Turns out my favorite rom trope is ML’s unwavering devotion and acts of service/love to the FL despite separation. Cue – Cast Away Diva, and then now Love Your Enemy.
Instead of suspecting your 8 yr old child as a killer, you should have out her in therapy! She procesees emotions differently, does not mean she is a psychopath. The parents are the villains here.
So chaebols don’t need to apologize and make amends as long as they are funny. And by the way, resigning from a company which treated you unfairly and bullied you makes you a traitor.
Mom was ready to destroy everyone just a few episodes ago, and now she doesn’t care about Ji Wook or her son’s love life.
So I guess it’s the family trend. Just ruin everything around you and then pretend it never happened.
They could have thrown in a half-hearted apology somewhere and Bok-gyu at least calling his parents out on their BS. But we got nothin’, except for maybe PPL for the spinoff with how much screentime the 2nd couple got (seriously Busan, you’re pretty, we didn’t need another date scene)
I get that they wanted Hae-yeong to form her own company. So I think it would have been best to have Gyu-hun offer her the job back, and she declines because she’s bitter.
The writer set that up nicely last week, and then didn’t pull it off well at all. It didn’t fit with her character to go back to Kkulbee. Especially when her ex got the spotlight after all of her hard work
But I don’t even want to think about him 😅 Cheats on two people, then wants to leave his wife, totally avoids any consequences, gets promoted at work smh
Honestly, it’s realistic: people don’t change that much, especially people who grew up rich and sheltered, and often terrible men get rewarded. I actually totally buy that Gyu-hyun could be a very wonderful boyfriend to Ja-yeon while also retaining his feelings of superiority and entitlement as a chaebol. And that Hae-yeong’s ex could essentially steal her idea and have his career launch from that as a result (although what’s going on with his wife?) But not exactly what you want to see in a romcom, right?
Just felt like a lot of loose ends, and ones that could have been tied up SO easily.
Hahahaha. Yes, please.
Not to mention that this whole episode Ja Yeon gave me abused child vibes. Like, I don’t want to see her kiss anyone before some therapy (time jump).
The thing is that the spinoff doesn’t actually feature them, even though it’s Lee Sang-yi he’s playing Kang Ha-jun, not Gyu-hun. Unless he makes a brief appearance later on, but all of the promo says that he’s only playing one character (Ha-jun) whereas she’s playing two (the FL of her novel and Ja-yeon). And the majority of the spinoff is set in the novel, which seems to be in Ja-yeon’s head. So, I’m not sure we’ll even get to see Gyu-hyun in the spinoff, apart from the Truck of Doom scene that sets up the story, let alone moments between them as a couple in the “real world.”
Thanks to the actor we see his face show regret and guilt but it’s not enough. I really hope him finding the courage to fight, to love will make him a better person and he actually stands up for Ji Ukie in front of his parents next episode. I think if he does that I will give him a chance. Because the two brothers are absolutely great together and I wish I could have enjoyed the scenes more if only …. Sigh.
He may not be fully responsible with the comments but barging in like that, not even pausing to hear the other side is simply just bad character. Worse, he kept his shoes on! How disgustingly rude!
Yu-na, what a formidable young actress. She was already impressive in Kidnapping Day, she is stealing some (or all) of the dramatic scenes from the adult actors in Good Partner, yes, even from JN.
Jaehee is such a well written character and portrayed so well by child actress Yuna. I feel so much for Jaehee, she’s probably the best child-stuck-with-divorce-parents character in a kdrama so far.
MND. I am in SLS territory now, and not by choice. I was pushed there by the ML’s behaviour towards Ms Day and his communication issues with Ms Night. Even his behaviour towards the 2ML is annoying.
The Atypical family comments just underscored how diverse drama viewing experience can be. It is like we are watching totally different shows. But that is ok, amazing in fact.
It really is amazing how different each individual is. I never thought about it that much until I started reading comments. Yet we can all come together in our circle of love for K-Dramas🩵
Why would K- celebrities need to apologize for dating? It still baffles me until now. Meanwhile in my country, people actually make bets on who’s dating who.
atleast 1st 4 episodes are tricky because editing is choppy in places and gives a feeling of something is missing.. and yet there is an undercurrent of that wonderful character chemistries that bloom later (except the best friend and FL)
The deadly combination of Moon Woo Jin and Chae Jong Hyeop as one character pretty much killed any competition. Not a single armor can defend from that dazzling smile.
Started the Moon drama today, tell me please, if Kim Young Dae improves in the next episodes. He sounds like he is making an oratorical speech every time, that my ears hurt.
Slow clap to this girl Yuna. She is an amazing actress. I wish her success in this industry as she truly deserves to be there with this pure talent. And The Kidnapping Day ended well, too!.
Now that MLL (Tue and Wed) and Moving ( Thu and Fri) ended, I am left with just BHT (Sun – Mon). I already have this 1 ep per day schedule down pat. Ottoke?
The second lead who is designed to carry a mix of red and green flags (making him a giant brown flag, I suppose) and who, somehow, has made his mission to protect the ex that didn’t ask for anything. Surely, there might be another girl in South Korean who may want to date you, my good man.
We’ve also got the one-thought-only bad guy, the eternal threat (Eom-ji’s brother) who could attack out of nowhere at any point… and he will never ever question the facts and continue to assume that his own thoughts are all the proof he needs. It’s a new take on Descartes, I think therefore I am. I think [you killed someone], therefore you are [a murderer].
