Love in Contract: Episodes 9-10

After skirting around their feelings for the longest time, the season of confession is finally here for our professional wife and her husbands. But where is the fun in that if everything goes exactly according to plan?

EPISODES 9-10 WEECAP

Love in Contract: Episodes 9-10

So it’s official that while Ji-ho’s aunt might have pushed him towards the antisocial cliff, his ex-wife was the one who sent him over the edge. Ji-eun hated being poor and spent her life chasing success. And the very day he wanted to surprise her with her dream house (in which he now lives), she handed him the divorce papers.

It’s been seven years since then and Ji-ho hasn’t been able to fall for anyone else until Sang-eun came into his life. According to Ji-ho, a life where Sang-eun doesn’t exist feels dreadful. But it’s not like she’s telepathic to know how he feels. And she is left to spend the rest of the day with mixed feelings from seeing Ji-eun, and not knowing the real reason behind Ji-ho’s heroic appearance at the hotel.

Love in Contract: Episodes 9-10

An overnight camping trip with Hae-jin seems like just what the doctor ordered to get Sang-eun’s mind off her Ji-ho induced confusion. But when a drunk Ji-ho shows up in her neighborhood, they have to drag him along. (I will never get over how drunk Ji-ho passes out in the funniest of ways!) It is on this trip that Sang-eun confesses that she has never received true love from anyone because everyone is out to use her.

We already know that Sang-eun was adopted to be the perfect bride, but it was a little surprising to see that she never got to meet her adoptive parents before being whisked abroad for thirteen years of bridal training. On her return, she eagerly anticipated meeting them for the first time, only to learn that she wasn’t coming back to the loving arms of a family but straight to the in-laws. No wonder she ruined the marriage meeting.

In her tipsy state on the trip, Sang-eun says that she wants to be loved and kissed, and Hae-jin is only too happy to grant her wish. I’m sure she wasn’t referring to him, but he’s so smug about it the following day with Ji-ho, and if my eyes could roll any further, they’d be at the back of my head. There’s a lot of baggage that comes with being Kangjin group’s son. And while it’s understandable that a person cannot choose the family they’re born into, Hae-jin is really not helping matters.

He is fond of doing things without thinking of Sang-eun’s feelings — from the engagement ambush, to thinking they’re now an item after the kiss (thank goodness she cleared him up on this one). And I don’t care what his intentions were — he never should have name-dropped Sang-eun as Eena group’s daughter to his brother, knowing how much she detests the whole arranged marriage nonsense. He will do well to keep her name out of his family’s business!

Love in Contract: Episodes 9-10

Meanwhile, Sang-eun gets into an argument with Ji-ho and as they fling their misunderstandings at each other, their true feelings bubble to the surface. Ji-ho admits that he went to the hotel to confess to her, but he got flustered on seeing his ex. In between Sang-eun’s processing of what he just said and arguing that he should have spoken up earlier, Ji-ho goes in for a kiss. And I am officially a finished woman!

“Does this answer your question?” He asks in between kisses. You bet, sir! This man is really out there working that jaw like his life depends on it — in the enclosed space of his car, no less, which makes the moment even more steamy — the heat of it all sending me into a melted state! Afterwards, our newly minted couple graduate into the mushiness of “you hang up first,” and get their service provider excited about the incoming bills. Heh.

Love in Contract: Episodes 9-10

It’s so cute how love can drastically change a person. Ji-ho can’t stop smiling and greeting people at work, and his co-workers are left to wonder who he is and what he has done with the Ji-ho they know. Lol. As a courtesy, Sang-eun also informs Hae-jin that she’s dating Ji-ho for real, and she plans to wrap up her contract with him as soon as possible. But she and Ji-ho have barely settled into new couple territory when everything goes south.

Detective Mi-ho matches Hae-jin and Sang-eun’s paparazzi pictures with the clothes in Sang-eun’s closet and resumes Operation Marry Sang-eun Into Kangjin Group. Sang-eun is blissfully unaware of this, but Hae-jin finds out and goes into panic mode. So who told you to run your mouth in the first place?

