That drinking to the point of needing hospitalization was probably my second favorite scene in that episode- precisely because it was portrayed honestly and not leading to a 'cute' moment.

Well, I'm not very good at the episode by episode analysis---but I'm going to give it a try since we have a long way to go, and for a change, I made it to the start of a drama! I really liked the drunk scene of our female lead. For a change, drinking too much led to a realistic passing out and time spent in the hospital getting stomach pumped. That was some poor drinking judgment so I appreciate that it didn't lead a cute and funny piggyback rides. In fact, I believe that scene hints to me that this drama might go some interesting places. Our male lead seems like a time bomb ready to explode. The weight of responsibility is a theme (at this point) and perhaps, there is a generational shift.

@cliosservant1846 Unfortunately, after reading the novel, I had imagined someone much taller in Xiao Jue's role. So I am still getting used to Cheng Lei. :)

Interesting, I have the sense that the parent's marriage is not a model good marriage, but rather a marriage of much discomfort for the mom/wife. The way he (father/husband) yelled at her (mother/wife) about opening the fruit felt uncomfortable to me. And, her relief of getting money from her son was also exposed. I sense some trouble in this marriage.

Of course as soon as I saw a post from OL and SS (Sublime Spouse) I reached for my notebook to record recs. Will add "Glass Heart" to my list. Have you all watched Love of My Lion"?? Such a wonderfully compassionate take on living with a sibling on the spectrum.

I find myself both enjoying and being frustrated by this drama. I feel like we're making some progress with episode 4, but I just really want to know what's going on with Ji Hyuk. He's so closed off. I know he's been unhappy with his job trajectory, and it looks like that's an area that will be "helped" by marrying Bo A. I put helped in quotes because I don't think he'll be any happier being handed a position, even if it is one he deserves. Although he was against the marriage with no love idea, I wonder if ML2 kind of wishes he were in that scenario given his father's ridiculous ultimatum.

Ji Hyuk gets to say he doesn't want to date her. He doesn't even need to explain why. And why he has to explain it over and over, and in different ways, yet she still seems unable to take no for answer. It was very weird for a woman in her 30's. I wouldn't have been kind after all that either.

My Lovely Journey 📷 ep3-4 it was cute but lack more story between the leads. I do like the bit of backstory between our agency CEO and Yeoreum. Its interesting how they met. I also find their story more interesting. I want to know more about our ML. Even if I found the drunken convo between our ML and CEO entertaining. I want more story movement between our ML and FL.
Low Life 🚤 ep10-11. Finale. It was an exciting ending as betrayal after betrayal gets revealed. Greed at its ugliest and deadliest. The team was very unlikely to make it till the end since it was built on lies. I still feel sad that it ended the way it did. Its like the fulfillment of the worst possible scenario. I didnt expect that end credits though, I didnt expect him to survive. Also I am not sure I am convinced at the love story since it seemed tacked on to give him a happy ending.
The Legend of the Female General ⚔️ ep1-6 The backstory was very messy but I think I got it. Then when our female lead joined the army, it got better. It reminded me of Mulan though. It didnt help that her team is like Mulan's crew. I am enjoying it now but let's see how long I will stick with this.
The Princess's Gambit 🎭 ep20 dropped. Lost interest to pick it up again since I am liking the other cdrama more.

The show does not need all of these subplots. The illness from the coach, the rugby team, his ex girlfriend.... this alone is just fine and dandy. The evil gunsquad coach and vice principle is a tiring subplot. I believe coach Bang will come around. ( I do not see why rugby and coach Bangs team could not share the space to practice- this would forge new alliances ) A very enjoyable show, nonetheless.

