Had a tedious week and they joy when I realised it’s new episode day!

Then, the first minute had my heart in pieces.

Sad Taec is peak Taec. This episode gave us plenty.

    First of all, yes, it gave us plenty. BUT also no resolution to anything. GAH.

    May I say here though, f**k yeah, In-hae. You may have been a day late and a dollar short, but you TELL him that he hurt you and call him out on that selfishness. WTF was he even thinking?? Also, then stay by his side to show him how it’s done.

    They’re still having Do-sik sit on that goddamn fence though, only ever saying or doing things that could be interpreted a number of ways. It’s sort of pissing me off, because it’s going to come down to the line.

    Did you see the preview scenes from tomorrow? If not, I won’t go there, but if so I have questions and theories to discuss.

      YAS. I love that she called him out. He needed that smack across his unbeating heart and hear it loud and clear that it is no way to treat someone you love. It reeks of disrespect, and you would have drank enough blood in your life to recognise it. Now, stick to your promise, a pinky promise is the most sacred thing, EVER.

      Not sure if it is a good thing it is going to come down to the line, but too many shows started wrapping in the penultimate episodes, and usually left me finding most finales lacklustre.

      I have to say, Do-sik has shown me range that charms me, especially during the final scenes today, I am finally seeing what you are seeing.

      But @attiton, this episode had me mad worried. And yes, I saw the preview, and I am VERY VERY VERY worried. Send me your theories, you know I always love your thoughts!

        And are you sure for realz you want my thoughts on tomorrow? Because I have A LOT. OK I’m going to keep it to two things.

        First, I should say/repeat straight away, I do not think that there is a single way in heck that this PD is going to harm even the smallest part—not even a cell—of 2PM’s Taecyeon. This is going to be an HEA, no question.

        Second, I’m 90% sure it’s Do-sik’s voice saying, “How is that In-hae’s fault,” when Hae-won is threatening everyone because “they’re trying to kill Woo-hyeol.” This is actually another thing I’m irritated about. I see the character parallels–Do-sik is worried about a vampire killing “his” In-hae while Hae-won is worried about a human killing “her” Woo-hyeol–but they made him so awesome and her so not-awesome that I resent the comparison. They really could have done a better job with her character (or, ahem, casting). Anywho, how awesome would it be (and I think we’re going to see it) to have Do-sik protecting In-hae from Hae-won and, obviously, from hot-hot-silly-campy-delectable Man-hwi…instead of from Woo-hyeol.

        Which leads me to the main thing. I want to talk about who gets fed those drops of blood from that hand. I think it could be In-hae. I think it could be Woo-hyeol (but it seems unlikely some how??). I think it could be Do-sik. If it’s this last character, he lives. If it is not, he dies. That is my prediction.

        PS: The Butt Drama drama is going on at this same time, so sorry if I don’t make 100% sense. It’s not only not an excellent show (don’t know if you’re watching) but it’s probably going to piss people off a great deal. No fun, really. I really want to know what Lee Min-ki saw in this script to make him sign on—maybe it’s coming up later. I hope I have the fortitude to find out.

          I needed that assurance, I am sooooo afraid they will show us all the beautiful moments just so we would be pacified and be okay with some sort of bittersweetness. But, if they know how to write interactions that are healthy, and anti-toxicity, they would know how NOT to be toxic to us.

          Perhaps I do have a thing for bad boys, cos why do I always go “hmm yums” whenever they show their spikey selves. I like when Do-sik unleashed his repressed barbed side (I would like, be it be towards Man-hwi, or Woo-hyeol, and my heartbeat was abnormal when Taec raged against Man-hwi.

          But, I would actually LOVE to see that it is In-hae who will be the one coming through it all without protection from anyone, like she did today being the pillar of strength not only to Woo-hyeol, but to Fang Gang duo when she had assured them they will figure a way out, and she is such a strength to be reckon with.

          I didn’t like the casting of Hae-sun in the first episode, but I can’t quite explain why and what, perhaps she didn’t play it believable enough for me to buy the bliss they shared. As for Hae-won, not sure if it is because she could either be cold or obsessive but just doesn’t have enough stature carry either off enough. It is a role that can have so much more potential.

          So, I do wonder if having this trinity resolving their differences will be the key of everyone’s survival, linking back to the shared distant past of theirs (if In-hae is indeed somewhat linked to Hae-sun, going by the vibes and flashbacks Woo-hyeol constantly gets), and somewhat is a redemption or sorts for all 3 of them.

            I can only add that, yes, I’m still convinced the show will give us a happy ending. But also, argh, they didn’t resolve a single issue except getting Vampie back into the fold! It’ll be an action-packed finale.

          My friend, I had faith in Do-shik until the very end. He does not want to kill anyone.

          Like @PikPokPikPok I believe the answer is in everyone helping each other. In-hae is the woman to make it happen.

            I was thinking maybe she would question Do-sik why he has a weapon in his hand, and he might come clean, and our leads would take on his challenge as their own and, which eventually enable him to have a change of… heart hurhur.

            An update you guys deserve.

            @attiton: The remote died a horrible death by drowning. It was manslaughter. I was secretly counting on rice, but realised I was running out of rice too. LOL

            I dashed to the mall (thankfully this nice old man has a shop full of remote controls of any brand thinkable) 10 minutes from my place and bought a replacement. What would I do without precious internet friends like yoooouuu?

            @indyfan @parkchuna unfortch I am not from Korea, but I have an android TV which loads my Amazon Prime.

            I have a computer, and also do have a phone, but I wanna soak up all the cuteness and follow every heart beat of the show via my 55 inch TV. Cos if I can 55 inches of Heartbeat, 13 inches and 5 inches of Heartbeat just don’t cut it anymore lol.