It turns out Ji-eun is kinda chummy with Hae-jin’s mum, and she learns that Sang-eun – better known to her as Hae-jin’s girlfriend – is the daughter of Eena group. But when she finds out from Hae-jin that it’s all contracted and Ji-ho is a part of Sang-eun’s clientele, she marches straight to Ji-ho thinking he hired Sang-eun to make her jealous. You know, since she is the center of the universe and everything revolves around her. Pfft.

Ji-ho tells her to leave because his wife (how I love the sound of this!) is on her way. But outside the building, said wife has been hoisted on Hae-jin’s shoulder amidst her protests, and carted away to prevent her from running into Ji-eun. And that’s the perfect opportunity for the ever-present paparazzi to finally get a clean shot of Sang-eun’s face. Before long, the images are plastered everywhere on the news, and good luck to them getting out of their contract so easily now.

Kang Hae-jin really stresses me out! Would it kill him to just stay put? He had zero reason for wanting to prevent Sang-eun from running into Ji-eun. I mean, what’s the worst thing that could happen if both women meet? A cat fight? In his head, he wants to protect Sang-eun, but at this point, the only person she needs to be protected from is him.

Ji-eun has also joined the ranks as a stumbling block to our newly minted relationship by outing Sang-eun as the Eena group’s daughter to Ji-ho. She even threw in the marriage plans between Eena and Kangjin — before he could even process the information that Sang-eun is a chaebol daughter. And though Ji-ho and Sang-eun have decided to accept each other at face value, how long will their misunderstandings fester until it blows up in their relationship?

Love in Contract: Episodes 9-10

I said last week that I wanted to see this quartet in action, and they really came with the drama! Sang-eun’s exposure as a professional wife was inevitable, but this was sooner and on a way bigger scale than I would have imagined. The pure shock on the faces of Ji-ho’s coworkers on recognizing his wife as someone else’s fiancée on national TV? Priceless! And then there’s all her former clients with their family and friends who have probably seen the news and recognized her too.

It’s a hazard associated with the profession, but I still feel bad for Sang-eun. With her face out there, the press and netizens are bound to dig up all the information about her life, and it’s not going to be pretty. I don’t know where we’re going from here, or how they intend to spin the story around, but whatever happens, I hope that Sang-eun is okay.

1. I feel so sad for Ji Ho. He isn't ready to handle a "normal" relationship with Sang Eun, never mind one that is being pummeled by outside forces and which - sadly - is probably destined to be incredibly rocky and occasionally heartbreaking. But the two of them together seem like they could light the world on fire, so hopefully it'll all work itself out.

2. I am beyond annoyed with Hae Jin. I just want to tie him up and wash the fake blood off his face and force him to put on clothes in his actual size and not 3 sizes too big. I suppose it's supposed to be fashion, and it does help with image of him as a child playing "dress up" pretending to be a grown man... but it's annoying. Like, how does *nothing* in that incredibly expensive closet of yours actually fit you? The actor is thin, sure, but he isn't a small person - he's quite tall, and he has broad shoulders. The clothes constantly hanging off him are ridiculous. And so is the character whining and sulking his way through the days once Sang Eun tells him her decision to date Ji Ho. I just can't anymore with this guy.

3. Did the paparazzi just get lucky - or did Sang Eun get set up yet again by Mi Ho and her marriage machinations? Either is possible, given Hae Jin's complete lack of awareness and consideration of others when he lobbed her over his shoulder and took off across the courtyard. If only Sang Eun had slapped him once he put her down, as I kind of thought she might (PMY often hits people, she does it in a lot of her shows) then the fact that her face got photographed might not have mattered quite as much - since it would look like a shocked woman attacking her attacker, rather than a lover carrying his beloved ... across the lawn? whatevs.

4. Ji Eun is a skunk. If she was such a good lawyer, she would not waste her time trying to get Sang Eun in trouble with Ji Ho and would be much more diligent about protecting her client's privacy and best interests. She's too worried about her after-the-fact competition (sorry, sweetie, but you've already lost on that front) for Ji Ho's affections. I was cheering him on as he ushered her out of his house and down to the parking lot. He treated her a lot nicer than I would've.

