      Nope! It’s a dehumidifier, a very important appliance during those humid summer months/monsoon season.

      The humidifier is on the left, which puts moisture into the air (often seen in dramas as part of a hospital scene, but useful during the dry, winter months), and the dehumidifier is on the left, which removes moisture from the air (which is helpful in the humid summer months/drying clothes/etc). They are created to do the exact opposite of each other, which is why Ma-ru wonders which one would win in a face-off — the machine that puts moisture in the air, or the machine that removes the moisture?

      That is Japanese actress Miho Nakayama, who is best known for her famous role in the film “Love Letter.” She and Kim Jae Wook star in the indie film “Butterfly Sleep” which is premiering at Busan International Film Festival (hence the red carpet!).