            OH THANK HEAVENS you got a new one. I too use 6 inches of remote to summon 55 inches of Taec (and Yeom Hye-ran, Junho, Kim So-hyun, and Park Sung-hoon, among others). They require big-screen appreciation in a way that some mere demi-gods of drama do not. The 5-inch experience is reserved for rewatches on my deeply horrible bus commute.

            You totally get me when you eloquently said big-screen appreciation of Taec. I promise I am not a snob and I *CAN* make do with smaller screens, but it wouldn’t do him justice.

            My 5-inch comes in handy when I can scroll through the gifs and short clips to revisit the heart-melting parts… I hear it helps with manifesting sweet dreams.

        😒 what am I doing wrong, I use a remote? In fact, one for the tv and one for the Roku.
        My sympathies to PikPok for what had to be a kdrama moment when she saw the remote in the pail 😧

    Side note for @pikpokpikpok until everyone else catches up: it was fine, but I’m sigh feeling the feeling sigh when a drama is trying to fill out its full 16 hours…grrr.

    Man-hwi was delicious there at the end, tho. Loooovvved it.

      Oh yes, I have no idea what vampy voodoo Man-hwi casted on me towards the end, I was entranced by his smiles and smirks. Guilty… yet not guilty.

      I am not sure it felt like it was filling up the hours but I had watery eyes for most part of today’s episode, which means I felt A LOT. I even felt for Hae Won’s admission that she had never felt loved until she had to be a total beyotch to pull that stun on In Hae.

      And, the people who admitted to their “needs”.

      Today felt like a lot of moving pieces for things to unravel and surface to the top… I just hope the revelations won’t disappoint in the episodes to come.

        Woo-hyeol and In-hae spent most of the episode hiding things from one another or telling half-truths. It was very upsetting to me. Their relationship thus far was always so importantly built on just saying what they mean right there out in the open. I hope they get over it pronto.

          No, no. Not all things. Honest about their feelings for each other at least. But yes, sigh, certainly hiding some seriously important things. Give them 1 episode grace?

            I had that feeling initially too! The fact they were so open but now they have secrets didn’t sit well with me, but their monologues or dialogues with others showed they are doing it to protect each other in their own ways and… they went on to act on things that match their intention – WH wanna make sure IH isn’t alone, and chose to avoid her because he has chosen to sacrifice himself so he would never hurt her (this would counter DS’s insistence that he was hiding it from the start and it was a ruse all along). If she had doubts from her convo with DS, it seemed like the truth didn’t matter to her, and she wanna help him regardless.

            But I like that his actions would show that her resolve is a worthy one. Like it would make some sense where she would arrive at the conclusion… not like another show I just wasted time watching, where everything falls in place nicely even when it isn’t logical at times.

            At this point, the things they are hiding would cause worry or pain to the other, and the matters involved would actually each other how much they wanna protect each other, and further proved their feelings are genuine.

            I don’t know how to explain the nuances (someday I hope to achieve the eloquence of you peeps), but there was a moment when IH was in her room and when she chose to hide when there are so many things going on, cos she knows how important the house is to him and wouldn’t want him to cede it to HW and she gonna find a way, and something she said changed my perspective on it in a snap of moment. I am not sure if it made sense to me, or my glasses are too tinted at the moment.

      Thank you!! No, I do watch Kdramas here and there as time-fillers, but the one that got me started was CLOY (thank you, Covid). Over the years, I did pick up others like DotS, Kingdom, You’re Beautiful, Vincenzo, Squid Game, Big Mouth… okay I might need to rethink my statement that I am not into Kdrama. LOL.

      I started because I have a Prime subscription and it popped up as an ad at first, and then it came up on 1st page when it was first launched when I was searching for a movie to watch. I got curious cos it seems light-hearted (I usually watch heavy duty western series but needed a break). I usually drop off a series very quickly when I don’t enjoy either leads. LOL.

      I thought Taec looked familiar and recognised him from Vincenzo and thought seeing a different side of him is refreshing, and I really like how fresh and raw Won Ji-an is… like a breath of fresh air, not to mention I dig awkward girls more than perfect FLs.

      At the same time I also got started with KtL, but it didn’t get my heart pikpokpikpok nor make me refresh my app weekly like an obsessed vampire to blood.

          I do not follow BTS much but I DO know of the Army. I didn’t realise HeartBeat has such a fervent following because I do not think anyone around me has heard of it… and I certainly do not mind being Hottest lol, it sounds really peachy.

          I realise I am unleashing my chattiness here without fear of judgement, and it serves as a nice alter ego to my *ahem* supposedly pensive persona, so I can get cheeeekkyy.

          I love reading the different takes in the recaps and people pointing out the nuances I missed, and it is the only show I have rewatched the episodes (Ep11 and 12, I am looking at you. I don’t even do that with my favourite movies), and it has only happened with The Mandalorian. I hope it doesn’t break my heart in the final episodes or else I’m gonna be really bummed.

          OMG I cannot wait. Thank you for the timing so I know I wouldn’t be.. behind.

    Bienvenue! (or beanvenue 🫘) The recaps and fanwall being abuzz with love for a show is always a highlight of DB! I’ve never been into vampire stories, but Heartbeat’s mix of cuteness and comedy (with a sprinkle of camp) won me over. And who woulda thought we’d get such a beautifully developed relationship between our wonderful leads 🥰

          Not shy to say that I have started to read up on this 2PM since I also started watching KtL… so yes… I have watched an unhealthy lot of their videos, which prompted more suggestions of related videos… which added to the unhealthy amount of videos… which means I have watched said video too. /twiddles thumbs
