Thank you for sharing I agree on the actor name and shaming. The processing of recent events and watching the impact of the negative comments on self esteem etc. as portrayed on dramas makes it very hard to read. I often wonder how the people dropping these comments would feel if people saw them in their workplace and did the equivalent about their work. I assume they would not care because they are all on their A game all of the time. Like you, I would prefer not to read it and hope that the actors don’t ever read it either.
I am going to continue to work very hard on not personalising things I don’t like re styling and storylines.
If you want to be a celebrity in Korea, make sure you are not popular enough to be used by the govt who has strong ties to medias and law enforcement. If you are too popular, you became the easy target because they know public hate someone like popular and rich celebrity. They didn’t have to do anything, just make sure the news headlines as scandalous it can be so that public will become the judge and getting petition to punish you. Then, Law enforcement later will have to find any “evidence” of your misconduct even something small years ago to said, yes, you did something wrong and will be indicted by court of law. By then, the public will only see what they want to see; you are guilty and does not deserve any second chance.
Pinocchio has highlighted all this yet public will never learn.
Rest in peace to those who can’t stand the pressure anymore.
Thankful to those who managed to survive this hell.
If this is indeed true, the public is the biggest bullies of all? The government the manipulator, the law enforcement and media the criminals, the public stupid and bullies, and the rich and famous victims.
Is this drama titled Worst Than Evils? Because to me, it looks so.
public become a bullies without realizing they’ve been played the biggest baddiest corrupt govt and chaebol. its so easy for them to distract the public away from their own scandal with oversensationalized “celebrity suspected on using drug” “celebrity caught at room salon” news, sometimes based on report from “anonymous informant”.
the thing I hate the most, they know what they do when they involved medias on every step of investigation. like every single interrogation will end up on news. media will always on standby at police station whenever those artist call for interrogation. it sickening and dehumanizing. but they would not change even though they have laws to prevent it, since it brings them views and money.
People deserve its own government, and it’s the people that make each country. I think I’ve overestimated them all. It’s true that there might have been instigators, but people there are old enough to be able to distinguish right from wrong, and it’s apparent that they just can’t. They have this unbelievably unrealistic standards of how celebrities should live, and they monitor these people’s lives like it’s the most critical thing in the world. How bent this all is? when what they should do is to live their own good lives and help others. They should have known a long time ago that their internet culture is toxic, yet they do nothing about that.
Yeah.. I probably have overestimated them all. Kdramas did fool me into believing in things that don’t necessary happen or that they have there.
It ends beautifully even though it kinda rush. This is one of few dramas that can benefit from one more episode extension. Too bad this kind youth drama will never gather the rating that deserve extension from broadcasting company. For me, the heart and soul of this drama is definitely Yi Chan and Eun Gyeol relationship. They have one of beautiful father-son bonds. From their bond, they created another great bond with Watermelon Sugar band, with Chung Ah and Eunyu.
Im glad young Yi Chan managed to overcome his obstacles, his pain even without Eun Gyeol and Chung Ah by his side. The butterfly effect created by Eun Gyeol arrival, changing his mother’s fate, in the end benefit Yi Chan’s future too. Yi Chan also retain his playful self in future. Suddenly I want a spin off of Chung Ah- Yi Chan reunion in college. It will be painful because Chung Ah leaving without knowing Yi Chan major life change and it will beautiful knowing that their loves getting stronger till now.
The whiplash from sad scenes to funny scenes tho 💀💀💀 Suddenly wake up to being reborn rich, definitely we want that Eun Gyeol’s luck, right 🤭🤭
Actually made me wish they has started from the end then given us a flashback to catch up the last 28 years, particularly the parents’ love story, marriage, early years, birth of the children. 😀
Yes I felt so empty after it finished. I needed more 😭. Their 2023 version is still unknown to me, so I needed some closure. I guess I’ll be hanging over it like a ghost a few days before I finally move on *sigh*
On the other hand, this ep shows us what happen to Yi Chan and the band in first timeline. Hyunhyul was saved from his legs broken and the boys gone separate ways after the rehearsal. What does it mean in the new timeline? They can’t prevent then incident but they did change something from worst case scenario to a positive one. And did this butterfly effect has start effecting the future in any way?
We can see Chung Ah mending her relationship with her father. Will the boys grow up with their grandfather around?
