Kiss Sixth Sense: Episodes 9-10

Comedy comes back this week, along with communication between our leads. The manufactured angst of the mystery plot line takes a backseat and we return to a more intriguing kind of tension: sexual tension. Have secret office antics ever been this fun?!

EPISODES 9-10 WEECAP

Can we all just take a moment to collectively squeal? We got so much of everything we asked for in these episodes, I instantly forgave last week’s mistakes. Funny and sexy are this drama’s strong suits and it hit its stride again straight away. We get tons of handholding, kisses, jokes, and flirtation — all before we finally live out “the future event.” With two more episodes to go, I’m nervous it won’t hold up, but this week gave me a lot to hope for.

We jump in where we left off, on a creepy country road, but luckily we don’t stay there long. Min-hu tracks down Ye-sool, quietly averting any kidnapping or crime, and the story moves on to resolve most of last week’s miscommunications within the first five minutes. Min-hu tells Ye-sool that he gets sick when he kisses someone but feels better around her (leaving off the piece about super senses for now). At first, Ye-sool thinks it’s just a ploy to hold her hand but begins to believe him when she thinks about her own reaction to kissing — and realizes she and Min-hu have this odd condition in common.

From there, the two move on to some serious adulting. Ye-sool apologizes for her behavior the day before and admits she was not really swayed by Pil-yo. Min-hu says it’s okay to fight, but asks her not to jump straight to breaking up and ignoring his calls. With his secret now in the open, the misunderstanding about Ji-young is also cleared up. We still get some jealousy from Min-hu that feels a bit dated, but it might be explained by his deep-seated insecurity about his abilities. When he finally comes clean to Ye-sool about his heightened senses, he tells her that he kept it hidden out of fear that she would be uncomfortable and not want to be around him.

Of course, Ye-sool can empathize with Min-hu’s fear. She never told Pil-yo about her sixth sense for the very same reason. The bond between Ye-sool and Min-hu is strengthened by these conversations and, in a scene that feels intimate, they each confess that it’s the first time they’ve told someone they dated about their powers. Throughout the course of the episodes, each independently decides that it doesn’t matter if the future Ye-sool sees between them is happy or not — they want to go for it anyway.

And here is where the squee factor hits record highs. Ye-sool runs (literally) to Min-hu’s apartment, rips up the contract she wrote, and tells him she wants a real relationship. She goes inside and we get the first of many fake-outs as to when these two will actually seal the deal. This time, they seem hot and heavy, but we see Jackson sitting safely by the side. When Ye-sool wakes up in Min-hu’s bed (and his sweats) while he’s in the kitchen cooking breakfast, I totally bought into it (I mean, we know Ye-sool can’t be trusted to interpret her visions. Maybe her premonition wasn’t their first time?) Alas, it didn’t happen.

In an effort to make it happen, Ye-sool tells Min-hu what clothes they’re wearing in her vision and both of them wear the same clothes every day for a week (lol) while work-related events get in their way. In the interim, Ye-sool puts her Planning Team 1 skills to use and develops a Kiss Risk Minimization Plan. The idea is that Ye-sool will kiss Min-hu (but not on the lips) so he won’t experience any pain, and he’ll do the same for her so she won’t be anxious about the future. At the office, they’ll make use of his super senses so Ye-sool can deliver signals about where to meet up for these not-on-the-lips kisses without getting caught. (This is the greatest use of their powers I can imagine and the drama gave me exactly what I didn’t know I wanted.)

After a while, all this foreplay becomes too much for our twosome to take it. Following a team outing where Min-hu gets drunk, the future finally comes to fruition. I’m not sure why, but I found the bed scene less affecting than it should have been. Was it because we’ve seen it for ten episodes already? Or because everything leading up to it was just way too much fun?

Aside from the amazingness that moved the action along this week, I was happy to see real changes in all of our main characters. Early on, I had expressed hope that Ye-sool and Min-hu would have some neutralizing effects on each other’s personalities, and that’s exactly what we started to see. Ye-sool is becoming more confident and direct. She tells off Ji-young, confesses that she likes Min-hu, and starts kissing him into stunned silence at the office — in fact, Min-hu looks stunned by most of her new behaviors.

At the same time, Min-hu is becoming less buttoned up. He’s smiling a LOT more, wanting to tell everyone about their relationship, and playing around at work instead of being so serious. Also, he’s literally becoming freer by being in less pain. Of course, all this could come undone next week.

We now know that Ye-sool is Min-hu’s first love from when they met as teenagers, and he is worried about Ye-sool remembering the incident. She (and we) may have to work through the trauma of her recovered memories before she and Min-hu can really be on the mend.

As a small aside, I’m really sad the Seung-taek and Ho-woo storyline has basically been dropped. The few scenes we get with them together are just not enough and little movement is happening. On the other side, the comedic pairing between Ji-young and Pil-yo is working for me. I wasn’t for it initially, but their alliance makes sense — teaming up to talk trash about their unrequited loves. They get some development as both start to accept that they are not the ones for Min-hu and Ye-sool, and I think their recent hangouts bring out the better parts of their characters (or, maybe I’m just happy it keeps them away from our leads).

