After My Girl, I love her. Lol, I thought she was so adorable even though her acting in MG seems to be more like that of an Anime. I like the main guy in MG though. He acted really well in funny scenes even without to be too much. ^^
However, after Hello Miss - like a few episodes - I started to get tired of that cutesy way of her acting. It made me feel that she wasn't being herself - because she was acting a role of course - but sometimes one can still be natural in a role. I thought she was trying too hard in looking cute. She is gorgeous as she is, why try so hard?
Bandit, I'm quite confused with the story but I'm not too interested in it. These days it takes a lot to interest me in a long drama. I think I'll try to watch at least an episode or I might not even get to it.

I love the movie. Actually I didn't love it enough to watch all of it. I thought it could have been shorter and made better. I think the reason why it was so lovely was because of the beautiful scenes, melancholy musics, and the way the actors/actresses portray the series. However, to make it into an animated version is a bit too much. What was loved a long time ago should remain untarnished. I think that the plot itself isn't absolutely fantastic but the combination of everything else like musics, scenes, and talents of actors/actresses make it lovable.
Well, I'm a mellow person so I dig dramas that are more deep on the feelings. I think WS has a lot of deeper suffering feelings that I can somehow relate to. I can never watch a sad series fully again so there is no way I will be able to tolerate an animated version.
Whatever the outcome, best wish to the project! ^^

loooooool at "look at me i’m so CUTE ooh CUTE CUTE puppies pretty giggle! don’t you just love me and my baby-talk voice oooh! oppa oppa! bouncy balls and perky little animals *vomit*”"
i think she should stick to more serious roles or something closer to my girl ... theres a fine line between being capable and ridiculous...and she definetly crossed it with Hello Miss!... hope "Robbers" aka "Bandits" doesn't make her ridiculously annoying as her former acting role did...ugh...
you are right javabeans...she's sooo capable..hope she would explore that more...

Ah beans, you've indeed been quite harsh on our lady here. And as a fan of Da Hae, I did feel a bit offended. But I forgive you, because you're right about what you wrote..
I thought perhaps she mastered YR so well in MG that ppl tend to stereotype her..giving her cutesy and acty/OTT roles, now making it too much for us to endure.
I just hope that Robbers or Bandits or whatever it will be called afterwards can change ppl's minds..

Oh yes, she's a fantastic crier. When she's crying (or acting "natural") she's brilliant. When she's being cute, she often walks the razor's edge between adorable (most of My Girl) and "look at me i'm so CUTE ooh CUTE CUTE puppies pretty giggle! don't you just love me and my baby-talk voice oooh! oppa oppa! bouncy balls and perky little animals *vomit*"
note, she's definitely not the only actress like this. but she's probably the most talented one who's like this and therefore the biggest waste when she caters to her self-indulgent vanities.

I'm a huge fan of Winter Sonata and BYJ, partly because it was my first K dramas I've seen. I have to agree that turning it into a cartoon is a bit much. I even forced my husband to watch it and thought it was ok.

Ah, Robber/Bandit will be competing with Hong Gil done then... I'm still looking forward to Bandit because I loved Lee Da Hae in "My Girl" and Jang Hyuk in "Thank You" (he was awesome) but I must say that the story itself doesn't sound too interesting... especially after having watched "Thank You" it kinda feels like a rip-off minus the AIDS thing (which provided an interesting twist to the story). Hopefully the writers will be taking the current story to a new level and surprise us in a refresh way... Korean writers usually seem to have a knack for that sort of thing ^^ And yeah I sure hope they won't portray LDH as angelic and self-sacrificing... that would be like "Thank You" all over.
Either way, between "Bandit" and "Hong Gil Dong", at present date I'd pick the latter :P I just watched "Capital Scandal" and boy was Kang Ji Hwan good! ^^ Since I have him fresh in my mind I'm really anticipating his next drama! The coming drama season is going to be so interesting~ Besides those two, "Cosmetic Surgery" is going to air in January as well XD

Wow, I'm surprised that so many of you agree with me, LOL. I really thought I'd be in the minority on this one, because I can recognize that the series isn't BAD -- it's just completely not my taste. My Choi Jiwoo allergy also did not help. (I couldn't get past the fact that it looked like a thirty-year-old woman was trying to be a cutesy 18-year-old. Choi Jiwoo is gorgeous but she definitely looks her age.) Perhaps the "simple melodrama" genre has also fallen out of vogue (but then again, you've got Thank You), and maybe current kdrama fans prefer a different, zippier style.

Agreed on everything re: her overacting, but I still have to say she is awesome at crying. I think she's the best crier -- it never fails to get to me, even when I'm totally expecting it.
I also think sometimes the acting cute makes for occasional hilarious moments (I laughed so much at the how-to-make-kimchi-mandu scene in H!M), so I forgive her for it.

I like her cuteness, but I want her to take a new role where she is not at all cute, she is a either incredibly sad character, or a serious bad ass. I want her to prove that she can extend herself and b serious. Cute is nice, but it can only do so much. I will of course be checking the show out for LDH, and we will see what happens.
