Park Hyung-shik, Heo Jun-ho

  • SBS is lining up a new political thriller, entangling Park Hyung-shik (Doctor Slump) with Heo Jun-ho (Bloodhounds) in a chase for money and power in Treasure Island (roughly translated). Slated to release in 2025, production has PD Jin Chang-kyu (Military Prosecutor Doberman) at the helm and scripts by Lee Myung-hee (Money Flower). [SBS]

  • MBC is working on the new campus rom-com Bunny and Her Boys (roughly translated), with Hierarchy co-stars Noh Jung-eui and Lee Chae-min headlining the coming-of-age story alongside Jo Joon-young (All That We Loved). Expected to broadcast early next year, the webtoon adaptation has PD Kim Ji-hoon (Check Out the Event) directing with co-writing by Lee Seul (Dear M) and Sung So-eun (Twenty-Twenty). [MBC]
  • Speaking of co-stars, the currently airing No Gain No Love’s Lee Sang-yi and Han Ji-hyun begin their sidequest romance in the first poster for the spin-off series Spice Up Our Love (previously CEO Menu). In a meta story-within-a-story setup that begins October 3 – streaming on Amazon Prime – the fantasy will be transporting our writer heroine into the world of her own racy webnovel, heating things up with Lee as the in-fiction character Kang Ha-joon.   • With the premiere of Iron Family just around the corner, preparations have already begun for KBS’s next, next weekender Please Look After the Five Eagle Brothers (roughly translated) and an offer is out for Yoon Park (Cinderella at 2 AM) to play a leading role as the fourth brother. Aiming for a 2025 release, the generational family drama will follow the eldest son’s wife as she’s suddenly widowed ten days after the wedding and takes on the mantle of the household head.   • Shin Ye-eun (The Secret Romantic Guesthouse) is reviewing a role in A Hundred Memories (roughly translated, working title), potentially starring opposite Kim Da-mi (Our Beloved Summer) as fellow bus attendants in 1980s South Korea. The period series has PD Kim Sang-ho (Thirty-Nine) attached to direct, working with writer Yang Hee-seung (Crash Course in Romance). [Newsen, Star News]
  • A new poster has dropped for Netflix’s upcoming Squid Game 2, re-opening the playground gates for Lee Jung-jae (Chief of Staff, The Acolyte), Lee Byung-heon (Our Blues), and Wie Ha-joon (The Midnight Romance in Hagwon) among many others.