5. How has Hae Jin's creepy hyung not figured out yet that his little bro is involved somehow with his former intended fiancee? He's gotten several clues, surely he or his hired investigators should have made this connection by now.

@I agree with everything but the clothes bit. Even though it is mot explained at all, he might prefer that style which is comfy to him and is fine by me or likely he deliberately wears that style as not to be further objectified and pursued by saesangs.
Despite a lot of my fellow Beannies not liking Heajina, I do but I don’t like anyone depriving Sangeun of her agency, dragging her hither and dither and physically handling her without her consent. Bad bad KD trope that needs to die a thousand deaths.

Curious why you believe Ji-ho is not ready for a "normal" relationship with Sang-eun?

He struggles to communicate with her, and jumps to conclusions. That's not going to help any relationship. He couldn't even bring himself to talk to her about how he feels and what he wants, once he got in his car and drove all the way over there to get her - just because he saw his two least-favorite people standing next to her (Hae Jin and the ex). It took an argument that she started to bring it out, eventually. Also, he is still unsure himself, still seeking advice from his counselors and constantly reading self-help books.

Please note, there is nothing wrong with any of this - I just assert that they are signs he may not be quite ready for a full-blown serious relationship.

Hmm I hear you. I was just curious. Yea I guess it depends on the individual person whether or not major life transitions can be dealt with in conjunction with mental health and/or other health recovery aspects of our life. I have had a point in my life where taking a break from things to focus on recovery was feasible and very helpful. But it's also true that most of the time, I have had to learn to stick through and focus on balancing existing tracks in life. I think it's very contextual. But thank you for sharing your thoughts.

@sicarius It sounds like we need a tag-team approach like you did for Big Mouth - you can have all the Ji-ho and I can have all the Hae-jin (because I still perversely like him) and we can meet at the Vampire Club to compare notes and split the bean.

3

@elinor I'm game for that if you are!!!!! Lmao! The Vampire Club will convene a week hence over a glass of the finest blood available.

@sicarius I’m thinking that’s just the right way to watch this show *nods approvingly*

The writers are really giving no joy at all to Hae-jin. I still feel sorry for him, considering that he doesn't know everything we know and his initial perception of threats to Sang-eun is still coloring everything he does with her. I hope he doesn’t end up with Ji-ho’s ex-wife, whose name I refuse to learn, because so far that character is a hodgepodge of bright smiles, bitterness, interference, and jealousy - and while I understand that toppling everything she touches is her function in the plot, she’s too incoherent to be interesting. I mean, she left him and not the other way about, so what does she have to be jealous about? is a question I can’t muster up any interest in answering.

I’ve given up on this as anything other than a disjointed series of improbable conversations and situations and am treating it as involuntary channel-flipping. Troubled teen flashback! FLIP Surprise ex-wife! FLIP Mr. Sobriety gets drunk! FLIP Gwang-nam sings! FLIP Whatever, I’ll probably stick it out just for Jamie the Cat’s story arc and the vanishing hope of vampires.

Exactly. She left him. How come she's making it his fault (in her head of course) that he finally decided to move on with his life. The entitlement? Because she came back? Or he bought her dream house? Or because she hasn't moved on from him?(I hope we get some story on this end. 7 years is long to not be in and out of relationships). Entitlement aside, it's selfish for her to expect to meet him where she left him. That's clear greed. Good thing Ji-ho isn't fixated on her.

I haven't prepared myself yet for the inevitable angst, potential noble idiocy and painful corporate machinations that no doubt I'll be subjected to for at least the next 2 to 3 episodes.
Can we just ditch the MiHo stuff? She aggravates me every time she appears.
HaeJin needs a small beating and a good talking to. Talk about taking liberties! The man better come good for Sang Eun as he's the root cause of most of her problems at the moment.
I've found I'm waiting for each time JiHo appears on screen. I absolutely love every scene he's in. A lot of the rest of this week's episodes I could take or leave, to be honest.
Finally, the kiss! Melted. It also hilariously recreated the Yumi's Cells 2 kiss scene in the car that Sang Eun was drooling over last week.
I would love if JiHo stayed by SangEuns side through the inevitable fallout in the next episodes, however I think it won't work out that way and we'll go down the usual path -
Surprise me writers!

