Beanie level: Chaebol’s poor doppelganger

No! No! No! Not DongJae. Not DongJae. 😳😳😳😳😳

DongJae is married with kids! 😱 I’m curious about his spouse. Looks like he got a position at the Supreme Prosecution Office. Is his kidnapping YeonJae’s doing? Is it related to the cop suicide? 🤔😳

Oh my dear…. I read that as “DONGHAE is married with kids!”

As in Super Junior’s Donghae and it’s freaked me out and got me thinking “SINCE WHEN DID DONG HAE OPPA GET MARRIED AND HAVE KIDS?!?!?!!?!??!!!!!!?!?!???”

    😂😂😂😂😂 I’m okay now

I did think he was lying when he first told Shi-mok that. But it looks like he really is married! Wow – would we get cutesy weasel with his family moments?

I totally rewound that scene to make sure I read it right!!! When did he get married and have kids?! Now, I want to see them too!

I kept trying to see his ring finger to figure out if the wife and kids were hypothetical! But looks like we are going to meet his wife in the next episode!

I’m pretty sure it was mentioned in season 1 that he was married with kids.

On my second watch for Episode 6. Lee YeonJae is very compelling. The way her makeup and femininity was used in this episode was very interesting.

Ending of episode 6! 😳🤯
Hats off to beanies who saw this coming.

ShiMok and YeoJin on the rooftop is my favorite scene so far. They are older, battle scarred and tired. But for a few minutes they both found someone who understood them. I hope their bond survives.

The biggest mystery after YeoJin’s prison visit is who sends the care package to prosecutor Yoon! Will we ever know?

Episode 5 and 6 were amazing. We got to see our old favorites in action. Seo DongJae got to be more than a weasel. We got to see Prosecutor Yoon again. We got Chief Kang interacting with ShiMok. 👏🏽

How is FOS 2 so good. It’ feels like a reflection of our times. The helplessness and weariness the characters feel mirrors the helplessness and weariness I feel with everything going on in the world.

First two episodes were thrilling! The music is still amazing! The first song out is DAAEBAEK!!!

SAME! One of the things that irks me the most about romance dramas is when there’s a couple but they still use “ssi” to refer to each other.

Loved all the hugs 🤗🤗🤗
Could we not have had one more kiss?💋

I did too! I loved that they slept together in the last episode. That was cute. I also love how much Ha-won has changed over the course of this drama and how much he’s come to love Seo-woo. And the Eun-joo Homestay characters? AH-mazing.

I have some lingering questions, though. For example, why did that other character leave the homestay when she found out Chang-sub was dating Eun-joo? Why did she come back after Chang-sub got kicked out?

    2
    2

I think she left because she felt betrayed by Eunjoo. I’m not quite sure, but I felt like the conflict was related to their friendship and not really to Changseob. They probably would have explored it more IF WE DIDNT GET A 4 EPISODE CUT.

I have so many questions and thoughts and wishes.

I wonder if they jettisoned kisses because of the COVID-19 situation.

More kisses would have been nice. There was so much hugging, though, that I doubt the forbearance from kissing had to do with COVID.

I loved the tenderness and warmth 🥰 BUT I was underwhelmed with their interaction for the first time. I think the cuts are having an impact! 🙁

Finally here…

You know, I shat on this soundtrack a lot in the first week, but now I love it. This song, “Rain or Shine” by Elain, and “Slowly Fall” by Ha Hyunsang have done a great job framing the mood of this show.

Also, a complete digression, but how many different coats does Ha-won have? This episode introduced yet another long coat. Is that what he spends his money on? LOL

I’ve given up on trying to make sense of cost usage in kdramas. In almost all of them the characters have so many. SeoWoo to wears like a coat a day. In real life normal people wear one coat for several winters…kdrama characters wear a lift time of coats in a few days!

Episode 10 was full of emotions…I need some powerful healing. Can I get a hug from Jung Hae In too?
🤔😉

If Jung Hae-in is giving out hugs, can I get one, too? Where do I line up?

