Watch it, it was delightful and fun. It was really well done. I admit disappointment at the end, but it still wouldn't deter me from recommending this drama.

A well-planned, well-acted, well-made drama. The production clearly understand the genre and its tropes, and expect viewers to be the same, so they utilize all the tropes in a way that both are cliche and unexpected. A fun drama all around.

I have to pause my intense-paper writing at the end of my grad degree to come sing the praises of this gem of a drama! I loved every minute of this show and think it was one of most satisfying watches I have had. Every single character is written and acted so well. Like many dramas it starts high on comedy and gets more serious as it goes along but it knew exactly what it was doing the whole time. I came to this show for a comedy break from aforementioned grad work and walked away so moved by the emotional depth. This show somehow manages to give you the most absurd plot-lines and yet the most accurate emotional truth with such assurance that you never doubt what the show is doing. Seriously, I spend so many dramas thinking why would the writer make the characters do that, those actions don't ring true, and yet here, even when they were actions I didn't like or was sad to see appear, I never doubted the truth in them. AMAZING. And for once, I'm totally thrilled that this gets a second season because I would love to see all of these characters continue growing together.

The rare case of a show becoming better with every passing episode.

Flex x Cop is fun, enjoyable, fast-paced and engaging. The development of the relationships feels very authentic and real. The two episode - one case format also allows for a second season to be on par with the first one.

All in all, it is a Taxi Driver type of drama - there are some ridiculous instances and questionable legal justifications, but there is a lot of heart and you can just tell that the writer enjoyed working on this one.

a rare insight into how a naturally creative brain works. Isoo is very much a creative individual whose mental landscape is a matrix, he can draw connections between anything, fast as lightning. but he is also hypersensitive like a creative person who can swerve into apathy & isolation. that doesnt destroy his emotional & moral integrity tho. his values are firmly in place.
too bad it is based on a russian series.

How to write an overarching review without spoilers for someone considering starting this drama? 🤔

The first thing to say is that many of us enjoyed it so much BECAUSE we went in with low expectations. So dial down accordingly...

It's a preposterous premise that suggests fluffy fun, rather than anything deep and meaningful, and the first few eps deliver that in spades. There's heightened action and comedy that give us an enjoyable, if sometimes silly, ride (in a helicopter!)😎

But what the writer does so expertly is also stealthily layer in complex characterisation and interesting relationship dynamics that we can emotionally invest in.👏 The cases of the week (or fortnight) sometimes have a few plot holes and aren't perfect, but are generally interesting and create believable ways for our characters to get closer.

As the series develops (especially in the latter part) the overarching backstory 'cases' of both the FL and ML start to come to the fore and this organically leads into slightly darker crime/thriller territory. But (to me, it's not everyone's taste) this wasn't jarring, and was really well done. 💖

There isn't the tonal whiplash of some of those 'serial rom com killers' as I call them! 😁There are still comic moments and characters we care about so it never feels truly bleak.

Also worth noting - there are developing friendships, and potential romance beats with the leads and second leads but these are treated like sprinkles on top of your ice cream - they add to the texture but are not the main flavour! 💕💕

Love it! Some wonderful beanie posted about how long it took to get his hair like that (from memory it involved a LOT of hair pins - which surprised me as I assumed it was cut/blow-dried/gelled within an inch of its life and wouldn't require additional scaffolding!)

The first 2-3 episodes are over-the-top and if you have a low tolerance for watching the rich indulge themselves, you may want to chuck the ML out the window. Those who enjoy the antics may feel like the police need to take a chill pill.

But don't drop it! Continue watching. It's worth it. Everyone calms down after the first few episodes and have satisfying relationships with each other. The camaraderie and support are fun and heartwarming to watch.

If you're looking for romance, it's only like 1% of the drama, and that is mostly with a secondary potential couple. We get an inkling that something may happen in the future. And no forlorn or scheming second lead or second female lead souring up the drama.

The final three episodes did have less fun and more of the cliche trauma drama or drama trauma, but they don't ruin the show because of the good job the writer has done in setting the foundation.

I recommend the drama and am looking forward to the second season.

The outstanding cast and the well-crafted side stories took the drama's simple premise and gifted us an underrated gem.
I would appreciate it if you spare a few minutes to check my thoughts on the drama.
Thanks in advance

Hey Beanies!
Production value on this show it pretty great. I feel like it's filmed in the 80's. Catchy music, especially at the end. I love the way they introduce each character/actor. Super clever.
I'm trying to figure out if the fade to black parts are just part of the 80's production feel or if they are really there for commercials. Any idea? Not sure how this is being shown in Korea.
Also does anyone else think the FL is Cate Blanchard's doppelganger???