As frustrated as I was last week, especially with episode 8, I am even more satisfied with these last two.
I don't know what evil spirits possessed the writers last week or if they were kidnapped, but with these two episodes the characters are acting again as we are used to them. The series is certainly not perfect, but since it makes me happy, I am happy to overlook such things.
I have to admit that I show a certain obsession with this drama. I don't usually watch slow-motion previews to compare individual scenes with the intro and make assumptions about what will happen next.

First of all, I'm glad that Min-hu finally told Ye-sool about his special abilities. As annoying as they can be, at least Ye-sool can be sure that Min-hu won't be kissing stranger women anytime soon. The punishment would follow immediately.
In fact, I can understand why Min-hu doesn't tell us about their childhood together. But this gives us plenty of material for the final episodes.

The Love Plan was so delightfully silly, I kept giggling. It was so abstruse that I wonder how anyone can remember it all. It's a miracle the two of them weren't busted. They were like teenagers with their hormones going crazy. In a way, though, it's understandable. Ye-sool finally dropped all reservations and dove headfirst into a relationship. And I'm pretty sure this is the first relationship ever for Min-hu.

I've made my peace with Pil-yo now that he's finally realised when it's time to give up. Even Ji-young is somewhat tolerable. I wouldn't be surprised if they become a couple sooner or later. But I don't care about that. They might as well jump off a cliff together, I would give a damn.

P.S.: Poor Jackson. First he's slandered so badly and used as an excuse (as if he's withering away), then he's simply pushed aside.

SQUEALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Who unleashed Hong Ye-sool? 😂 Has Secret office romance ever looked this fun and cute? I love it.

Phew! I thought we were getting robed when Ye-sool woke up the next morning in PJ's 😅 but I realised nothing happened.

I screamed when Ye-sool sister zoned Ji-young 😂😂. Yes girl! He's your man😆
I was almost pissed at Min-hu for not revealing the childhood connection I get that he's hesitant because Ye-sool seems to have wiped those painful memories away (it reminds me a bit of Just between lovers in the sense).

Hehehe, I was joking about Pil-yo and Ji-young last week but it may actually happen 😂.

The amazing chemistry between both leads is everything and more. May be I should start shipping them in real life if they are single 🤣😂😆

OK, the secret signals for in-office kisses are completely over the top and I love all of it. The show has gone too far in a few of the comic scenes (I’m still traumatized by that Fifty Shades parody) but with these it went right up to the edge, peered over, and said “nah let’s stop here, the few shreds of dignity we have left aren’t enough to make a parachute.”

I'm not so sure MH and YS don't go all the way on that first night together. I've thought all along that her X-rated vision is not of their first time and that's why they both can't figure out how and when it happens. I do hope she's been washing that lace shirt every night.

Good grief, PY and the damned movie again! That’s his only answer to everything: “watch my award-winning movie about how much I want my girlfriend back!” He and JY deserve each other just so they can be petty and miserable together.

Am I the only one who thinks the end of ep. 10 feels like the end of the series? Sure, there are some loose ends, but they seem predictable and unimportant anyway - we’ve sketched out enough of the childhood connection that anyone could fill in the blanks, and who really cares about bar ahjussi or who’s been sending flowers and pencil drawings of YS’s mom to her? I worry that the show has used up all of YS’s yummy visions and left nothing (except maybe artificial angst) for the remaining episodes. But oh, the way the boy actor makes that little “tut” sound just like adult MH when young YS falls asleep on his shoulder is heart-melting.

Don't remind me of that scene 😩; I was cringing so hard at the Fifty shades parody I had to close my eyes at some point.

I wouldn't mind of this was the end but I want more. We had so much sweetness this week that I fear the last episodes will be a let down. It seems like that's a pattern this year

😂😂😂. You're not open to hearing Pil-yo at all, or even see things from his shoes.
I want him to find the best closure and while I eyerolled at his last stand for his undying love, I was happy he finally decided to tow that route and walk away at the end of thier talk.
Besides, if anything she has learnt from her and Pil-yo, and in retrospect, the movie's message to her personally and not as a work of art - Don't hide any fact from Minhu. Be open. Let the cat out and see how it goes. It took being with him(Pil-yo) to realize that.

That been said. I'll stay out of your hair from now on on this matter ^^.

Wait, are you my ex-boyfriend? 😮🤣 Seriously though, I’ve been yoyoing on PY all along despite my slagging on him here, and you make good points about his role in YS’s development. He does substantially redeem himself in ep. 10, and for the story’s and the character’s sake I hope he sticks with it. I’ve never seen Kim Ji-suk before and don’t find him particularly appealing, so I don’t have any reserve of good feeling or interest from his previous roles. This seems like kind of a thankless one as SMLs go.

I am on the same track as you - I think they DID sleep together the first night she was there. She shows up with a declaration, straddles him on the couch, wakes up in his clothes and we’re supposed to think they spooned all night? Nah.

