Would You Rather #1

In dramaland, leading ladies often find themselves torn between the love of two equally attractive men — a choice none of us would want to make! But what if you did have to pick between the frustrating lawyer and the adorkable police officer? In our newest weekly feature, we ask you to make the difficult decisions — and we aren’t limiting our options to dreamy oppas.

Vote via the poll and feel free to use the comments to explain exactly how you were able to choose! So, Beanies:

As of writing this, the flute is winning by a landslide and I'm not surprised. Solving murders looks fascinating on screen but unless you're actually in a profession like that, it's just too much effort for not a lot of return. Also murders, whether fictional or real, are always so gruesome - not many people can stomach that day in-day out.

The flute on the other hand offers infinite possibilities with what we can do and be in the parallel universe.

That's exactly the reason for my vote for the flute.
(but if we were to vote for the oppa, my vote would have been the opposite...)

The flute gives us freedom when the talki-walkie gives us responsability for the victims and their family.

But I didn't like how the flute was used by the ML in TKEM. He just erased the story...

This is a no-brainer as the flute takes you to a parallel universe occupied by King Gorgeous

I want to be able to be across time without solving murder mysteries. I just want to enjoy myself so it's the flute for me. Just not in the way Eternal Monarch did it.

The logical part of my brain forced me to point out that you can technucally perform the function of the walkie-talkie by using the flute to travel back in time, but vice versa isn't possible.

I would vote neither.

Communicating in the past to solve issues in the present always brings up the quantum paradox of unintended consequences from changing the past.

Traveling to a parallel universe infers there is just one which probably would not be true. And it could be worse than your present. And how do you guarantee getting back to your old, real life?

When I first saw this I assumed we were choosing between Lee Je-hoon and Lee Min-ho, which is totally easy for me because Lee Je-hoon is one of my very favorite things.

BUT, I do not think I have the skillset to solve murders, as appealing as that is in some ways, so I'll leave it to the waaay more capable characters of Signal while I try not to mess everything up in the parallel universe.

The walkie-talkie should also be good for stock market tips.

You are not the only one @midnight.
As I've said before, radio waves travel endlessly on in space - they do NOT loop back in time. Physically impossible.
On the other hand parallel universe stuff is not out of the question. As long as one does not end up as bacteria of some sort.

Parallel universes simply offer too many possibilities to pass up. I want to see how other worlds differ from ours in minute or drastic ways; to see whether I exist in other universes and if I’m thriving or struggling in them. Maybe I’ll land in one where I’m dating Junho (jk jk… unless 👉🏽👈🏽).

Solving murders, on the other hand, do not appeal to me. As much as I enjoy a good thriller or murder mystery show, the actual gruelling work of catching perpetrators is brutal and not at all the swashbuckling experience copaganda shows try to portray it as. Also at the end of the day, it’s extra work and responsibility that I do not want. Give me the freedom of infinite universes any day.

I'll stick with my own universe, but I’d totally watch a drama with the FL moving among multiple parallel universes and - among many other adventures - finding herself dating a different guy in each one. I’m on the fence about whether they should be different MLs or should all be Junho playing different characters. None of them should be LMH, though!

Murders should be confined to limited roles in dramas and I have no interest in having any responsibility for solving them.

As much as the part of me who loves a big ensemble cast wants the different parallel universe guys to be played by different actors, the silly fangirl side of me has to go with Junho playing them all. Maybe letting each guy have a vastly different personalities/interests to differentiate them? Definitely no LMH, sorry to his fans.

Limited roles in thriller/crime dramas only. I have to clarify that because some writers are now taking that to mean putting them in every genre.

Wow, the very first poll and it was a hard one haha
So, I chose the flute because I would be curious about other versions of me in a parallel universe haha
I just know that would be a bittersweet experience but I would still be curious about it.

I'm not meant for trying to catch criminals haha

The flute. I need that flute. If there is the slightest chance I meet my bias there, I'd dare to give that universe a try XDD

I haven't watched any of these dramas. I am afraid I couldn't finish episode 1 of any of them, but I do believe in multiple universes so I obviously would love to travel to one of them and take a look.

I think I made it through episode one of the annoying king drama, but well, annoying king and all meant I didn't get any further.

Anyways, I vote flute because parallel universe hopping sounds pretty good right now, and I would be sad dealing with murderers unless we could prevent murders. We can flute around until we find the universe we like, right?

In that universe we are all in Beanie Island having tea, coffee or a nice glass of wine discussing dramas and life while being idle. It’s a really nice universe and the company is top notch.

While my preference is to go to parallel universes if I could, mere mention of TKEM and the flute gives me some sort of PTSD. So no vote for me. Maybe I just call up Dr. Strange.

Somebody help, I recognise the guy on the left and the Signal reference but have no clue who the guy on the right is or what that is from.
He does look vaguely familiar though, I think I might have seen him around somewhere.

the flute would only cause problems if someone with bad intentions gets ahold of it or if you fall in love with a person from the parallel realm.

I came here so sure that my answer would be "Signal'', but then I saw the question and said, maybe not. :D
I love that drama, the leads, the story, the acting, the walkie-talkie, everything, and I'm still waiting for season 2, but between the walkie-talkie and the flute, who am I going to talk to? What murder mystery?! The flute seems more practical. Although my answer would be Signal by a large margin in (possibly) every other poll, I have to go with the flute this time.

It's gonna be the flute. Even if I did pick the walkie-talkie, what good use is it gonna do to me if it'll end up harming me or taking me somewhere where the killer might be there?

I guess I could be altruistic and choose the walkie-talkie, but I'm less inclined to get my hands dirty. Especially since I won't be preventing the murders, so there's that. A bigger part of me is excited to travel to alternate worlds, bring it on!

So many good arguments for the flute, but I had to go with the walk-in talkie. I’ve had a secret dream to be a girl detective since my Nancy Drew days. Sitting here watching Miss Scarlett & the Duke on PBS, and now I want to be a girl detective in Victorian England fighting the patriarchy and misogyny and solving all the cases. 🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s a quirk, what can I say?

Well, if there are infinite parallel universes, there’s bound to be countless universes better than ours. I’ll take that chance over becoming a cop in this one.

The walkie-talkie. Provided I'd be able to solve (and i'd love that) a cold case in the same universe where communicating in the past is possible. Gosh now I want to watch Signal again!
Universe traveling is wasted on me.
