Trying to complete this challenge. I skipped those I don\’t have a particular book in mind.

Day 20 – Favorite romance book
Maybe Someday
Or any Colleen Hoover book. I\’m a sucker for her tragic and angsty love stories. I thought of putting \”It Ends With Us\” because it\’s my favorite book of hers but I tihnk that book is more about self-love and healing.

Day 21 – The first novel you remember reading
Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Day 22 – A book that makes you cry
Finding Chika
I\’m a crier so it\’s highly likely I always shed tears on sad books. This one is a recent read and I was ugly crying the entire time.

Day 28 – Favorite title of a book
The Princess Saves Herself in This One
This is a poetry book. Not really a remarkable one but the title itself is already catchy and empowering.

Day 30 – Your favorite book of all time
The Alchemist
I lot of people think this one is overrated but I really liked the message this book was trying to convey. It truly touched my heart and soul in a different level.

Anyone knows when Twinkle Twinkle Little Star will start airing? Can’t seem to find it in the Coming Soon section on Netflix. I was really looking forward to this one. I knew they halted production due to COVID but idk if the premiere was pushed back even further?

There’s a new BL series also airing next week. BL fans said this is unproblematic (which also majority said that it is boring like what they said about UWMA). And since both of you liked UWMA, here it is!

    Just this morning, I finished watching (fast-forwarding 90% of it, actually, not really “watching”) “Kiss Again”, and now I’m in the middle of watching the sequel, “Dark Blue Kiss”. If I can “Oxygen: The Series somewhere, I’ll probably check it out 🤔🤔🤔

      That’s actually one of the few BL series I was actively commenting on youtube because I was so pissed at the main lead 😂 Enjoy! It’s actually cute how they incorporated famous romcom movies per episode.

I don\’t even know why I finished this until the end. Full of mysogynistic remarks. Ugh, I wish I could unread this.

Can\’t think of any book that falls in this category.

Jodi Picoult / Mitch Albom / Colleen Hoover
I always like the majority of the books they put out.

Day 14 – Book turned into a movie and completely desecrated
Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children / City of Bones
The Peculiar movie was directed by Tim Burton so it did have the Edward Scissorhands x Sweeney Todd undertone in it. But!!! How can they just reassign the peculiarity like that? The heroine just can\’t have the fire power? Why!? I stilll feel betrayed at that.
City of Bones was just so bad I didn\’t even get to finish the first half of the movie.

Day 15 – Favorite male character
Atticus Finch
I can never be as principled as Atticus in my entire lifetime.

Day 16 – Favorite female character
Katniss Everdeen
I mentioned in my previous post that The Hunger Games was a cult favorite way back in college and I was one of those who wanted to be Katniss Everdeen shouting \”I volunteer!\” Lol

    Just quietly adding To Kill A Mockingbird and The Hunger Games to my re-read list; it’s going to be so long by the end of this month! I loved Katniss, I ate up those books in the space of a few days.

Stupid is Forever / Stupid is Forevermore
By former Philippine senator Miriam Defensor Santiago. Full of witty remarks and funny but intentional jabs at her opponents. And the trashes in the government.

Day 8 – Most overrated book
The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck / Sense & Sensibility / Fifty Shades
The first one is actually quite okay (less the cocky storytelling) but it’s a fad. The second was actually a snoozefest for me but again maybe I’m not a fan of classics. The third book speaks for itself.

Day 9 – A book you though you wouldn’t like but end up loving
To Kill A Mockingbird
This was recommended to me for the longest time but I kept postponing reading this. I though this was gonna be all political. It actually showed social landscape of that time in 1930s. Atticus Finch is a hero that is a testament to not all heroes wear capes.

Day 10 – A book that reminds you of home
For One More Day
I just love this book so much.

It’s so cute and fluffy. I initially came for the romance but I stayed because I liked the heroine. She’s mature and determined.

Percy Jackson & The Olympians
I couldn’t stop reading it when I encountered the books. I finished three books in one day. I wasn’t even a fan of mythology but this series made me research all about it.
The Hunger Games
To say I liked this series is an understatement. It was a cult favorite back when I was in college. My roommates and I were crazy about all of it. Ohhh brings back memories.

    So beautiful in so many ways. Mr Sunshine, my first. I didn’t appreciate Yoo Yeon-seok as Goo Dong-mae at first, but then I saw in Hospital Playlist – a wonderful character. I’d love to see him in Steel Rain 2. Such varied roles and almost impossible to identify as the actor Yoo Yeon-seok. It’s funny how that happens, and once the penny drops for me, it makes me want to go back and check the actor out all over again. The three mae leads in Mr Sunshine were real value, and then there was Kim Tae-ri….

That was a satisfying finale for me. I liked how it ended in such a heartwarming note. I’m actually glad it didn’t go on an all-out psycho thriller on the plot twist. I don’t think it’ll make the same moving impact if it did.

Oh Jung-Se owned his Moon Sang Tae role (and he definitely deserves awards for this). As usual, Kim Soo Hyun makes me cry everytime he cries. Seo Ye Ji has always been a girl crush of mine and she slays this role too.

Feels like I’m letting go as a comfort hug now. Great job, show!

Still at Ep 9 of Mr. Sunshine but having 3 guys pinning over the female lead kind of stresses me out already.

    Mr Sunshine was my first kdrama. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing – so beautiful and so different to anything I’d seen before. It made me want to read up on Korean history, especially about the righteous army. Soft diplomacy really works.

      Me too! Everytime I watch period dramas, I always end up researching the history. I think I know more of Korean history now than my country’s own. Shameful. 😂

Since IOTNBO is the only show on my plate rn, I checked out Mr. Sunshine. Damn, the cinematography is A+! But I have a feeling I’ll be sad real soon. Did I mention YYS looks so hot?

    Yes! The acting is soooo good. I can feel layered of emotions that are contradictory, aka MY is also confused of what to feel at the moment. Props to SYJ in ep 10!

    Love how he uses his own experience to tell this to his patient. It becomes relatable.

    Super Junior’s Heechul had a similar situation. Got into a car accident in 2007, had a metal rod inserted in his leg. It hurt but he kept dancing and practicing instead of letting it fully heal. Now that he’s older, he can’t ignore the pain amd can’t perform on stage anymore. 🙁

        Yep. It’s too hard for him to dance now. SS7S was his last and he mentioned giving it his all even if he faints on stage. ㅠㅠ I’m so bummed I didn’t get to watch.
