These so called language experts should stop. The fact that the subtitle/cc are about 95% accurate, means (s)he did it outstandingly. These translated versions are obviously not for them. I know its annoying that the culture you are familiar with being translated toward a different directions, but the thing is, the drama story it self isnt really about it. They should be patient for a while, wait for more k-film/drama get international recognition and people started to know more about k-culture; just like how now we know when those aussies call you “mate” doesnt always means that you know each other.
What they doing rightnow is bullying. They online bully a person who did his(her) job outstandingly. Not exactly a culture you want to show off to the rest of the world.

    I complain about bad translations as much as the next person, but I also recognize that it’s a difficult job and sometimes all they can do is give the general idea. Netflix is not Viki, a site specifically for k-drama lovers. It’s hard enough to get a general audience to read subtitles, much less ones that go into all the nitty gritty details of the Korean culture.
