The ML is still not growing on me in WCAL. What was he doing for the past 5 years except for writing that damn book? Did he come looking for her? Try to contact her in anyway? It was probably his indifference of sorts that broke them apart and not just the loneliness on her part.

I don’t like the fiancé either. He knows clearly she doesn’t love him yet he is marrying her. And df is the 2FL? Have some pride for the love of god woman!

All of the characters are not growing on me. Non of them are communicating to each other, they say what they want to say but not hearing what the other wants to say. Also drama is so slow, glad it’s 6 eps only. From ep 1-3, I personally think the source material is better suited for a movie rather than a drama.

I was also discussing in another post that the timeline of their romance doesn’t fill the ‘earth shattering’ romance vibe they are selling. How long were they even together for? 6 months?

Yep estimated 6 months. I’ve also discussed their dating timeline doesn’t match the angst their showing. My previous post: “I feel Hong and Jungo breakup reason will make or break the drama for me. The breakup reason must be solid and make sense for both of them to be so stuck in time. Their level of angst is what I expected from super long committed couples like FL and ex-fiance in Love Next Door. Instead we got zilch angst from LND couple but major angst from WCAL in present time. Interestingly both breakup was requested by the FL in both dramas.”

After watching ep 3, the breakup + timeline is starting to break my viewing experience 😅.

The intro of the 2FL is a bit suss so I am hoping she will have something to do with the breakup to fuel the angst. 6 months is nothing to create this level of heartbreak otherwise.

She’s Jungo’s ex before he met Hong. From the book translations and reviews I read, I don’t think she has anything to do with the breakup. Iiinm, it was more about Hong being lonely, korea-japan tension, and ultimately they have so little in common when they were together.

Hmm. Then the plot doesn’t have any substance then. Nothing in common, different cultures, different language. They should be glad it is over.