@unit thanks for the weecap. I loved the way Gwangnam announced the random breakfast provision as something they need to be concerned about until he tasted it and then he jumped straight in enjoying every mouthful. The comedy this week was more of what I was expecting I loved that cat Jamie was finally on camera but had her back to him on purpose.

I may be on my own here but I think Haejin’s gay friend is his manager Junghwan and he is going to be the love interest that finally stops Gwangnam playing and he will settle into the long term relationship he wants. The petty squabbling because Junghwan felt usurped was funny. One of them will need to leave in order for the relationship to work as Gwangnam doesn’t do work relationships so the arguments will continue as to who it should be. I think Haejin is playing Cupid.

The lawyer breaching Haejin’s trust surely that must be a suing and struck off offences unless she is playing double agent in order to help Haejin know what the family is up to hence not wanting the money upfront.

What’s the relationship between the principle manager and Sung mi is she a friend/sister/lover or I was confused. I also didn’t get the lullaby singing to a fully grown ajumma I didn't think it was cute.

They can easily explain away the wife and fiancée fiasco and say they agreed to help the neighbour out as he needed it due to the scandals but it got out of hand in terms of imposing on their baby making plans so they were going to end it anyway.

You're not on your own, I think that we can be pretty sure that the manager is Hae Jin' s gay friend. I'm just not quite sure if he's out about it, or he's in denial and Hae Jin just sees it but doesn't push him to come out.

I agree that he is likely the gay friend - even though in the scene where the uncle/CEO is teasing Hae Jin about the gay rumors surrounding him... the assistant says "i don't want to worry that they'll think that about me too." One of the few lines from Hae Jin that I actually like was next - "should I let you worry about needing to find a new job (once i fire you), then?"

I think that was just a case of "protesteth too much" and that the assistant and Gwang Nam could have a shot together - assuming one of them quits, of course.

I want Gwang Nam to end up happy and have assumed the show will match him up with either the manager or the agency/uncle, both of whom have shown themselves to be petty and selfish, and publicly homophobic, so it’s been hard to root for either of them. I agree the bickering sets us up for it being the manager, a character so dull that I don’t know what his name is. I’d rather Gwang Nam become “discovered”/established as a singer and an action star (a la Lee Seungi) who is out and that being ok in Korea and later some really deserving nice guy show up for him. And they get a spin-off show.
A girl can dream 🙄

That sounds plausible as it was almost like the manager was scounting Gwangnam as if they ran their own talent agency.

Yes, exactly. He wanted to hire Gwang Nam into the agency to be developed after hearing him sing (and seeing his cuteness) and we overheard GN telling the film set workers about how his martial arts skills have gotten him hired for double work before. It’s plausible! Since GN has his sh*t together more than all 3 of the Hae Jin+staff group combined, I’d rather see him with another company 🤦🏼‍♀️ but they could get him started.

3

I just want Gwangnam to be in a stable relationship that’s what he wants and he deserves to have a friend/partner who provides stability and an equal relationship as he does not have this from his family or Sangeun. The couple he performed the song for may be part of his friendship group but he seems to be have little grounding him at the moment. With Sangeun she seems to get all the perks; he cleans and is a great listener and support for her not sure what she offers him?

She called him Oppa so I thought he was her brother then when his wife called he didn’t say he was out with his sister he said he was somewhere else so I wondered why he was lying as he is so close to his wife.

0

@reply88
Hmmmm I missed the lie to his wife - went and checked; he just said he was out for a walk a bit far away, he was also drunk, and the Korean language can seem very dismissive sometimes when it's not.
Not gonna bother trying to put any meaning behind him not telling her where he was because I don't think it's that important -
But I don't think you guys need to worry about his relationship with his sister being something nefarious either way.
He's there to be the romantically smitten husband and to get Ji Ho out of his shell, and his sister the same, but with more intelligence.