Also, that would make me much happier with the arc of their relationship. The first time is good and all, but there’s a certain amount of self-awareness. What I really liked about how they set this up is that they got a taste of sleeping together… and then went into an unintentional drought. That her vision might have been the second night together, but after a week of denial and unfulfilled lust, is amazing. You pretty much explode.

Same to me, you are not the unique person thinks that. In my opinion, the end of episode 10 is perfect without connection of childhood or the robber or hidden history between of HYS's mother and the man who owns bar.

The squee factor this week ran very high. The kiss buildup and scenes - very sensual. Damn, what kind of sparks run high during filming 🤤.

It's Cha Minhu's turn to be bedazzled and hence stunned by Ye-sool's unabashedness.

I think I can ship see Ji-young with Pilyo just a teeny weeny bit, not wholeheartedly yet. But I did enjoy thier banter.

Everything having being hashed out - 1. Wish Ye-sool well. 2. Walk away with your head held high. Good one Pil-yo.

Howoo🙄🙄. I had high hopes for her romantic arc but I can't say the same now.

The playfulness was completely unexpected but somehow tonally worked! It was great to see how YS absolutely bloomed when she’d decided to go all-in on the relationship, and I NEVER expected her to concoct that whole superpower plan; the fact that Minhu giddily went along with it (and was completely taken aback at first, but only in surprise) was adorable. An ability to play together like that is an incredibly good sign and a good balance for the passion we knew was coming.

The sex scene was a little bit defused, I think, by the fact that we’d seen it before and also weirdly the music, which in longer form wasn’t as evocative as the vision snippet. I wish they’d been a little more creative with the actual scene content because the small details we hadn’t seen before, like him taking off her shoes, helped make it seem like less of a replay. Then again, when I try to think of other things they could have added, I seem to mostly land on elongated eye contact or really small tactile details - otherwise you end up going overboard. So not the removal of more clothing, but stuff like the pause they both took when Jackson fell.

A small, SMALL complaint though, and wouldn’t have traded a second of the office romance in exchange for a more intense sex scene.

I came for the intriguing premise and continued because it didn't appear to be based upon angels or fairies or aliens.

I kept watching for the romance and comedy. Really liked Dr. Oh (well, actually I really like Tae In Ho) and Ho-woo and disappointed at the writers on that score.

But the only reason I'm staying at this point is to see the children - I want to see their happy childhood scenes together - I hope the 2 second scene at the end means much more of that to come as well as what happened between them that night 20+ years ago.

After two middling episodes, this show is back on track and I'm back to adoring it. When the main couple are just being goofy, but sexy, nerds in love everything clicks. But it's the humor that really got me. Loved the meeting in ep 9 where Min-hu is being extra critical and ending each tirade with that decisive downstroke motion!

I agree, though, that it's a shame the Seung-taek and Ho-woo storyline is MIA. After finding Ho-woo fun and intriguing in the beginning, I'm disappointed that I now find her tedious and kindof mean. Seung-taek deserved better. Maybe they'll end up reconciling in the last two episodes, but Ho-woo has been so cold and indifferent that I'm over it.

I’m sorry to say this because of all the committed beanies who apparently enjoy this show BUT This is not a good drama AT ALL. In fact, I find it very comparable to Now We Are Breaking Up, another sub-par drama that dangled a steamy, sexual encounter between the two main characters on the first episode and left the rest of the show with a predictable, tedious, and boring plot. It is very disappointing to say the least. I don’t like any of the leads, but I sympathize with Pilyo for having to go through such a painful and pointless breakup from the person he loved. Now that he’s gotten some closure, I hope he can move on. Because Yesool isn’t it.

It may depend on how the chemistry hits you (or doesn’t). I loathed NWABU and its work setting - thought they should all be fired or demoted - but in this one people are actually generally good at their jobs and the FL and ML really work for me, both in their chemistry and individual characterizations.

It’s not the strongest show in its entirety, obviously (every time they skew off to the hospital or mystery storylines I go get a snack) but if someone puts together a Minhu/YS workplace super cut? I will watch that end to end repeatedly. No question the leads are carrying this one.

Please don't compare with the Now we are breaking up because chemistry level of CMH/HYS is much better and loveable than the main couple of NWABU. I could not stand with them and had to drop this series soon. But unfortunately or happily, I randomly found Kiss Sixth Sense of first 4 episodes on dramac**l and I must spend almost whole night to keep watching and as result, after watching them, I went to my office with black circles under my eyes. And forth forward, from that time, I must wait until to late night of Wednesday to catch this drama.

Surely, the 9 and 10th eposides, I was full of their kisses and sexy scenes after two boring ones as 7 and 8. Apart of their love line, I can understand how the advertising agencies can work and run business. In fact, when I was young, I had wished to work in this industry field but finally, in fact, I have worked in totally different one.

This week's episodes were so fun.
I'm a bit anxious for the last episodes, as a lot of unnecessary plots would have te be resolved.

I did 10 episodes marathon last night. I agree 'the sexy' part is quite interesting:) I also thought they have already slept together the previous week! So they did not :) I can only complain about ML. He is somehow fit the story here or Female Lead is very good and seems to have chemistry well together but He is the most terrible actor (!) i have ever seen in KD land so far. He can not act at all.
