It can not be just me but I, a gangster, became a high school student - is giving off serious deja vu vibes from the title alone. I am sure it was either the gangster became his younger self like in 18 again or he swapped with his son or was in his son’s class but it really is similar to something I have seen.
Looking forward to Bora finally dropping so I can see if it lives up to it’s promise. A couple of the others will be added to the looooong waiting to hear more list.

I'm getting deja-vu too! I feel like there's a show- though I don't think it's a kdrama - where there was a serial killer who body swaps with this random high school or college girl?? And there was like a time limit to swap back before things became permanent or something. I have vague memories of seeing a trailer around, it's probably buried in the depths of one of my streaming watchlists.

It immediately reminded me of The Dude in Me, a 2019 korean movie starring Park Sung-woong, Ra Mi-ran, and Jin Yong. I thought the drama would be a remake of that, but apparently not? The plot sounds very similar, though...

Do you think its a case of nothing new under the sun. Also this is based on a Japanese manga but there may be shows based on the body swap comic appeal which needs opposites element to make people notice something strange so it’s limited range of gender, age or personality etc. swaps means similarities will occur.

Upon reading the blurb, it definitely reminded me of the film The Dude in Me from 2019, starring Jung Jinyoung and Park Sung-woong. It had the same tropes with Park Sung-woong as a man who's the second most powerful man in his gang, he accidentally swapping bodies with a teenager who fell from a building, and him fighting off his host's bullies. I'd definitely recommend it if you haven't seen it because Jinyoung is convincing as a fearless and experienced gangster, oh and there's Lee Jun-hyuk (born 1972) who delivered well on the laughs and punches (he has an impressive fight scene).

Thank you so much for suggesting this one as I think this is the one I watched but I only remember it vaguely so rewatching as it’s so funny. It is good to see some of my favourite ajusshis and Miran are in this. Jinyoung is brilliant.

Spirit Fingers sounds like a hopeful premise - it's been a while since we've had a webtoon remake and I think I've liked most that I've watched (that or I've filtered out the bad memories haha). Maybe time to fish up my webtoon account and start reading before this drama drops!

Also I know they say don't judge a book by it's cover but I'm now considering watching Bora! Deborah purely because I really like those posters 😂

Wow. There’s nothing here I’m remotely interested in besides Bora! Deborah 😔. I’ll have to wait for other upcoming releases.

I have read Spirit Fingers and I can say the casting is spot on. Jo Joon Young looks uncannily like Kevin. Choi Bo Min will definitely be SunHo. I love the webtoon and was waiting a long time for a drama version of it. So I am def looking forward to this show despite it being cast by newbies.

I'm just sad that the body-swap fantasy (I, a Gangster, Became a High School Student) will be removing the BL elements from its original web novel source material. 🥲

Oh, the original source material was queer? Well shit, this will definitely get censored big-time, that's disappointing. Makes me even less interested tbh.

I just finished watching Delivery Man and quite enjoyed it even with its "what the heck" moments cause I quite liked the lead actors. I think they both did a decent job portraying their roles, and speaking great voices to listen to, Yoon Chan-young has been added to my list. So, I might check the body swapping gangsta one to watch him in a different sort of role. Bora, Deborah has got my attention. Gotta watch Romantic Doc and of course the one with Joo Won in it.

For some reason, Yoon chan Young remins me of Yang Se Joon. I don not know. Is it the gaze he has in Delivery Man that reminds me of his role in Duel? Or perhaps some similarity in movement?

No. 7. BORA! DEBORAH. I haven’t seen Yoon Hyun-min dressed so flashy since he played Hyun-soo in HEARTLESS CITY (2013) (Viki US). I love it. I really would have been shocked if Joo Sang-wook was in that pic (presumably) letting loose with the rest of the gang.
I am still experiencing availability angst. Episode one airs next Wednesday and still i have not found a legal stream for US viewers. Fingers crossed that the rumor that this drama will appear on Amazon Prime Video.

Also along availability lines SBS is playing hard to get with DOCTOR ROMANTIC 3. It is three weeks before episode one airs but still no legal stream for US viewers has been announced. I am assuming (maybe foolishly) that it will appear on Viki US as did 1and 2. I am still waiting to see a pic of Mr. Goo.

I was impressed with Joo Sang-wook in "King of Tears." He's grown a lot since QSD.

JSW gave a terrific performance in KING OF TEARS. Personalty wise he played a similar character in ALCHEMY OF SOULS. That is why I am anticipating seeing JSW play such a different person in hopefully a rom-com.

1. Man, Yoon Chan-young is keeping busy. Good for him, I guess. Even though the wacky premise isn't really doing much for me in a post Reborn Rich drama landscape.

2. I'm alright with Uee when she's with other actors I like, but neither her or her costar are draws for me as of now.

3. Hard pass because I haven't even seen the second season lmao.

4. Kim Ji-seok lead role? Nice. Sadly, however, there's way too much on my watchlist to add in a first season of some show I've literally never heard of until this news bite.

5. It's good to see the writer of Misaeng working on new stuff, but nothing about the premise or cast (except maybe Park Ji-hoo if I try hard) interests me.

6. Another prosecutor/lawyer who's (most likely because dramaland) near-illegally hot-tempered and/or highly unprofessional? Nope.

7. Am I insane or do these posters look wayyyy too much like some of the posters for 2PM's fourth album Go Crazy! (2014)? Or is it just the presence of Chansung throwing me off? Somebody please confirm or deny because I can't stop thinking about this. Anyways, back to the actual drama being promoted - I love it. Everyone looks hot, the aesthetics are on-point, and it's by far the only drama in this article I'm even remotely interested in.

From the group above Nos. 3 and 7 will be on my watchlist.
In regards to No. 3, DOCTOR ROMANTIC 3, having not watched 2 probably would not matter. Jump right in to the new story.

I can’t help you with your question on No. 7 but I am with you on BORA!
Btw, according to MDL, BORA!’s writer is Ah Kyung who also was the writer for MAD FOR EACH OTHER (2021) (Netflix US).

7 - this reminded me of Marriage Not Dating party posters, minus the humorous angle of guys looking rather unhappy in contrast to overly excited ladies - here everyone seems to have fun. Hope it stays the same in the show too.