6

I somehow misconstrued your “brother and sister” comment. Please disregard it.

0

@dncingemma
😅😅 好!

3

Thanks, I had no concerns about inappropriate relationship with his sister. I was confused because the guy is clearly besotted with his wife so ‘lying’ made no sense. Therefore I assumed it indicated he was having an affair and I had assumed wrongly that Oppa was brother when she actually meant it in the love interest way. I am just glad that was cleared up as I hated to think he was being disloyal to his wife by singing to her while he was out with another woman it just didn’t fit the way their relationship had been presented hence the genuine confusion that something had been lost in translation.

2

I believe it was Oppa as in brother... she did call his wife Unni...
They have obviously been in a joint project regarding Ji Ho, they have been discussing him outside of this scene.

2

No, screw it actually, I DO have more rant in me:

I kept a running tally this week of Hae Jin and the points earned from me.
He hit negative numbers through most of it every time he acted like an entitled brat (which was a lot) but made up for it very slightly by pushing back against his family for her - but this drama suffers from the classic kdrama issue of People Utterly Failing to Communicate when they really frakking should and it's obvious how they should too, because these kinds of dramas think it's more interesting to have conflict arise from dumb contrived scenarios such as involving exposed identities, relationship scandals and meddling chaebols, instead of just like TELLING anyone, like one single time, what's going on, or a reason for anything, so he AND Sang Eun lost points again for that; she just took it all from him instead of demanding and explanation like she did from Ji Ho, so the next 6 episodes can drive me off the wall.
Frak you people are so dumb. There are like two people in this entire show that try to effectively communicate and one of them is literally the character who canonically can't????? WTF.

@bbstl I'm lazy and replying to you both in one.
I'm fully aware of what kind of drama this is. It's a "classic" kdrama in that it has ALL the classic kdrama conflict points and about 0 originality or even self awareness with them. It's truly peak trashy rom com in that sense. IT doesn't care that it's dumb.
But I am tired of such approaches to the kdrama bread and butter so am allowed to complain about them. ;)

And- @jerrykuvira- I beg to differ - Law Cafe is doing a surprisingly splendid job of showing healthy communication between the leads and still manages to show case realistic tension and conflict and growth between them nonetheless. 🤭🤭🤭
Words I never thought would come out if my mouth but I must give credit where credit is due.

0

You're not the only one who's officially finished @unit . An additional touch to it all was that he returned back to his sweet calm voice after the kiss. I was wondering where his voice went to for a minute.

Kang Hae-jin drives me nuts. Is it possible to understand a character and still have that character driving you bananas. There you have it with Kang Hae-jin. For someone who cares about space and waiting your turn, he sure knows how to infringe on Ji-ho's thunder. I saw him stealing the kiss from a thousand miles away and I cheered when Sang-eun spilled the facts to him in clear terms. I did feel sorry for him though but this is the second time - the coincidence. And it doesn't help that his family has done the third time - a continuous habit. I hope Hae-jin doesn't do a third one. I want to be as objective as possible with Hae-jin but he's not making it any easier for me.
And can that I'm-protecting-you-from-a-nasty-scenario/conversation trope take a backseat, especially when it definitely isn't needed and the said thing needs to be faced eventually.

Oh good God I was warming up to Mi-ho after that monologue she gave when exiting Ina Group's chairman's office last week, this time I'm almost having it up to here. Can't this people just leave them be.
On the positive side, her interactions with Gwang-nam is one I look forward to each week. This woman just knows how to get him peeing in his pants or squeeze anything out of him. All it takes is one snip look into her eyes and it's Mayday. I will watch an episode of Mi-ho vs Gwang-nam rather than a minute of Marriage-Coordinator-Mi-ho-ready-to-matchmake.

The bubbly Sang-eun on the plane returning to South Korea is very far from the one at the marriage dinner. Her adopted father is cold creeps, the mom isn't any better. No wonder they still consider her as a project till date. A little show of filial attachment and they would have had a smooth sailing but no. Did they think Mi-ho would groom her to accept crumbs from anyone, even if it is them?
It must have been really sad for her to be used like that. I just want her to get her full agency back in no time. And quickly so I can get back to watching Sang-eun and Ji-ho playing lovey-dovey on my screens again, and this time - fulltime.

