I am more curious, why they still get cast after flopping with so many dramas, seems like ratings don’t really matter if actor is popular

    Not really contributing anyhow, but I remember Lee Jun Ki’s dramas would flop every time. He is now like Namgoong Min, getting highly rated shows quite often.

    I do think the industry gives time to actors whom they believe would succeed, who have needed acting skills & looks.

      Lee Jun Ki is a bit of a different case imo, before flopping with many projects, he actually made name for himself and has already been a big name as far as I remember, and in his case I definitely understand it was just a big check he was offered that made him select those dramas, plus he was stuck with kind of weak actresses as partners in Scholar who walks the night and Scarlet Heart Ryo as a bonus to bad script, so it was where he just probably said to himself , what the heck, let’s just get it over with for money,lol, but even if his dramas flopped, it didn’t affect his star power, as he is loved and nobody doubts him as an actor or blames him for those dramas being bad, as obviously scripts were awful, in case of Criminal Minds, it was a still born child from the start definitely. In case of JCW, he definitely has less star power, so some of his or his company’s choices (as people start crying it was not his fault and he has no say in where he acts) definitely were to try to cement him as A-list actor, Healer was great, but it had I think many more hyped dramas airing at the same time, so ratings were not that good, K2 was supposed to be a big project to make him super star I guess, but it was just really bad and had no heart, Suspicious Partner was just mediocre, and I think the young actress who starred in that drama, who became popular, because she had one good project before that, actually didn’t star in dramas after, at least I haven’t seen her for a while, in JCW case though, he made his name with Empress Ki,and Healer is loved internationally, so he has the love of public and is a big name still, several flops will not affect his career, plus he finally redeemed himself with a good project, though I honestly don’t find myself excited for his projects anymore, so they both are popular enough to be able to afford several flops.

People whining that their oppa can’t be blamed for being in bad dramas continuously, like he hasn’t seen the script, he can’t know drama would be bad, he can do so much with the script

        I agreed, then remembered I would by no mean approve any actor (maybe except the ones I dislike) to play in Behind Your Touch. I would have asked whether they wanted to be the face of sexual assault and moved to the next script.

    I have read this somewhere but none of the people involved in the production of the drama – PD, writers, actors et al- actually aim to create a “bad” drama. It just happened to not appeal to audiences once its all said and done.

Spy Family is such an interesting anime, I watched two episodes and it was absolute delight, except from Anya being annoying in the first ep

    I looove Spy x Family! I was devastated when they stopped releasing episodes after ep 25. Good thing there’ll be new episodes dropping this weekend. I missed the Forgers!

      It is such a clever writing, they combined humor and spy story in such a clever way, I am impressed, plus Loid exudes coolness

I like when fights are realistic, the fight in ep 6 of the Kidnapping Day was cool, the one with Park Sung Hoon

Park Sung Hoon of course suits well the role of an honest policeman, but he was so good in Glory, that now I feel like his most recent dramas do not do justice

I have currently free time, so I started Jujutsu Kaisen, because saw some videos on YT saying Gojo is hot, of course I prefer brunettes when it comes to manga, so I am waiting for Geto to appear

The most difficult thing for me was to see Kim Sung Gyu acting, he, luckily never seemed to consider acting seriously, other than in musicals, but I also think he probably can act

I should say Jyungwon is not bad in acting here, but once again, as much as I find him very handsome, I think he doesn’t have actor’s visuals

Just discovered that CEO-dol mart has Hyungwon from Monsta X acting there, I have a feeling that it is a mediocre drama, plus Hyungwon is very handsome as an idol, but not sure his face suits dramas

            🤣 Well, they should start somewhere, I think some mediocre dramas are just created for newbies to practice their skills, this drama will get at least some people watching due to EXO member being there, so script doesn’t matter much, haha