Watermelon Sugar survived the Great Rehearsal Incident and were not disbanding. Will they still stay in contact with each other in the future?
Now Yi Chan and his accident. Will he still lose his hearing? Will the Watermelon Sugar boys learning sign language to communicate with Chung Ah in this new timeline, change the direction of how they view Yi Chan’ situation? Instead of looking sad when they see Yi Chan, they will stay positive and help YI Chan go on with his life, instead?
DadYiChan, please hug our Eun Gyeol tightly when he return to 2023, ok? He needs that a lot from you after that traumatizing event. I shed some tears seeing him crying while hugging bloody unconscious Yi Chan while saying sorry 😭 😭 😭. Its not your fault, ok? You already did your best, trying to save Yi Chan from his fate.
Ha Eun Ho. Despite his brand of naughtiness and boisterous personality, he cares A LOT about his family. I wonder when did he suspect his dad can hear and talk just fine in his youth. I love his heart to heart talk with his dad. He looks so mature unlike we’ve seen him with Eun Gyeol. I echoed Tabong @enriquequierecagar sentiment. We just need ONE (1)!! Ep to see his POV on his relationship with his dad, mom and Eun Gyeol as well as Eunyu.
I feel like Eun Ho silently observes and analyses everything. And when he understands the situation completely, he does what he can to help.
He’s energetic and chill but also thoughtful. And it seems like he is living his life, unlike Eun Gyeol, but he still cares and supports the family. He reminds me to Yi Chan more than Eun Gyeol.
I reaaaaaaally would love to see his POV. Even if it’s only one episode! That would be lovely. 🥺
Absolutely. He lives his life not because he doesn’t know or feel the difficulties but because it is a choice. He encourages his brother to live because he knows that it is the only way to balance out life’s struggles.
His carefree attitude is not shallow but in its own way a challenge to life.
Exactly!
And I always felt like his personality was some kind of response to Eun Gyeol’s.
Like him trying to show Eun Gyeol that he could be a kid and the world wasn’t going to end because of that.
As if he was trying to remind Eun Gyeol that they are teenagers.
this ep make me see him as a hyung instead of “maknae” that Eun Gyeol need to protect. the maturity was truly hidden behind his clown behavior. Eun Ho is correct. Eun Gyeol needs to let go this burden to be the
one responsible for his family and enjoy his life too. Eun ho is doing just fine. Mom and dad also doing just fine. Disability or not, they are doing just fine with life.
I just want this entire family to live a happy twinkling life in the face or any or all troubles. Yi-chan and Chung-ah have ready overcome so much but still chose to be happy and give a happy life to their children and protected them from all darkness. It is time for the children to realise that and be happy with their parents. Eun-ho already seems to know this so basically just Eun-gyeol needs this.
Yichan instinct to protect Eun Gyeol went beyond two worlds. Is it his natural instinct to protect everyone around him like him with Chung Ah when they first met or is it his fatherly instinct that always said he will save Eun Gyeol first because Eun Gyeol is his angel? It seems that Yi Chan has this invincible sensor that always seems to detect Eun Gyeol in danger. One of the best Dad-Son combo ever to grace our screen.
they raised their son with love and care. Caring just like them. unlike what happen to themselves and their parents . they avoid the generational trauma. good job, Ha Yi Chan & Yoon Chung Ah!!
They are reAally great parents giving their sons the love they never got. I really wish this family a happy ending and I desperately hope the trip into the past causes some pleasant changes to them
Twinkling watermelon writer has a thing for her FL traumatized for life because she was hidden in locked, dark room by their step parents ☹. Back then, its Oh Ri Jin from KMHM, now its Chung Ah.
No wonder Chung Ah said she was orphan to her children. That’s no family. That’s monster.
I’m wondering how OG timeline Chung Ah got away for good from her family.
They are all 18. All of the not mature enough to do any sane plan or decision making. Eunho with his “saving appa’s hearing” mission and Eunyu finding “omma 1st love mission so I will not be born”. They have goal but they didn’t have any proper plan to execute it. Behold, Eunho with jumping into the sea to stop Yichan from going to rehearsal and prevent the accident and Eunyu choosing Yichan instead of Eunho and unknowingly hurting Chung Ah’s heart in the process.
But fate already set in stone. Eunho only delayed the incident, yet it still happened. Yichan hearing might still impaired in the future. While Eunyu finally know that Segyeong 1st love will always be her father. She just need to understand that their love has changes and its not her fault that her mom turn to worst after their divorce. Both Eunho and Eunyu let go of their mission on changing the future and understand the lesson is that they are there to enjoy and appreciate their youth, so they then can go home to their family.