'A life without her will be dreadful'
What sort of heat is this🥵🤭. How many times will be you sweep me off my feet each week. I curled my toes immediately I heard those words. Doesn't help that I was watching Love in Contract in a fetal position ;) . Had Ji-ho confessed his feelings in episode 10, I'd reach out and give him a little spanking on the head. But then, those moments of fluster gave birth to that sweet realization, and that drunken sleeping position😅. I don't know if I should request for more drunken Ji-ho moments if and only if they're unpredictable and ridiculous.

Perhaps this was mentioned previously - and I don't claim it as an original thought because I first read it on Reddit and they referred me to old twitter thread - but it sure looks like Kang Seon Jin (KHJ's oldest brother) sexually assaulted Sang Eun at the chaebol dinner. There is a 3-4 second clip of him entering from outside, wiping his hands and then Sang Eun enters a couple of seconds later - at which point she rips off the jewelry and pours the gravy over his head.

Hoping the writers are planning to delve into the impact of PTSD on Sang Eun's self-described "crazy" attitude.

In Eps 9 and 10, viewer was introduced to a significant back-story for both Ji-Ho and KHJ's traumatic childhood/early adult life - but we still have much to learn about what happened to Sang Eun. I am crossing my fingers that over the remaining episodes, our couple remains "together" (translation: no break-up or flight to Canada) and work through all of the s**t that is about to happen.

I'm here for arguments, soul-searching, awkward communication. I'll even tolerate (if I must) the makjang moment. But please Writer Gods - please avoid the stale, unimaginative break-up.

Final note: warts and all, I adore Ji-ho and Sang Eun. I have been rooting for them as adults-conquering-their-past from moment 1. And, I've rewatched that kiss scene several times. Based on the preview, [SPOILER]. I am here for it.

😮 I didn't notice those few seconds, but that makes sense now that I see it again. Ugh.

Viki doesn't have the preview for ep. 11 so I guess I'll be surprised. Or not.

I'm not sure why the viki and Prime episodes didn't include the preview this time, but here is a link with unofficial translation. Also apologize because I'm not sure how to do hyperlinks in Dramabeans.

Great catch thanks for flagging that because I saw it but didn’t register they were coming in from being alone together. I did catch the change in her expression and that it was registered by Miho immediately but completely missed the context.

Yes, something definitely happened there when there were alone together and sexual assault is the mostly likely considering her behavior after that.

I did notice that! And older brother was smirking. If it wasn't an assault, then he must have said something distasteful to her.

The way Ji-ho was asleep on the playground! *laughing*

Ji-ho's ex. How dare she march into Ji-ho's house and get all angry at him? She's ridiculous!

Kang Hae-jin rushing her away didn't make any sense. What did he a think her was protecting her from? Nothing.

The storyline was so unpredictable and lots of twist! But in a good way.. all genra your looking for was all in here... Comedy, drama, lovestory some action scenes and thrilling plot!! I really like the show! And im hoping a jiho-san eung end game!!!

I beg to differ. It's lacking both a serial killer sub plot, the tried and true staple for rom coms, and also vampires ... ;) ;)

Hae-jin is more like the antagonist than the second ML in this drama. I know he's got a sense of humor, but sometimes it crosses over to the stupid side. For me, what hurts the most from Sang-eun's premature outing is the reaction of Ji-ho's colleagues. I hope they'll take it easy on him.

Hae-jin's fundamental problem is that he doesn't know he's the SML. He does things that have been accepted (at least in the past) when done by a traditional ML - possibly the kind of ML he's played as an actor - but they don't land the same now. I'm trying to believe this is deliberate meta from the show's writers. I'm probably wrong.

I can see Ji-ho recoiling right back in where he was before.
How will he even head home on this premature outed day? Will he be the last to leave and first to get to work? I'll just wait till next week to worry about that.

