Gangnam B-Side (Drama Hangout)

Its a good thing we only get two episodes a week. It gives us breathing room to savor and think about everything that happened.

It only used a Korean song, and it wasn't created for the drama: 그렇습니까 by Flowing.

About plot holes... My main problem is in the last episode, and I have read the (excellent) recaps and comments and it seems many people think the same.

I have just finished episode 5 and I really love this show. It will be up there as one of the best of the year for me as long as it doesn't mess up the last half.
I am stopping myself from binging too many episodes per day because I will be sad when it ends, I want to savour each episode.
At the halfway point I want to say...
-the casting is fabulous.
-The acting is exceptional.
-The leads are both such fantastic, complex, well written characters.
-The way this has been filmed feels like another character in the show, which sets it apart from the norm. It's really like a piece of art.
It reminds me in some ways of The Kidnapping Day, a cleverly written script which makes you feel empathy and care for a kidnapper.
Hwaiting.

Don't tell me this drama is about a poor woman really yearning to become a singer and fights all odds to win the final battle but only to lose her voice forever..

That's a freaking tragedy. Is this based on real life story?

Love is for Suckers Chef John prepared a whole meal for his "date". I loved that he made gnocchis from 0. Ji-Wan enjoyed eating them!

Every scene in Recipe for Farewell!

Another Miss Oh When she woke up her parents to cook a meal for the ML and his colleagues. It looked delicious.

The Third Charm When the ML taught her to make a meal because she was depressed and ate only ramens. And she did it again at home.

Jeongnyeon was crazy to ruin her voice, but she obviously didn't realise she would permanently damage it. In her defence, I'd like to offer the following reasons:
(1) The auditionees were told that the "winners" would likely be Moon Okyeong's and Seo Hyerang's successors. Jeongnyeon felt that she had only one shot and had to go all out.
(2) Only lead performers earned big money, so Jeongnyeon had to become a lead. She wanted to support her family and take them out of poverty. She felt guilty about abandoning her family, so she had to be successful to make everything worthwhile.
(3) Jeongnyeon felt that she was behind Heo Yeongseo's abilities and was desperate to catch up somehow.
(4) Hyerang sunbae gave Jeongnyeon "advice" on how to improve in a short time and Jeongnyeon had no reason to question it or her. In South Korea's hierarchical society, and particularly at that time, you wouldn't challenge or defy a sunbae.
(5) Jeongnyeon was hurt at Hong Jooran's rejection and would've wanted to win the audition to prove Jooran made the wrong choice.
(6) Jeongnyeon probably didn't eat at the cave or drink water, so she wasn't thinking rationally. Plus getting a fever didn't help matters.
(7) Jeongnyeon is only 19, so her brain and reasoning aren't fully developed. She probably thought she was bullet-proof and would never have thought that she was damaging her vocal cords.

Jeongnyeon has to suffer the consequences of her actions and it'll be interesting to see how the final two episodes play out.
