This show is a gem. If you aren't hooked by episode 3, you can safely drop...but if you catch the bug for this family drama with all the feels, stay along for the ride--it gets a little bumpy in the middle, but it ends strong and with tons of heart.

Heartwarming with a dose of healing. It might be just me but I found it more entertaining than the original version.

Aww I’m bummed this doesn’t have more comments. It’s a lovely show. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. It is full of a lot of heart and warmth. This family is precious and deserved every happiness. I have tender feelings towards this show and I hope others will give it a chance <3

Wholesome, rather harmless show. Male leads are swoony! All the characters are watchable. I liked the setting in the Busan area. Pacing was pretty even throughout. Also there's no love triangle, yay! Just happy found family feels and sibling camaraderie. Everything gets tied up neatly at the end. Maybe a little too neatly, as some of the plotlines in the last few eps felt forced. Main complaint would be the lack of character differences before vs after the time jump, which I found a little strange. Never seen the C-drama so can't compare on that front.

This is just a really lovely family drama which has the outstanding feature of show how men can be wonderful parents and people if they reject toxic masculinity.

My one grouse is that mothers and other female figures (aside from the FL and her bestie) all lean heavy into negative female stereotypes who behave in toxic ways.

Otherwise, it's quite the pitch perfect family drama with some romance woven in.

This is Go Ahead - the lite mellow edition.

A pleasant heartwarming family drama with found family trope and healing themes.

I appreciate FBC's faithfulness to the OG C-drama, while still injecting its own nuances and interpretation of the distilled key story beats and characterisation. Not easy, considering how excellent the original Go Ahead is.

Those who like FBC should seriously considering watching the original 40-parter series too -- it's more intense, darker, funnier, and more heart-wrenching. The toxic ones remain toxic (just a different brand of toxic lol).

I am on the fence about watching go ahead. I liked the lightness of this version, so when you say dark, how dark are we talking? Do the dads remain wholesome?

very wholesome. The only dark thing is the toxic mom lol.
and the sufferings of the children -- they delve more into it - so there is greater pathos, but also greater catharsis and healing when the redemptive arc comes. Basically everything is amplified in the original -- so the humour is v funny as well and more characters and complexity in their interactions

Oh this sounds delightful! I’ll definitely watch the original then. Thank you :)

Do you get excited to read cliff notes? How about watching 5 minute movie summaries on Youtube? If you don't, you can safely pass on this show, which is a summarized version of a drama. The writing is boring. The direction lacks any emotional depth. The actors did well with what they were given. But, it wasn't much.

IMO this show is not worth watching. It was full of unnecessary melo, too much crying, annoying immature characters (except for both Dads and 2nd couple), lack of chemistry between the main couple and poor acting. The reason I am being so negative is that most of the screen time I was feeling annoyed/angry with the plot and the characters' behavior. I watched through the end only for the 2nd couple romance.

My favorite character is Hae Joon. I'm in awe watching his skill playing basketball during the game between his school and a Seoul school (can't remember the school's name) that I wished there'd be a spinoff about his basketball story (sport-themed Kdrama maybe), that and plus Dal 😄

And he is the brightest sunshine in this drama. I can't believe it that he is the annoying villain in Gyeongsong Creatures Season 2. Had to pay close attention to recognize that "Oh that's Hae Joon in FBC!"

I'm finally watching this drama to help heal my heart after watching Mr. Plankton. So far (after episode 2), it is working and I am loving it! I love all of the characters - except for toxic mom and the nosey neighbor. I love the "siblings" relationships and how they take care of each other and I'm looking forward to them growing up.

I have not seen the Chinese version, and although I understand (kind of) those that are wanting to have a remake of a drama they loved, BUT, I would encourage everyone to let this drama stand on its own. Why does it need to be the same? Just rewatch Go Ahead, and then try to enjoy this drama for what it is. Sorry, didn't mean to go on about that, but, I feel the comparisons are unfair.

I'm looking forward to more fun and a little heartache in the episodes ahead.
