I had absolutely no plans to pick this one up, but I’m kinda happy I did, because it’s fun! Go Kyung-pyo is absolutely amazing as a straight-laced, yet somewhat silly Ki-baek. I felt sorry for him, was rooting for him, was annoyed on his behalf, and finally cackled like crazy when his filter disappeared – all of that in span of one hour.

Frankly Speaking does seem kinda wacky (toilet humor was not neccessary), but it’s the kind of wacky I think I’ll enjoy. GKP’s great chemistry with Kang Hanna is just a cherry on top of this chaotic cake. Also it’s fun to have a Wed-Thu drama after so long!

P.S. Am I just too obsessed with Byun Woo-seok these days, or is the guy on this resume really Byun Woo-seok? I could swear it’s him… It’s the lips! It’s totally his lips!

Beanies, I’m this 🤏 close to losing it. The way he approached with some reservation, not daring to be hopeful, yet with this glint in his eyes that searches for something. And then, when she tilted the umbrella to cover him in such a perfect evocation of how they first met… The way he looks at her… The way he barely holds back… I have lost it. I’m deceased. Sun Sol is the death of me ☀️☀️

You’re telling me I have to wait for six days? After THIS PREVIEW??? Do you want me to shrivel up and waste away? Or maybe lose my mind and perish? Aaaaaaaaa…

On more serious note: somehow I’m not even remotely mad at the all too well known psycho/murderer angle nor am I mad at the rejection… Is it due to the power of Sun Sol (a ship name for our lovely sunshine-like leads that @seeker said is nice, hee 🌞🌞)? Might be because of Sun Sol. I have an inkling it’s caused by Sun Sol. Not sure though.

P.S. The pettiness competition between Sun-jae and Tae-sung is too much fun. Had to feature it here.

P.P.S. Sun-jae ‘playing it cool’ is even more fun 😂

      Same! This drama is really reminding me of why I got into k-dramas in the first place; the agony of live-watching, the rewatching of best moment while waiting for the new episode and the ovewhelming giddiness that accompanies it all just cannot be replicated ❤

      Tae-sung seems like a genuinely good guy under all the bravado. I’m really curious about his 2023 self – whether he’s managed to steer himself in the right direction in life and all. Yet another reason to CRY over the fact that it’s still too many days away…

Just drama, I swear 😫 One moment I’m flying high above the clouds, then my newly sprouted wings are ripped clean off my back. I was wondering about the direction the story will take, and oh boy we are in for a rollercoaster. Needless to say, I’m eating it all up. How can I not, when these two are being like THIS???

Fortunately, I got more things from episode 2; yes, there was still swooning over Byun Woo-seok aplenty, but day 2 also got me hooked on the drama itself. I forgot how freaking lovely Kim Hye-yoon is 😍 And the last scene? I was screaming (silently, cause it’s late, lol) with excitement I haven’t felt in a while. It changeddddddd!

P.S. 5% of me feels sorry for KHY’s neck. The rest is feasting her eyes on this delicious height difference. It’s absolutely glorious.

    I silently screeched a few times watching episode 1 😂 I’m looking forward to watching episode 2 tonight and screeching some more!! Also, I’ve decided this beautiful, magical school can show up in as many dramas as it wants to – it’s become an accomplished side character by now!

Took me almost a whole month to get back here, damn! I’m dumping it mainly on Doctor Slump which turned out to be such a freaking last minute flop, giving me zero motivation to post here. But with Kim Soo-hyun back, I have also returned 💪 Today it’s not about him though (I know, such a blasphemy, but I’m still working through my feelings regarding the premiere week, and will most likely need week two to figure it out).

Today it’s about the one and only Chae Jong-hyeop, whom I believed I couldn’t adore any more than I already do. But there he goes, crossing seas to show off his dimples and break hearts in the land of the rising sun. And I’m eating up every second of it. He’s so cute! I love him 😍😍😍

So many, many pretty bows tying the ending of Marry My Husband, but I found myself waiting for Mr. Lee’s appearance all the time, and getting distracted when he was not there (his character is such a good change to the story!). I think in the end I still prefer that other marriage+revenge themed, webtoon based drama (that’s how genres are created, lol); it just knew what it wanted, knew what audience wanted, delivered plenty of that and didn’t overstay its welcome. I feel like this one did, just a little.

(Obviously I’ll be finishing up my posts on this drama with the one and only. Main couple? Who are they? ㅋㅋㅋ)

I guess I should’ve expected that showering me with this kind of cavity-inducing sweetness this early on would only leave me with ruined teeth. But alas… The fluffy rug has been ripped right from under my feet.

          We all got fooled by the “I received around 100 scripts after Red Sleeve‘ talk, and thought he chose something awesome out of the bunch, when in reality he chose one that required nothing of him acting-wise. Or maybe we were just fooled by our blind love for him. Probably both, hee.

    And Park Hyung Sik effortlessly giving her loving moony eyes. It will always be a mystery to me how he does it. Then again, there ARE those people who are naturally born with such expressive eyes, him being one of them 😍

      Don’t tell me about it! I keep melting when I see how he looks at her. He’s truly amazing when it comes to eye-acting (lol).

      The only other pro I can think of off the top of my head is Yoo Seung-ho. That guy could tell you a whole novel with his eyes.

        Oh my goodness, yes!!!! And YSH can for both ways:
        Make you think he’s smitten and in love (a la “I’m not a Robot”) or makes you feel very, very afraid of him (a la his character, Harry, in that drama which I’ve now forgotten its name 😅)

Goodness, Park Hyung-sik is seriously outdoing himself with this one. He’s got around 100 different expressions per minute, and each is better than the previous one. I love himmmmm!!! He’s the absolute riot when it comes to comedy.

    Agreed! I feel like we’ve gotten PHS back and even better after the slump of his last drama who’s name I can’t remember, and didn’t fit that depressing tale.

    I also think he is doing really well in the more nuanced parts like when he was just drinking by himself after overhearing her family say Haenul shouldn’t hang out with him since he may bring her down. No words but the pain was so evident. He really needs one real friend not that shower guy!

      But of course! I may have focused on the comedy side of things because he was so on the roll this week, but by no means does it take away from the other aspects of his peformance. He’s crazy good here in general; both when it comes to light fluff + comedy, and deeper, heavier emotions.

      I couldn’t help but think about him when I was writing about how expressive PHS is. This guy’s going to be stuck in my head for a long time, I worry. Maybe it is MY turn to hold a grudge for 1500 years? 😂
