Beanie level: Chaebol’s poor doppelganger

I find it ironic that I have become a fangirl of Kim Jae Wook while watching show about him falling in love with a fangirl!

I fell for him in Coffee Prince. And you know, Gong Yoo (aka the love of my life) was there. Just saying.

That was it for me too. Coffee Prince and then, Mary who stayed out all night.

Haha yeah for all of us! That was the show’s intent! 😆

Added Her Private Life into the viewing rotation and I love it. Exactly what I was looking for. It’s frothy, cute and hooked me from the beginning.

I’m glad you’re enjoying it! I absolutely loved PMY in it!

I am such a fan of hers. I don’t love every drama she does, but I think she does such a good job in her work.

Same!! She may as well be one of my favorite Korean actresses of all-time. I’m currently watching I’ll Find You on a Beautiful Day and she’s amazing in it.

It’s such a fun watch. PMY and KJW are just fantastic together.
And Ryan Gold is one of the best boyfriends kdrama has given us!!

This is the first thing I’ve seen KJW in something and I love him! I now need to watch everything!

I first saw KJW in Voice and personally, I really liked it. It may not be up your alley because of the dark topics, but he does a complete 180 in roles from his Her Private Life which just shows the breadth of his acting skills!

Watched the first 2 eps of Hospital Playlist and I really like it. I’m not super interested in the side characters, but our 5 leads **chef’s kiss.** I rewatched the restaurant scene so many times.

By the end of this show, you’ll be really invested in the side characters as well! The show does a good job intertwining the lives of the main characters with lives of the side characters, so that your affection for the main characters translates into affection for the side characters as well. Also, I feel like the characters are all generally likable and reasonably well-written. And, if you’re like me, there’s one side character in particular who will become very important to your experience of this show.

When I finished HP, ep 1-2 and 8 were the ones I replayed a lot. Ep 8 because it’s my fave, Ep 1-2 because it gave me a false sense of starting the series like the first time. 2021 can’t come any sooner.

Just finished When the Camellia Blooms and I am now a fan of Kang Ha Neul. I really loved his character and he is major reason why I liked the show so much. I have some qualms about the show in general, but I smiled a lot while watching it so it’s a win in my book. 8/10

The male lead in When the Camellia Blooms is so ADORABLE! I’m 3 episodes in and I want to just squeeze him like a teddy bear.

Kang Ha Neul. You’ll be surprised or rather happy to know that he is more adorable in real life or well variety shows.

Yes!! I LOVED his character <3<3<3

Finished Mystic Pop-Up Bar and what a gem of a drama. It wasn’t perfect, but I really enjoyed it. Next up is When the Camelia Blooms.

I’ve watched 3 eps of Crash Landing on You and….I’m bored. I love Son Yejin and Hyun Bin so how am I bored?

    *whispers*
I was so bored I dropped it and I didn’t think they had any chemistry either, OMG I’m scared now
    *runs away*

I didn’t drop it but it was unbelievably boring with zero chemistry.

It’s so interesting how much people’s mileage can vary on these things. We all watch the same drama and yet for some no chemistry, for some off the charts chemistry.
Personally I love a man in uniform repressing his feelings so I was all over this show 😎 but if we all thought that, there would be nothing to talk about.

I watched it for the soldiers and other side characters.

I also watched it for how they portrayed life in North Korea. It didn’t get less boring for me, but Hyun Bin’s character did grow on me.

While I like the drama as a whole, I understand what you’re feeling. It also felt a bit boring for me at the start, and I thought it had many annoying characters then. For me, it got better around the 5th/6th episode. If you love both leads, I think you’ll like it eventually because they did well here (at least for me).

I’m gonna stick with it and I’m hoping it just takes a while to hook me. Fingers crossed.

Whelp, after a very long hiatus, I am visiting K-dramaland again. Decided to check out Crash Landing on You and VIP. If there is anything else I should watch let me know. I’ve been out of the loop.

Welcome beanie! I’ve come back after a long time too.

If you haven’t watched hospital playlist yet give it a try.

Ohh I heard about this. I’ll add it to the watchlist.

