Kang Tae-oh, Kim Se-jung
- MBC is working on a new historical called The Moon Flows on this River (roughly translated, working title), which has Kim Se-jung (Uncanny Counter 2: Counter Punch) and Kang Tae-oh (Extraordinary Attorney Woo) in talks to play our leading pair. With plans to air in 2025, the series is being billed as a sageuk version of the 2010 hit drama Secret Garden. [10 Asia, Newsen]
- Jung Hae-in (Love Next Door) is reviewing offers for his next drama project and one contender may have him leaving the neighborhood streets of Korea behind. Though the details have not yet been released, if Jung accepts he’ll be crossing international waters to star in a new Japanese series. [Newsen]
- Yoon Hyun-min (Bora! Deborah) and Jung Hye-sung (New Normal Zine) have reportedly been paired in a short-form romance about finding love again, called Single Man and Woman (roughly translated). Both saddled with things that used to belong to their respective exes, the drama’s meet-cute has our leads first connecting through an item-swap event. [Ilgan Sports]
- The KBS front has been busy, dropping new character stills of Lee Min-ki (Crash) and Han Ji-hyun (Spice Up Our Love) in the medical, crime-mystery Face Me. Directed by PD Jo Rok-hwan (Voice 2) with scripts by Hwang Ye-jin (Secret Mother), the series is slated to premiere on November 6 in the Wednesday-Thursday slot. [KBS (1), (2)]
- KBS also unveiled their last installment in the 2024 season for Drama Special, with Oh Ye-joo (No Gain No Love), Kim Kang-min (Family: The Unbreakable Bond), Park Ho-san (Goodbye Earth), and Yang Eui-jin (Flex x Cop) starring in Because My Feet Were Hot (roughly translated). Helmed by PD Lee Jin-ah with writing by Im Bo-mi, the coming-of-age story will be broadcasting on December 3. [Newsen]
- And now that all five titles have been announced, KBS’s Drama Special celebrates its history in the new teaser, while also offering a speedy preview of this year’s anthology. Airing on Tuesdays starting November 5, the season begins with The History of Us (previously Discuss History) starring Tang Joon-sang (Racket Boys) and Nam Da-reum (The Sound of Magic). [KBS]

1 - interesting pairing, but body swap in sageuk... with Joseon prince... can they really pull it off? I mean writers, not actors - they'll probably manage just fine from what I've seen of their comedy chops.

2) Jung Hae-in in a jdrama? yes ha ha ha YES! I'd love it if he starred next to Takumi.

Watching Secret Garden in 2024 needs some serious determination and constant reminder that this drama is 14 years old.
In my humble opinion it hasn't aged well at all.
The only reason to watch it now is that it singlehandedly contains 90 percent of the origins of today's tropes, references, jokes, and iconic moments!

100% to every word of this. And that's the only reason I watched it, too. It was educational for a drama newcomer, but not enjoyable.

Sageuk version of Secret Garden?? Is he going to wear a sequined hanbok handmade in Italy?!
I have 3 wishes for this drama.
1. They go all out with the comedy, while maintaining class and sensitivity.
2. They do some serious revamp on the main characters. Those two are too 2000s, I even disliked them in 2010, I definitely won't be watching them in 2024.
3. I wish for the body swapping to take more of the storytime, not like the original that only used it as a stepping stone for a cliche story of a jerk male harassing a tongue tied female.
I'll step down now and go sit in the corner and think about my shortcomings!

I am a fan of Yoon Hyuyn-min and always wish him well. According to Soompi this drama has already completed filming. It sounds like it could be interesting.
I wait for the reunion of Yoon Hyun-min and Jung Kyung-ho.

1. Omo ... do we really truly need a do-over of Secret Garden in Joseon. Btw who is cast as the mother-in-law. 😂 What will be the Joseon equivalent job of a fearless stunt-woman!? Will the ML wear a blue sequined hanbok!? Hmm, too many questions. But strangely enough I am excited. 🤭💪🏻 Hwaiting team!!
2. What is with all these cross-over dramas. It is a good trend though. Hope they keep it up.
3. Yoon Hyun-min on my screen. 😍 Yay, yay!! But what does short-form romance mean!? 2 episodes like Spice Up Our Love or four episodes or six episodes like What Comes After Love!? 🤔
4. 😍😍🤩🤩 Isn't the tsundere ML Lee Min-ki's best look. Probably not! 😂 I mean the man has acting range as long as (insert appropriate hyperbole 😉). But it is surely my favorite look. So I'm seated for this one. 🥰
5. Now this is a drama title I like. 😂 So put your feet in a ice-bucket!?
6. Nam Da-reum was in The Sound of Magic!? Of course he was. Cannot wait to see him in a grown-up ML role now. 🥰
