Thanks for sharing. I don’t come off the site for these posts but I hope you get some new readers.

On a completely different note, did you recently level up to an Errand boy or have you been one for a while and I just didn’t notice until now?

I hope your rough patch is a dim and distant memory.

I love your fan wall picture it’s so pretty.

You are welcome. I hope my posts aren’t making you uncomfortable. I just wanted to share my thoughts with fellow beanies.
I have been on Drama Beans for about 2 years and I have just leveled up to Errand Boy a few days ago.

This thought suddenly hit me. What if Rowoon makes a cross over cameo in Lovely Runner Ha-ru? Just the idea makes me excited and it will be a chance for much fun and jokes.

Hyun-woo has been Hae-in’s savior all along even when they both had no idea about it.

Eun-seong may be sneaky but if Hyun-woo and Hae-in put their heads together, they will beat him. Team up already

Exactly. They’re a bit late on the Teaming Up that I’ve been expecting ⏰ tic-tock!

Beanies, the Baeksang awards nominees list is out. But some categories leave me baffled while others keep me torn. Still, there are some clear winners for me, mainly best new actor/actress.

11

The most glaring omissions for me are Kim Ji Won for QoT and Song Ha-yoon for “Marry My Husband.” In both cases, their male co-star was nominated (and deservedly so) but they were overlooked. I also don’t agree with the nom for the director of “Worst of Evil,” (the directors of “Daily Dose of Sunshine” and “My Dearest” definitely deserved it more) and think the only award-worthy work related to that drama is JCW’s performance, but he wasn’t nominated, either. Oh, but I should say Bibi’s nom makes sense–she did do a good job with a pretty one-note role.

I’m also baffled as to why “QoT” was left out of both the screenplay and directing categories. It almost feels like although he absolutely deserved a nom, Kim Soo Hyun got the nom just because he’s KSH, and as a result, a lot of other great work associated with that drama was ignored. Bizarre.

Also a little perplexed at Shin Dong Mi’s nom for Best Supporting for “Welcome to Salmadri.” She was fine, but nothing remarkable. Again, Song Ha-yoon deserved a nod there instead.

Glad to see Yoo Na, Ra Mi Ran, Ahn Eun Jin, and “Moving” get recognition.

I can’t agree more with the best actress and supporting actress categories. Besides Kim Ji-won, how can they leave Kim Tae-ri out? I am a scaredy cat so I couldn’t watch revenant but everyone kept commenting on how she nailed her role.
I am baffled as to how Good Bad Mother got nominated as best drama and best screen play when it was traumatizing to say the least with a fizzling out finale week.
Agree with as well with best director category as worst of evil for sure isn’t fit into the category. And My Dearest for sure is more deserving.
Best supporting actress for me is Fl’s friend in Behind your touch. She stole the show for me.

      1

I didn’t see “Behind” so I can’t comment on that actress, but I absolutely agree about Kim Tae-ri. She was amazing in “Revenant.”

II can see why “Good Mother” got its noms. I know a lot of people had issues with how the drama portrayed the mom’s tough love/abuse (I did, too), but overall, it’s a well written, structured, and acted drama that’s exactly the kind of ambitious blend of genres that tends to get nominated. So that one made sense to me.

I am guessing the choice to leave Song Ha Yoon out is deliberate and very personal, considering her scandal.

I didn’t hear about the scandal but she was the pillar of the show. So, it is a pity.

        Wait, what?! Off to google.

Ok, I’m back. This stuff is so hard. On one hand, bullies need to be held accountable. On the other, it’s difficult to know the truth and humans are complicated. Regardless, she still deserved this nom for her work.

And it has been …. 20 years? The statutes of limitation on a number of sever criminal offences is less than that.

I just realized Twinkling Watermelon got no nominations. How could they do this to Lee Chan?

      6
      1

I’m happy for My Dearest and Knight Flower, and the nomination to the Art Director in The Matchmakers (well deserved).

Yeah, I am so happy for Honey Lee and the matchmakers sure deserve it. Nam Goongmin is one of the best yet underrated actors.

Same here. I was telling myself I could get through it, but then the last scene came and killed me. I signed up for a rom-com. Why are they doing this to me? (crying sound)

Episode 7 is rough. It’s the first one that I struggled a bit to get through. It’s not depressing exactly, and the angst is well done, but their miscommunication is especially sad and frustrating right now. I trust the writer to turn things around, though.

It’s also the funniest … or maybe I’m getting the humor now. Hyun-woo’s “motivation” for Hae-in worked like a charm. 🤭🤷‍♀️

It had a good balance of funny moments best of which Hae-in in red and the employees caught in between our owl and eagle.😂😂😂

Happy weekend beanies. Could yo recommend me a website to download kdrama osts for free? Thanks in advance.

I don’t think we can recommend illegal thing on dramabeans 😅

It’s a pity that spotify free only lets you listen to samples now 😅. But I have found a way around that 🤭. You can save the entire OST to your playlist by clicking on “like all songs”, check out the sample tracks, then screenshot their names. You can then search for your favourite tracks on youtube using their native names. Or, just search for “(drama native name) OST” on youtube. It is easier to find all the tracks using Korean/ native titles. Youtube saves the day! Yay! Happy weekend to you too!

Hello beanies I am going through a rough patch so I hope you will recommend me some truly healing dramas. I can’t take anything that goes dark along the way, so please only healing drama. Thanks a lot

Wedding Impossible It is such a blast. I like the female lead but not fond of younger brother. Hoping it stays fun without succession battles.

Doctor Slump Is the show going slow now or is it just me? I am still enjoying this healing journey but spending half the episode on Ha-neul and mum is too much when second leads barely have screentime

2
2

slow, meandering, there isn’t a plot really.. just an attempt at some slice of life (trend post cha cha’s success)..

if not for the leads… this show is totally meaningless

    2
    1

It has been like this since last week. Most of ep 8 was Ha-neul wondering if they are dating and then we got hit by Kyung-min stealing her work. And episode 9 is just the same. The blind date was unnecessary. It would have been better if mum had a heart to heart with Ha-neul after the breakup and told her not to be guilty. And we got more of the secondary leads or whatever else. What aches me is the potential. Ha-neul helping Jeong-woo get over the PTSD and opening up about what really caused her depression make for interesting plot points. But according to the preview, Jeong-woo will hear Hong-ran talking and learn the truth. I wanted him to hear it directly from Ha-neul.
Also, you can’t cast Park Yoon and make him a plot device. His teenage daughter arc is nice to go over. Dae-yeong is a fun character and having this single dad pursue romance against his rebellious daughter will be fun. It is the same with Hong-ran and her cute son. Why put them in the poster and promise us a secondary romance when you are going to treat them like this?