And a welcome back to dramaland to you! 🙂

    Welcome back!
You can try Mystic Pop Up Bar. It’s only 12 episodes and it’s receiving much love from beanies. You will laugh and cry and enjoy the ride!

I saw this last night on Netflix and it looked interesting. I was curious so thanks for the recommendation. I’ll add it to my list!

Right now? Go and watch It’s okay to not be ok. When was the last time you were here???

I just now realized it’s been about a year since I’ve actively watched a show. Honestly the last drama I remember watching in its entirety was The Last Empress when the watch parties were happening. I was in the middle of Romance is a Bonus Book last summer, but never finished it.

I just finished 2 cdramas: Find Yourself and Romance of Tiger and Rose. Both are on Netflix. Both are excellent! When the camillia blooms (Gong Hyo-Jin), the untamed (another excellent wuxia cdrama), Rookie Historian, Touch your heart (the reaper/sunny sequel), secret life of my secretary, her private life, my country (Woo Do-hwan, Yang Sejong, Jang Hyuk!), Crash Landing into you. All these I enjoyed immensely!

If you’re looking for something heart-warming and funny to watch, try Hospital Playlist! The show is awesome and addictive but not like you have to binge it from start to end in one sitting. Highly recommended!

There’s a bunch of new dramas coming out this month! Maybe you’ll find one that interests you in the mix ^^

Next up on the finish this drama watchlist is Romance is a Bonus Book. I made it to ep 6 before my hiatus. Fingers crossed it keeps my interest.

So, I’m trying to finish some dramas I was in the middle off before my unintentional hiatus and I’m on the last episode of Descendants of the Sun. I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy to finish a show. Surprisingly that was a struggle to get through.

4
4

No. I dropped it like 6 episodes in. Even that was a struggle.

    1
    1

I enjoyed it in the beginning, but probably should have dropped it after ep 10 or 11. Such a struggle.

With Descendants of the Sun, I actually found the secondary romance more interesting than the main one. But have to at least give the drama credit for its lack of both a love triangle and noble idiocy…

    2
    1

The secondary romance was waaaaayyyyyy more interesting. The love triangle and noble idiocy was replaced by high stakes life and death situations…that were actually low stakes because there was no way any of those characters would have died LOL

Hi Beanies! Long time no visit. It’s been an odd couple of months but I’m getting back into the swing of things. It’s been difficult trying to find some dramas to watch, but I’ve found a few that have peaked my interest. Hope you guys have been well.

Oh, now that I will be watching k-dramas again, let me know what I should watch. I gotta finish Romance is a Bonus Book, but I have not a clue what’s worth watching in the month I’ve been absent.

Hi Beanies! Long time no talk. Didn’t realize it had been a month. March kinda kicked my butt. I’ve been reading a lot and rewatching Game of Thrones so dramas have taken a backseat, but I’m hoping to get back to drama watching in April.

Welcome back! I recently broke my drama hiatus too. All the talk about The Light in Your Eyes enticed me to start watching it!

Same!!! I hadn’t really picked up a new show until that one

Why on earth am I watching My Only One? It’s my background noise drama so I’m only half paying attention to it and I’m annoyed! I may have to drop it cause the moms and sis in law are just……bleh

2

I dropped it a few weeks back because of those two. I will pick it back up for the last few eps IF DoRan and DaeRyuk grow a backbone.

    1

I understand there has to be conflict and annoying characters in a longer drama, but there is zero growth with those characters. Ugh

I’ve been a little MIA the past few days, but today I’m gonna watch some kdrama while eating tacos from my fav food truck, the Kogi Truck. They serve Mexican-Korean food fusion and their short rib tacos are AMAZING. I may splurge and get a kimchi quesadilla as well!

Yay for Taco Tuesday!

You are definitely in my area. lol. They come to my city on Fridays at 10. I forget all the time so I don’t get to eat them often. Hopefully I’ll remember this Friday.

Every Tuesday they are in a neighborhood about 20 mins from me and I just discovered on Thursdays they are in park even closer to me. This is very dangerous!