It’s so fascinating how my opinion of Ha-won has gone through a complete 180 degree switch. First three episodes, I was like, “This guy is deeply unwell and also sort of hard to connect to.” Now I love this character and I was so sad for him throughout this episode, although especially near the end. I also felt for Seo-woo, who was wrestling with the difficult dilemma about whether to tell Ha-won or not (and she showed herself loyal to him in the end, when she refused to work with In-wook and when she pushed Soon-ho to tell Ha-won). My one anxiety for this couple is about how Ha-won will react to Seo-woo’s initial decision not to tell Ha-won about the letter. I hope it doesn’t cause problems for them.

Yeah. Lots of knotty problems. From the hug at the end it looked like they will talk. She was crying and it did seem like he knew she knew about what had happened just not all the particulars. I hope that’s the route they go instead of bringing her taking AI JiSoo or not telling about the letter as a dramatic problem between these two. I have loved this drama because it hasn’t had a lot of angst between the couple so far and I hope they finish the drama that way.
Maybe I’m in the minority but I never felt HaWon was weird. He came across as focused, curious, logical and warm — apart from the JiSoo bad habit. I adore SeoWoo and love HaWon and SeoWoo together.

I think in the first few episodes (especially the first two), the obsession with Ji-soo was overpowering and it made it difficult for me to feel anything other than confusion and pity for him. I agree, though, that he’s otherwise a good character – as you noted, he’s kind, logical, and inquisitive, and most of all he’s a lovely and devoted man who cares a lot for Seo-woo.

I agree. One of things I like about this couple is how they provide each other comfort over their respective pasts. It would be a horrible shame if this stuff broke the trend and became a wedge between them.

Ha-won’s pain near the end of the episode felt so tangible.

    2

It was even more heartbreaking that the pain was because of SoonHo..I hope they can make up. Two episodes is too short…

I was thinking the same thing. It’s horrible that Soon-ho caused him so much pain. The girl needs to pick her friends and choose her loyalties better.

This show deserves four more episodes beyond the two next. It’s such a shame it’s been cut short. I would have loved seeing more cuteness between Ha-won and Seo-woo.

Only three more episodes to go. I’m sad because I was enjoying the slow pace and all those lovely moments between HaWon and SeoWoo. Like the stair case scene! Now we are going to be rushed.

The staircase scene while In-wook was playing the piano? I agree! I find all there moments together so sweet. It’s like watching an old school romance – something from the 1960s or something (okay, maybe not that far back). I loved how they held hands in this episode, how she sang (badly) for him, and how just watched her so adoringly as she comforted him. I wish we had 4 more episodes of this lovely cuteness.

From the previews it looks like we get a kiss in the next episode. For the first time in drama watching I felt like the kiss is coming too soon. I wanted to watch these two slowly take their time and bond and heal and talk and walk for at least one more episode. In these hectic times the gentle pace has been so lovely.

After watching episode 9, my opinion of Kim JiSoo has gone from neutral to negative. She seems to have only thought of HaWon after she heard about InWook and HaWon’s mother and started feeling guilt.

2
3

It appears that she was happy to not be in touch with HaWon or worry about him till InWook tod her about his mistake. Then she writes letters to Counsel Moon saying all sorts of nonsense and that she misses HaWon. I’m side eyeing this quiet a bit 🙄

    2
    1

I had the same thought! I thought Ji-soo was a psycho before this episode, but now I’m even more frustrated with her. However, I did end up understanding why she was so torn up about what her husband did. I thought it might be something innocent or forgivable. Instead, it turned out to be way worse than I thought and motivated by ill-will towards Ha-won (whom I absolutely adore at this point).

      2
      1

Yeah, the mistake was way worse that what I had imagined. I was also surprised that it was an intentional lie rather than a honest mistake. Also, InWook wasn’t a child when it happened, he was 18. So I can understand JiSoo’s pain. I’m conflicted by InWook’s story arc. I feel for SoonHo. She deserves happiness, can the show pair her with KimHoon who I’m liking quiet a bit or just make her not be sad. 🤞🏽
