Yoo Yeon-seok for leading man in Hong sisters’ Warm and Cozy

Woohoo, Yoo Yeon-seok (The Informant, Answer Me 1994) is up to play the lead in the new Hong sisters drama Warm and Cozy. Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!

We have some reports that say he’s confirmed, others that it’s not finalized yet (but in the “final negotiation” stage), but in any case this is still great news and he would be a fantastic choice. It likely also means Rain is out of the running, and I’m fine with that, because: Yeon-seokie!

A few months ago I might’ve squeed over “Chilbongie” getting the part, but ever since his super-endearing and entertaining stint on the travel reality show Youths Over Flowers, my love is for Yeon-seok first and foremost. (He was so warm, considerate, and competent as he took care of his travelmates, who really might have starved (or gotten lost in a foreign country) without him, and then we wouldn’t have gotten to see his hilarious bromance with the ever-adoring and clingy Sohn Ho-joon, and maknae Baro.)

I’m still champing at the bit to hear more information about the actual plot; so far all we know is that this is a romance set on picturesque Jeju Island opposite (probably) Kang So-ra (Misaeng), and will showcase the Hong sisters’ trademark trend-setting writing — probably full of puns and sharp jokes with a dash of meta commentary. Which means it’ll make me laugh, and then cry (mostly with laughter), and maybe the jokes will be a little silly, but they’ll be good-natured and warm-hearted. The perfect way to lead us into summer.

Warm and Cozy will follow Angry Mom on Wednesdays and Thursdays and premieres in May.

Ooooh, yay! I like Yoo Yeon Seok. Chilbong-ie!!! Kang Sora, I have no problem with. I haven't seen Misaeng yet so I can't rave about her like everyone else but I liked her okay in Sunny and that's the only thing I've ever really seen her in. I trust everyone's judgment when you all say she did great in Misaeng. :)

Now I'm eagerly awaiting news about casting confirmations for ITWY remake. Please get a good leading man. It may be impossible but until anything's confirmed, I'm still hoping for a Gong Yoo-Ha Ji Won dream pairing.

Got a satisfactory replacement news.... I was getting excited about many dramas after knowing 1st casting news then have to get disappointed by declination and more disappointed by the names suggested as alternatives... But this news made me really happy :)

After waiting for so long for YYS to come back to dramaland, I am so happy that he's finally decided to co back, and with a rom-com as well.

I really wanted to be a little more elquent, but I am so happy I can't speak due to /feelz.

And I loved KSR in Misaeng.

yay! yeon seokie is what i'd call "warm & fuzzy" - after watching Youth Over Flowers, also!

just watched "The Royal Tailor" - and WOW, he has such a great range - he was formidable in this movie...

i'm a fan, i can see him with kang sora - and thankfully, it won't be rain... tho i luff him, he's not the right fit for this role.

Meh. I love Kang So Ra, but this guy is not my type. He seems so bland and I'd love to see someone more edgy in this drama, like Kim Woo Bin. Hong sisters' dramas are usually awesome, partly because of the right casting choices, but now I'm... kinda not excited anymore.
