ malicious is all taught and learned behaviour.

And to those who say that dealing with antis, hate, being stalked, harassed, being thrown vitriol, and (death) threats is a “part of the job”— no it’s not. Full stop. HARD. FULL. STOP. I will die on this hill and stand by this fact until the very end.

The plot reminds me of stuff just like a certain country is going through right now. How à propos. Ro Woon, will you come rescue me, too? Have passport will travel.

I love seeing Rowoon taking on a gritty role, Park Seo Ham has been sorely absent in dramas, and you can't go wrong with Shin Ye Eun. That said, I think this is going to be too dark for me to enjoy.

Sounds fun, but the k-drama adaptation would have his wife disguise herself and meet him on her travels- disguised either as a girl he charms or a boy that travels with him- either way, he and his wife would fall in love with each other and there would be a romantic happy ending as he goes off to work at the end determined to support his family. (Korean dramas on the whole support a capitalist narrative)

I just listened to a few books on Audible that I wouldn't mind seeing in drama form:

The Name Drop by Susan Lee - An American college student begins an internship at the Korean company her dad works for and finds herself in a prestigious executive training program. Meanwhile, the son of the company owner finds himself thrown in with a group of overworked, underpaid college interns. The source of the mistake is that they share the same Korean name. In a "Prince and the Pauper" like twist, each decides they would like to see how the other half lives, but can they keep up the deception or will their parents find out and put an end to the best summer of their lives?

Falling for Korea by Piper Jean - American teenager Sydney Moore is suddenly packed off to Korea to stay with friends of her mother, a family she has never met and knows nothing about. That family turns out to be one of the wealthiest and most prestigious in Korea, and their oldest son is charged with helping Sydney acclimate to her new life and school - the uber pretentious Daeshim Academy. Neither one is happy about their parents' arrangements, and why has Sydney's mom has mysteriously gone radio silent?

XOXO by Axie Oh - Jenny is an award-winning classically trained cellist who prefers practice to fun. But after a disappointing competition performance she meets a mysterious and handsome Korean why helping at her uncle's L.A. noraebang and ends up on an all-night adventure with him around the city. It is not until she arrives in Korea to care for her ailing grandmother that she discovers her one night distraction was with one of the newest and hottest K-pop idols.

Script by the writer of All of Us Are Dead.

FL was impressive in Jeongnyeon... will she have a chance to sing/chant here?

Anyway, I'll have to give it a try.

This looks very interesting, though the September premiere date might prove to be a problem. Counting this one, there are 11 dramas I'm interested in that premiere next month, and that is simply way too many.

I'm looking forward to this drama.
The trailer doesn't disappoint.

I almost didn't recognize him in the still, this could be interesting.

Thought about it some more, and I think the Murderbot series would be perfect. I haven't seen the apple version, but I read several of the books recently, and the key thing is, Murderbot loves dramas.

"He is much too sweet" was an answer to @amnesiayawns suggestion that Seonho play evil sexy boss in Bridget Jones' Diary.
I do agree though that he has smarmy dimples.

I think he is much too sweet for the role, in a good way. It needs someone with the "I'm irresistible and I know it" vibes. Of course you never know what a good actor has up his sleeve.
But my first thought for Seonho would rather be the ML. Someone who seems a little uptight but is super nice, someone you can giggle with over the food that is ruined.
After having seen Gong-yoo in Squid game the evil sexy boss could be him, for example.

Right off the bat, before I check my bookwyrm list, I can think of Free Food for Millionaires, by the author of Pachinko. It features Korean-Americans in NYC, which would be great as is, but I think the story could easily be moved to Korea.

I too was shaken to my core when I saw that the coach who assaulted a student was still employed. Who wrote this? Anyway I need to stop complaining since I'm the one actively choosing to watch these episodes at ×3 speed, maybe I missed something
