    How many awards exactly has Kim Soo-hyun been nominated for for Queen of Tears to warrant this inciting statement? Correct me if I’m wrong but if the only award nomination on group is the recently done Baeksang awards, then you’re reaching.

    I perfectly understand your position with respects to Kim Hye-yoon. And Kim Soo-hyun shouldn’t have gotten a nomination at the Baeksang awards this year cause that might nip any awards they could have gotten in other categories in the bud. Next year would have been perfect. Sadly, it has happened.

    It is really sad when a group does the heavy lifting and only one person is receiving public love. It is really displeasing to note. Kim Hye-yoon deserves better from the fanbase of Lovely Runner.

      Have any dramas been nominated in their second year of eligibility? Technically, Queen of Tears could have been nominated either this year or next year as eligibility is between April 1 to March 31, but doesn’t Baeksang always nominate the first year the drama becomes eligible? For example, The World of the Married?

        The nature of the nominations Queen of Years got at the Baeksang differs from The World of the Married. The World of the Married got 4 nods at the Baeksang and won 2. Those categories were spread across the production. The nominations Queen of Tears got this year were nods at Kim Soo-hyun. I hope this doesn’t come off the wrong way but the awards not spreading across the production kinda nipped their chances of competing at the Baeksang next year in the bud. QoT really had some powerful performances. But we’ve had stellar performances this past drama year that perhaps surpassed QoT’s. So with them getting a nomination this year was funny to me. And that the nominations were only directed at Kim Soo-hyun kinda leaves bad taste on the palates of those who feel the other actors and factors of productions were snubbed.

        And as if Kim Ji-won was not enough, Kim Hye-yoon is suffering same with Byun Woo-seok.

        Bottomline… if Kim Soo-hyun was the only person to get nominated in the wake of the various performances and work in QoT, Baeksang should have waited till next year.

        Baeksang doesn’t ignore works that aired early in the drama year, we saw that with My Liberation Notes. They could have waited instead of what they did this year. At least next year, QoT could have gotten nods in more than one person’s category.

          But My Liberation Notes was only eligible in one year as it was released after April 1. Based on precedent, Baeksang has never waited until a drama’s second year of eligibility (The World of the Married, Vincenzo, Twenty-Five Twenty-One).

          The reason why Queen of Tears got only one nomination is because the competition was too strong. In the Best Actress category, Kim Tae-ri, Han Hyo-joo, and Park Bo-young were all snubbed. If Kim Soo-hyun had not been nominated this year, then no one from Queen of Tears would’ve been nominated at all. Even if Baeksang did wait, who’s to say next year the competition wouldn’t be stronger?

          P.S. I don’t believe that Kim Hye-yoon will be nominated for Lovely Runner next year.

    Imo k entertainment industry’s audience is mostly young women and they usually only have eyes for young men. Even in this site everyone were going crazy over BWS but hardly anyone mentioned KHY.
    I am a little bitter about people not appreciating KHY enough. But I think it’s the human nature after all. We can’t force people to love sth. 🤷‍♀️

      People have literally begged every show to get Hye Yoon….that includes Running Man when the news first came. People thought its because of agency change. This time around this isn’t because Kim Hye Yoon has no fanbase, its just the industry is misogynistic as hell. I hear this same excuse in tennis conversations. Women can’t draw crowd or they don’t have audience….yet Naomi and Iga today gave the most thrilling match of the at Rolland Garros to a crowd that couldn’t get enough.
