Kim Hye-yoon goes into the past in Lovely Runner

What would you do if you were given a chance to meet your star celebrity in the past? tvN’s upcoming timeslip drama Lovely Runner poses this question to its lead Kim Hye-yoon (Snowdrop) who plays fangirl Im Sol. She’s given a chance to rewrite history for her idol Ryu Sun-jae, played by Byun Woo-seok (Strong Girl Nam-soon), but turning nineteen again comes with its own set of challenges.

The newest character teaser follows Sol as she wakes up in her high school uniform, including the iconic socks and slides combo, and she wonders if this is a dream. Of course, the first thing she does is run to meet Sun-jae and screams his name with tears pooling in her eyes. As he turns to look at her, Sol vows to protect them both this time around.

While finding shelter from the rain, Sol stares up at Sun-jae and thinks to herself that this is how he was in high school. She sticks to his side like gum — blocking his path, sending kisses, and jabbing him in the nostrils — but no matter how annoying she might seem to Sun-jae, it’s clear that she wants the best for him.

When it starts to rain, she shields him with her umbrella, not caring about getting wet herself, and smiles up at him. Though he is unaware of what the future holds, Sol knows what will unfold, so she promises to stay by his side and protect him. Messing with the past always comes with consequences, but hopefully for these cute leads, Sol can manage to save them both from their tragic ends and turn it into a happily-ever-after, instead.

Directed by PDs Kim Tae-yub (When My Love Blooms) and Yoon Jong-ho with scripts by Lee Shi-eun (True Beauty), tvN’s Lovely Runner premieres April 8 in the Monday-Tuesday slot following Wedding Impossible.

The start to the week is going to keep being good by the sounds of it. The more I see the more I feel confident that this is going to have the right mix of happy/sad. Please don’t be false advertising on the scale of Summer strike.

I am looking forward to this despite that dreadful lipstick colour on BWS. If they have to wear lipstick (anyone and everyone!), the powers that be at least should choose a natural and attractive shade that doesn’t look terrible on the actors.

It is hideous whatever colour it is. Why in the world would they choose that colour? The poor thing.

And to think they could find one worse that bright pink! Both are awful on girls and hideous on guys.

Thanks for flagging, I didn’t know it was going to be on Viki either so I have now added it to the watchlist.

This looks cute. I don't have much luck with time travel things keeping it all straight so hopefully this will be easier to follow.

I hope this is the right drama to fill the hole that'll be left open by Wedding Impossible!