First, @lovepark I totally agree with your overall recap, but, as far as Yi-ji shooting Coach Jeon, I assume she would have been using an air pistol shooting BBs, which of course could put your eye out as my Mom always said to discourage me from fooling around with them. But if she shot him in the leg or back I think it would at most raise a welt.
What I found absurd about that scene is that even a Coach as villainous as he was would be so vehement with his star shooter as to grab her and then menacingly try to yank her up when she was obviously bleeding. Its not as if she a nobody—we know her Mom was an Olympian. What would happen to him if the word got out that he’d injured the star daughter of an Olympian?
I do find it interesting, as @kurama says, that the shooting team is getting so much show time. I know shooting is easier to show than rugby action. But I’m not so sure the dynamics of the shooting team leads are that much more interesting than the stories of the two rugby team leads, although of course they exactly reflect each other, with the mean Moms and single Dads, two obsessively pushing their children to succeed, two pushing their children to quit. I don't get what that juxtaposition is supposed to illustrate--sports parents are a negative influence regardless of the sport?
I have to rant again about Ga-ram’s failure to say anything about the reason he was taking steroids. When caught he still would have been disqualified, but his life would not have been destroyed—not to mention, Yi-ji’s shooting career and his relationship with her could have perhaps been saved. There is absolutely no one, no matter how unreflective they are, that could fail to see that silence on this would bring unnecessary terrible consequences, both for him and Yi-ji. So what will the show’s ultimate explanation be? That, having initially remained silent "for Yi-ji’s sake," he felt he couldn’t say anything after that? Why?
Its that aspect of this show that I felt absurd from the beginning and where I feel it misfired—even more so than in making the vice principal and the shooting coach such villains. There are many ways Ga-ram could have been disgraced— pushing his teammates too hard because he wanted to win; or alternatively be secretly injured and accused of choking in a key game; or if the writer wanted a more serious moral failing, make him a recovering alcoholic or something. Anything like that could have provided the classic redemption that you expect in this type of story and not seemed totally implausible.
But here, what lesson will the ML will learn? Be sure and tell people when you get a chronic auto immune disease? I don’t think we need an inspiring sports story to teach us that!

Muhaa, she was a true Witch with covering herself with that video / photos. 😆 But yes, Maknae is actually lucky she let him go (and was straightforward with him, no lies during the break up). I mean, I hated what she did and she did hurt him... but at least the cut was clean and short... and yes, she is gone, hopefully forever.

Episode 3
Jihyuk looks cornered... and tired by life constantly changing his plans to independence from his family... though I think his own pride (and filial duty) are partly to blame as well. In his current state of mind, he wasn't particularly kind to Eunho, but honestly, Eunho was getting on my nerves with her behaviour and I hope it is the writers intention to have a growth arc to maturity for her, because right now I agree with Jihyuk: Eunho is NOT the right partner for him.
And... I'm much more interested in the brewing contract relationship between him and Boa, his old friend. 😊

I'm not sure to understand Woo-jin's mother. She's pretty scary with her daughter but doesn't seem to care about the rest. And the coach and the Vice-principal act like she wasn't present in her daughter's life...
This story should have been about the rugby team and the members. The shooting team's drama takes too much screen time. I-Ji should have chosen what she wants to be : a coach or a athlete.
Ga-Ram should be honest with everybody because of him they suffered from the backlash of the dopping rumor. He just ran away and let them taking the blast.

I 100% agree about the subplots. If I-Ji needed to be a character, eitger make her a coach or a player, not both. U ji deserves her own shiw and not to be a weird subplot/ romantic interest. The villainy of the coaches is so TIRED. Their 2-dimensiality is exhausting. Plus mediocrity always shows itself, that other girl's dad is not helping her at all, let her win or lose on hwr own merits.

Wow this was the first time I was kinda grossed out by a kissing scene in a kdrama. Not even the actors felt any chemistry. They were just bumping lips and moving their mouths like fishes on dry land.
And I feel like their reality is actually also virtual. Hee Ju is clearly a an NPC who's always on standby to aid the protagonist and fills up her time in between with actions that don't advance her in any way whatsoever.
Her sister Min Ju seems to be an actual PC because she displays character, free will and a drive to advance her levels. I wonder if she's the only PC because non of the other characters seem to have much depth outside of the storyline either.
Nevertheless I do like the story. It's very much like old cyberpunk novels I've red. But in kdrama format.
