Upgrading (?) their title to Jeongnyeon – The Star Is Born, the first posters have dropped for tvN’s upcoming period drama with our aspiring performer Kim Tae-ri (Revenant) getting her moment to shine. Also starring Shin Ye-eun (The Secret Romantic Guesthouse), Ra Mi-ran (Cold Blooded Intern), Jung Eun-chae (Your Honor), and Kim Yoon-hye (Goodbye Earth), the 1950s performing troupe will be taking the stage on October 12 in the weekend slot. New posters have come out for Coupang Play’s Cinderella at 2AM as well, with our opposites-attract pair in a push-and-pull embrace. On her part, though, Shin Hyun-bin (Tell Me That You Love Me) isn’t trying that hard to resist Moon Sang-min (Wedding Impossible) and I suspect he won’t be an ex-boyfriend for too long. The wait is now short for us with the office rom-com premiering on August 24. [JTBC]

Love will soon be in the air for Song Joong-ki (Reborn Rich) and Chun Woo-hee (The Atypical Family) as well, with both actors now confirmed for the melo romance My Youth. Aiming to broadcast sometime next year, filming begins with PD Lee Sang-yub (Yumi’s Cells, Familiar Wife) at the helm and scripts by Park Shi-hyun (Run On). [SBS]
So Joo-yeon (The Midnight Romance in Hagwon) is becoming a webtoon PD in a new short drama called I’m Sorry I Confessed (roughly translated), taking on the rom-com’s central role alongside Kim Kang-min (Family: The Unbreakable Bond) and Yeon Jae-hyung (Man and Woman). Production is being led by PD Hwang Da-seul (To My Star) and rookie writer Do Moon-hee. [MBN]

In the meantime, promos continue on SBS with new stills for The Judge from Hell, where our pink-clad devil in disguise Park Shin-hye (Doctor Slump) will soon meet a my-oh-my detective Kim Jae-young (Love in Contract). Directed by filmmaker Park Jin-pyo (Brave Citizen) with Jo Yi-soo writing, the fantasy will be airing weekends, premiering on September 21. [SBS (1), (2)]
MBC released stills for Doubt (previously The Intimate Traitor), showcasing our gathered cast at the crime-thriller’s first script reading. Starring Han Seok-kyu (Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 3), Chae Won-bin (Sweet Home 3), Han Ye-ri (One Day Off), and Oh Yeon-soo (Military Prosecutor Doberman) among other talents, the series is set to premiere this October. 1) It's nice to get a drama focused on female characters but it's sad they chose to adapt the webtoon without the love story.

2) It looks fun but now the actors will have to convince me.

3 + 4) A lot of love stories in preparation for 2025.

5) I'm not sure about the style of PSH's character... She doesnt' really look badass. I'm happy for Kim Jae-young as a lead role.

6) Han Seok-Kyu is good in thriller too, I really liked him in Watcher.

So far, I think I'm looking forward to Judge from Hell and Jeongnyeon the most. The first because I'm pretty much always ready to try a campy fantasy drama and I'm interested to see Kim Jae-young in a lead role, and the second because I'll follow Kim Tae-ri pretty much anywhere. I hope they're both good!

No. 6. MBC’s DOUBT. I wonder if MBC will make nice and allow this drama (unlike let’s say BLACK OUT) to legally air in the US. I definitely hope to be be able to watch this drama.

I would also love to see Han Seok-kyu (and Seo Kang-joon of course) in WATCHER 2. It is five years since OCN’s WATCHER (2019) (Viki US) aired. It is my favorite SKJ drama.

1. This looks interesting and Han Tae Ri is always a must try for me.

2.Meh

3. I am a So Joo Yeon superfan, so I will try. I hope she gets to lead a full length drama soon.

4. I will always have a soft spot for PSH and this is a new type of role for her, so I hope it is good.

5. Doubt looks good and I will try HSK in anything.

#1 It has Kim Tae Ri who has been amazing in her previous dramas so I should not be worried.
#5 This feels like My Demon but with their roles reversed.
