The good new is:
1. Jang Dong-yoon.
2. 8 episodes.
3. SBS production. Hopefully SBS is still one SK network that knows how to produce good/great crime dramas.
4. As a US viewer pleased that Netflix US has a marker for this drama.

Interestingly this drama is making me go down memory lane vis-a-vis our FL actress Go Hyun-jung. I have not watched a Go Hyung-jung drama since her controversial appearance in SBS’s RETURN (2018) (Kocowa). RETURN was a SBS crime drama and I watched it early in my kdrama days and I I remember it for the FL replacement and the bad boy MLs.
Here is a DB post from back then:

Nice to see all is forgiven between SBS and GHJ (I hope lol).

@mazarin

I also think it’s early on! When she’d come out of an all-nighter trying to save the flowers for when the Princess and he, himself, were visiting the Liu Residence for the very first time in the drama, and he’d noticed just how much love and care she’d put into the flowers, not even caring about how she’d appear in front of guests. I think he fell for her unpretentiousness, first and foremost

I was next to you thinking, surely with a house this nice he doesnt just dump his trash by the sidewalk like that?

When do you think that was? I think it was very early on, but he doesn't know it for another 20 episodes. After he returns from visiting the mansion at the beginning, we see him telling his friend about the amazing person he met. (In the context of business/accounting, but still...) (Does he tell his friend its a woman? I can't remember)

@zindigo @gikata and anyone else I missed (sorry) yes today Disney+ updated MR as "Coming Soon on August 26". I bet a whole bunch of American Disney+ subscribers scolded them. The good: they now know subscribers are waiting to watch MR. The bad: it better be good. The really bad: unprofessional screwup at Disney which is a very bad look. Do Better Mouse.

Xu Kai's accent was good enough for AS BEAUTIFUL AS YOU just like Wang He Di's accent was good enough for DAFENG. Dubbing is just a crap move by the production.

It is a sign of a maturing cdrama industry when performers demand terms in their contracts like intimacy standards, own voice dubbing, even casting approval for top actors like Xiao Zhan. Once a performer becomes bankable and successful, they can force this. Granted, they aren't always the smartest person in the room, but they are a key ingredient and should have a say. (And just parenthetically, LYN knows how to make decisions independently, when warranted, and he will. He also knows the value of silence.)

It only takes one Olivia de Havilland to force a change.

@mazarin

I’d have to watch back, but you could be right!! In my head, I only can pinpoint when when Li Xian’s character fell in love 😅

@zindigo glad it worked for you at least!

@cliosservant1846 I'm sooo sorry((( Now people say Mouse will finally drop it on 26th (the nerve!). Linmon, listen, I love you, I really do, but pls, do yourself first a favor and fire whoever is responsible for handling global distribution deals of your dramas, this is not the way!

Re: dubbing: totally agree. I think it's ultimately decided by director, given multiple controversies lately when actors finished they own dubbing only to be replaced by VA last minute without being informed prior to airing. Yikes. Guess Xu Kai's accent/line delivery were not up to PD standards? Or, also possibly, he didn't have time for dubbing - man is filming non-stop from what I hear. I think we all know the guy who 100% has self-dub clause in contract, but can't be sure about anyone else as they probably don't have that much say about what's written in theirs.

Mary Kills People: Episode 5

I am so annoyed there are no subs for this episode, but what an episode it seems to have been. So Jung is under a lot of pressure, poor woman. Also, poor Jae Yeon, having a crush on such a bitchy petty girl. A mess, woof.

@nessa @isagc I don't fully agree with you. Yes his possessiveness was a factor, but the real issue-for both him and the princess- was obsession, an inability to let go. Obsession is awkward in ordinary people, but in people with great power, who can do whatever they want, it is dangerous and hurtful to society.
The reason I say that it was not just possessiveness, is that Miles actually 'falls' for her before she leaves the marriage. He sees the dedicated work she puts into the peony cultivation and values it.
