Premiere Watch: Sweet Home 2

Time slot: Friday (single drop)
Broadcaster: Netflix
Genre: Horror
Episode count: 8

Reasons to watch: If horror, gore, and disgusting monsters are your jam, get ready for Netflix’s Sweet Home 2. Much of the original cast returns for Season 2, and though I didn’t watch the first season, I am the first to admit that this is one highly appealing cast: Lee Jin-wook, Lee Shi-young, Song Kang, Jinyoung, Go Min-shi, Kim Mu-yeol, Oh Jung-se, and more! But don’t get too attached the idea of a happy ending for this found family of survivalists. There’s rumors of Season 3 already.

TL;DR: Long time no Lee Shi-young’s muscles

Kind of wish this dropped when the normal on air drama schedule wasn't so busy! It's going to be tough wanting to binge this but also keeping up with the other on air shows BUT something about this series does scream Christmas/holiday season - no sleep this weekend it is!! 🤷‍♀️ 😁

Are the monsters chaebols? That would be fitting.

I can't forgive the writers for killing off characters who don't die in the webtoon. Eun-hyuk was my favorite character.

I personally not a fan of the show because it just to gore for me, but I finished watching because of Lee Do Hyun. He was great in there but killed, so I didn’t think I would watch the second season. But again, I watched the trailer and it seems legit. Whoever made trailer is a good seller because I think I’ll give the new season a try.

I was a big fan of season 1 and Lee Si Young is my girl crush. I enever follow webtoons bc it is too bothersome so I dont care how it differs either.
I enjoy half human half monster characters so much. and what gore, exactly? I dont really understand people who say there is too much gore. it is a drama? and its like, just fake blood.
LOL I worked in art department on a student project once, we had no money, we had to use like rags dipped in sauce etc. but it is so much fun making gorey sthings, like you get to play with all this goo and slime and fake guts, you got no idea how much fun that is in real life. things can get out of hand because everyone is throwing fake organs at each other

In a very different register, there is My Man is Cupid on Amazon that started today too (with Jang Dong Yoon and Nana).

Thanks for the availability tip. MY MAN IS CUPID episode one is available on Amazon Prime US. It doesn’t appear to be a 16 episode drop a la Netflix so I am not sure yet on when the episodes will become available.
All that being said MMIC will be a pass for me and my third Jang Dong-yoon drama for 2033 (OASIS and SUNSHINE the first two) will be ENA’s LIKE FLOWERS IN SAND (Netflix) his ssireum drama. He is in great shape and should be excellent in it

Jang Dong Yoon is my favourite, but "My Man is cupid" seems like a hasty decision after the "Joseon Exorcist" fiasco because I read it was filmed in 2022. The first ep 1 was bland and even JDY is not able to do much with his character.

I didn't watch it yet. But it would explain why they didn't find a network to air it. It's not really good...

@emsel, I believe MMIC was originally an SBS production in 2022 that wound up on the shelf until being recently released OTT on Amazon Prime.
I consider MMIC a Jang Dong-yoon 2022 project and not part of his terrific work in 2023 which has for me wiped out the ‘annus horribilis’ of 2021 he experienced because of the drama that shall not be named. I couldn’t be happier for the guy. I am ready for SAND.

Yes, 2023 has been decent for him. "Oasis" had good ratings. His role in "Daily dose of sunshine" was loved by fans, so I hope this "Like Flowers in Sand" gives him another breakout role like the 2019 "Tale of Nokdu"

I am ready for SWEET HOME season 2 just recently having watched the original 10 episodes from 2020 on Netflix. SH is now my second favorite Song Kang drama with NAVILLERA (2021) (Netflix) being the first.
Aside, I liked the long hair look for SK in season 1 and was sorry to see it go.
