Didn’t realize all those comments were under yours!!
Just read your comment. Nope, you did no wrong. There were no spoilers.
You can talk about whatever happened in the drama episode in a recap thread.
But if you are talking in other threads please use discretion.
The whole discussion was about whether one can discuss what happens in a preview after the episode ends. This would be considered a spoiler in a recap thread.
Also, we don’t have a way to privately message you. The site doesn’t have the feature.
Welcome to Dramabeans! Trust me, people are mostly nice here, even when debating or disagreeing.
You were fine, and I’ve enjoyed reading your comments! You can talk about anything that happened in the main part of the current episodes and any previous episodes that have already aired and no one will say peep about it. That’s why we’re all here. Welcome to DB!
The site where I’m watching this show doesn’t even have previews. 😂
Yes, welcome (back?) to Dramabeans. Wintertime is not the playful time around here–just wait for summer…it goes a little more crazy fun 🙂
We’ve been asking for a policy refresh on spoilers for a few months now–the commenting policy cited in that thread is from before javabeans’ departure (Before Covid). It’s my impression there’s been a lot less oversight on the commentariat since then about spoilers (not about personal attacks…those get removed quickly).
Your comment over on Impossible Heir was fine, and discussing previews over here on the Fan Wall is fine…but even still, it’s polite to either put it in the comments or at very least write the name of the show and the episode number you’re about to spoil right at the top of the post out of politeness so people can skip it if they want–that’s not a policy, it’s just local tradition.
LOL – yea I never really commented when I came to read recaps. I was always here for the shows that were more confusing that I needed to know basically what just happened!
Ah! A lurker-turned-commentator, just like me 😉 Welcome to the dark side, @seoully, mwahahahah!!!! Feel free to ask any other questions you have about community norms. As you probably already know, Friday’s Open Thread is a good place, as is a post here on the Fan Wall.
I know people used the phrase “slapped down” a lot yesterday, and while that can happen…it’s really not common. Look forward to hearing more of your thoughts!
🙂 you weren’t responsible at all. My brain has a hard time processing and the last place I was at just deleted the comment and when I tried to tell them the spoilers were covered the muted me, told me to see myself out and banned me (may give away where I posted if you know them) so I was worried.
Your secret is safe with me. I rarely visit any other drama site but Dramabeans. And I think you’re at no risk here even if you posted a spoiler. It just gets deleted, that’s all. It was a bit of a joke calling it a slap on the wrist that got out of hand.
Exactly! I was being tongue-in-cheek in saying I got slapped down – but I forget that there’s no tone of voice on the internet. 😆 All that happened was that the mods edited my comment, and I felt mildly annoyed with myself that I’d gotten carried away after seeing the preview and grateful to them for fixing it. It was no big deal at all.

Not only can we not private message @Seoully, but comments can’t be edited either. 😆

Thanks! Well at least I can check and remove my own comment if someone comments something concerning about the post 😀

So sorry! I feel responsible. (But also lucky I’m in a different time zone so the discussion was already over by the time I woke up 😂)
What everybody said. You were fine! It’s a great space. Stay!