Ji-Ho has great chemistry with Jamie the cat, their scenes together are my favourites. I think Hea-Jin, immature, entitled and pitiful at the same time is better match for Sang-Eun. He understands what she is going through and likes her as she is, while Ji-Ho goes into shock every time he finds out something new about Sang-Eun. Looking at the comments, I see that I'm in minority.
All the main characters in this drama are so broken, are happy endings even possible?

Honestly, I'm not sure how to place our 'couple.' They're both broken, and through their shared trauma, they can be one of those ride-or-die couples. But the writing is letting them down. I feel like everyone in this show needs some therapy and a new reset, not romantic love. But this is a rom-com, so a happy ending is a must in Kdramas, even if they're not earned. Sang-eun is a tragic character, I do feel horrible for what she's gone through, but I'm not clicking on her role nor her potentially marrying or being with Ji-ho long term. I'm not sure tbh, that car kiss and monologue leading up to it was sweet but given how the show has barely given us their moments separate from the other stuff feels contrived to me.

I thought about this before but feel like Hae-jin and Sang-eun are in the wrong drama. Like they would work really well if Sang-eun was the heroine of a revenge plot, and Hae-jin was her cool and suave ally/love interest whose role is just to focus on the female lead's well-being and vengeance.

Huh, that's a really intriguing idea. Ji-ho's personality also works well as the awkward, repressed, driven-into-a-corner hero of a revenge plot, maybe with SE and HJ as his sidekicks and secondary couple.

Hae-jin is definitely not in the drama he thinks he's in.

Why can't we have a drama without any chaebol -corporate shenanigans. Just give me socially inept Judge, Super Star, Jamie the human , Jamie the cat and Gwang-name, I will content.

tbh I think it takes putting on your rose-tinted glasses to get through this show.

Tbh I love jiho so much and seeing him grow out of his shell makes me so happy for him!

It feels like another day of writers just hating on Haejin cuz im still really confused as to why he's written this way. He has so much potential!
The scene where he just completely hesistates to inform SE on smth that's really important (practically gonna affect her life and she should at least get a head start) made me lowkey annoyed and just caused an even bigger issue with tons of people affected now (jiho, her past exes & in laws etc)

Im looking forward to seeing how it gets handled now

Here I am, all caught up with ten episodes and yet I'm not feeling much of anything towards this drama. I love PMY but I'm uninspired so far by this drama and I don't quite know why. I think Go Kyung Pyo is a great romantic and comic actor but these episodes were the first time I felt like the writer actually gave him something to work with! (I feel like the director is behind the camera scolding him if he doesn't give off the aura of a cardboard cutout at all times.)

I was starting to feel like the show was on an upswing until the final dramatic reveal. I agree that Sang Eun was probably harassed in some way by Hae Jin's older brother and that's what caused her to flip out. But will they handle it well? I doubt it...

I was getting SLS early on but now i'm just so sick of Hae Jin and his terrible communication that I want to put HIM over my shoulder and exit stage left so we can be done with his character. If the drama dissolves into meaningless angst I won't be surprised but I will be disappointed. This cast deserves better and I need more than one chuckle per episode to motivate me to keep watching.

URGH Hae Jin - walking red flag - week on week, he continues to proof himself to be an incredibly entitled, narcissistic, childish a-hole, zero redeeming quality. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Loved that the therapist is the sister of the boss - literally LOL'd when he walks in and she goes 'oppa' and Ji Ho's reaction. 💀

Also... anyone thinks that Ji Ho's past tax expertise is going to come in handy in taking down Ina and Gangji (at least the creepy older brother) group in the second half of the show?

Ep 9 is the moment I dropped this show. Unpopular opinion but I am not sold on the OTP, and this entire convoluted connections feel all contrived. I like PMY but unfortunately this is her 2nd show that I dropped consecutively. Hope she chooses a better show next time.

Long time reader, first time commenting. I just need to let it out: I have ZERO sympathy for Kang Hae-jin, he pisses me off! I am on episode 11 and it’s so enraging how he is unable to take action to fix things, nor take responsibility for creating a total mess in everyone’s lives. UGH! I can’t with this guy…