it will be sad that Yichan will lose his hearing and nothing Eungyeol did can change that, just like he can’t change how his father falling for Chung Ah. But im glad that older Yichan does not seem to resent that fate. He’s happy with his Chung Ah, Eunho and Eungyeol. Hopefully Eungyeol will also remember that and appreciate that his father enjoys his youth to the fullest, being in a band, singing so joyfully, falling in love with the love of his life and learning to be happy together.
However, I hope that Eungyeol’s present will change some things too in future. Like in future Chung Ah and the boys will have some contact with her father positively. That chairman is changing, he’s happy to see his daughter genuinely smile for the 1st time. Hoping that he will continue to be a better father to Chung Ah so that Eunho and Eungyeol will have grandpa in the future.
Can’t wait to see Eunho 5th girlfriend. Naughty casanova hyung. Eunyu, please throw water to the right person,eh. In case you are the true 5th gf 🤭. Spare Eungyeol for being the spokeperson, ok.
This bit made no sense to me, if one girl stood out from the others why were there others who were involved enough to get annoyed at Eungyeol? I don’t think the brother is that good looking to have that many girls chasing him down or respond positively to his approach so is it his deafness that attracts them?
I can definitely see how Eungyeol has both Yichan and Chung Ah trait. Bold and tough like his mom, soft and caring as his father.
While Eunho, may look like Chung Ah, he has Yichan’s boisterous personality. And I guess a bit delusional like Yichan too 🤭. Eunho only assume that his so-called GF from IG likes him, right?. Just like Yichan with Segyeong. We need confirmation what kind of relationship Eunho and his so-called GF have, which I assume is Eungyu, before the drama ends, show!
“Cause, darling, I\’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream”
Im quoting Blank Space lyrics for Eungyeol’s dream. It definitely fit him right now. Every time he think how his heart crushing on Eungyu, he’ll saw Segyeong as his mom instead 😝
i LOVE how #TwinklingWatermelon unfolding this week, we learn that EunGyeol mom has one of the saddest backstory and how Yi Chan gatecrashing that party lead to Chung Ah to have her first laugh in awhile.
it seems that this timeslip will not change Yi Chan -Chung Ah\’s fates as a couple. it has been set in stone even if their first meet has been changed due to Eun Gyeol / Segyeong\’s daughter sudden appearance. Even with Yi Chan with his “ in love with Segyeong” brain, he will always gravitated to Chung Ah in a way or another.
This timeslip is just solely for Eungyeol and Eungyu to learn about their parents better and enjoy their youth in a good way. hopefully it will also bring justice to Chung Ah desolate live. Her stepmom is piece of work.
Its nice to see Choi Won Young and Ryeoun reunited after Doctor Prisoner, this time as father-son duo. Choi Won Young always slay in fatherly roles. But to see that one lively and bubbly teenager went from hearing and talking to being hearing impaired and struggle with lives. What happen? Did he get into accident? Or contracted diseases that effect his hearing?
#TwinklingWatermelon
Not OP, but it seems like Korean actors don’t get married? Like nearly every male actor in my country, who is older than 30 is married. Here, I automatically assume someone is unmarried and I am nearly always right.
But these poor things are dating, sleeping with people and living with others hopefully far from the prying eyes of tabloids and the somewhat unhinged critical mass of the netizens so some would be inclined to marry at some point.
because i thought he’s still in his 30s 😂. apparently he’s already in his 40s which actually standard age for male actors to get married. he looks young!! 😅
Got a glimpse of Twinkling Watermelon pre-release for Ep 1. we are in for tears, right? 😥
to know that his father at one point on his life can hear and talk just fine. i wonder what will went wrong with Choi Hyun Wook character.
The 1st Responders. You can be as good as Partner of Justice, yet you become a mess with this screen and plotwise imbalance toward one lead. Now you just kill one which were my favorite. Great.

they raised their son with love and care.

Spare Eungyeol for being the spokeperson, ok.

wait isn’t ML the older son.. is he the youngest?
I think 5th gf might be the other cellist .. who died..and not the FL..
it will be weird to date all three – dad, brother, ML

Now that you mentioned it, I can see it! Eun Ho is some kind of Yi Chan 2.0. They have the same chaotic (but cute) energy.

Not OP, but it seems like Korean actors don’t get married? Like nearly every male actor in my country, who is older than 30 is married. Here, I automatically assume someone is unmarried and I am nearly always right.

But these poor things are dating, sleeping with people and living with others hopefully far from the prying eyes of tabloids and the somewhat unhinged critical mass of the netizens so some would be inclined to marry at some point.

The 1st Responders. You can be as good as Partner of Justice, yet you become a mess with this screen and plotwise imbalance toward one lead. Now you just kill one which were my favorite. Great.

I dislike S1 that I didn’t even bother with S2. Do you watch Shadow Detective 2, it another BIG dissapoint.
