Gu Kyo-hwan (Parasyte – The Gery) is in talks for the drama remake of Inside Men, potentially taking on the role played by Lee Byung-heon (Squid Game 2) in the 2015 film – which itself is based on a popular webtoon by the same title. Set against the backdrop of the 1980-1990s, the period action-thriller stars Song Kang-ho (Uncle Samsik) and has production led by PD Mo Wan-il (The Frog) and screenwriter Lee Ki-chul (Escape from Mogadishu). The Christmas spirit continues in the latest poster for MBC’s Motel California with our romanticist dad Choi Min-soo (Numbers) enjoying the holiday vibes while Lee Se-young (What Comes After Love) is the picture perfect grumpy daughter, sulking off to the side. Also bringing eager beaver Na In-woo (Marry My Husband) to our screens, the romance will be airing on weekends, premiering next week on January 10. [MBC]

It’s going to be a lovey-dovey start to 2025 on multiple fronts with SBS beginning the new year with romance as well, sparking a hate-to-love relationship for Han Ji-min (Behind Your Touch) and Lee Jun-hyuk (Dongjae the Good or the Bastard) in the latest teaser forLove Scout. Reporting to work later this week on January 3, the office drama follows The Fiery Priest 2 in the weekend slot. [SBS]
Also joining the weekend lovefest from the great beyond in outer space, tvN is letting us know When the Stars Gossip with Lee Min-ho (Pachinko) and Gong Hyo-jin (When the Camellia Blooms) headlining the sci-fi rom-com. Releasing a new preview ahead of this week’s premiere, the series will be making its orbit around our screens starting January 4. [MBC]
KBS dropped more stills for Please Take Care of the Five Eagle Brothers, showcasing our prickly hero and hotel chairman Ahn Jae-wook (Not Others). Acting opposite the all-capable Eom Ji-won (The Trunk), the family weekender stars a hefty ensemble cast and is slated to broadcast in February, after Iron Family concludes its run. Production has PD Choi Sang-yeol (My Lovely Boxer) at the helm with scripts by Gu Hyun-sook (No Second Chances). [10 Asia]

1. I'm not familiar with Inside Man, but I like both actors, so will check it out.

2. If ir was just CMS and LSY, count me in, but alas.

Inside Men was a huge box office hit headlined by Lee Byung-hun and Cho Seung-woo, with LBH winning awards left and right for his role. Political thrillers is by and large a genre that Korean movie makers do well in - and it reflects the strong political awareness among the Korean citizens. Just wondering who will be playing the respective roles of LBH and CSW. Great to see Song Kang-ho in a drama again whose Uncle Samsik is seriously the best drama in 2024.

Jan 4 will be a busy watching days with Love Scout and When The Stars Gossip. It has been a long wait for Seo Writernim’s WTSG which she wrote after Jealousy Incarnate and before the currently aired Iron Family - which is my favorite drama in 2024.

Looking forward for Love Scout. I need something warm and hopefully funny this 2025. 2024 is still not ending and we already have some sad news. May 2025 a better year.
