Its a good thing we only get two episodes a week. It gives us breathing room to savor and think about everything that happened.

I'm also loving JCW and BIBI! Their chemistry is wild! makes me want to watch Worst of Evil again!

@johahaeyo I enjoy their chemistry as well. I skipped Worst of Evil but maybe I will watch it sometime after Gangnam B-Side episodes are all released.

I wasn’t very impressed with The Worst of Evil story-wise after the first watch. But JCW’s performance was phenomenal (so was all other actors’), so I gave it a second watch and then came to love it. Then a third and a fourth watch back to back. And now it’s in my top 10 of all time. But the OTP I root for is always JCW and Im Semi, not him and Bibi. I know I’m in the minority. But that falling apart relationship is one reason the show stayed with me longer and tugged at my heartstrings.

Healer - JCW is fantastic in this and The Worst Of Evil. It really makes me wonder why he chooses roles like his character in Welcome to Sandalri which is pretty average and bland in comparrison. I wonder if that was his mortage payment drama?

@MrsBuckwheat JCW once said he very often chose a project based on whom he would be working with. And as far as I know, he said he wouldn’t do action dramas anymore after K2, because it was too physically demanding. I guess that’s why he has signed up for all sorts of shows. But after quite a few years staying away from action shows, I guess he missed it and came back with The Worst of Evil. He said he wanted to do actions when his body was still capable. Personally, watching The Worst of Evil, Revolver (movie) and now Gangnam B Side in a row, I need to see his romcom persona for a break.

I like how fast paced and gritty the story is. A lot has happened in the first four episodes of the show. And a lot more can happen as we weed out the little fish in this big cesspool our leads find themselves in.

Episode 3-4:

How many lives Gil-Ho has? He's like a cat. I wish to know him a little bit more. How he ended to work for Madam Baek.

Poor Dong-Woo, he needs to fight the whole system and now to find his daughter. It's sad he missed her struggles, there were a lot of cigarette burns.

Jae-Hee's plan was very clear... you got an important video, just hidding won't be enough, you need to do something with it. She didn't contact Gil-ho to warn him, tell him the truth...nothing. But she asked money to a girl?

Seo-Jin landed in this mess and is trying her best.

I hope one day he gets a really good script for a rom com as I think he would be excellent and as you say it would be a nice change.

I don't usually watch this type of gangster genre stuff.

Is is worth a try?

2024 seems to be the year of promising starts, really good first halves and then losing steam and the plot in the second half.
If you don't like blood, gore and violence this would be a show to skip.
I would've actually preferred a show based on JCW and Bibi's characters as they were far more interesting. When they were not front and centre the show lost a lot of its intensity and became run of the mill, cliched plot lines we have all seen elsewhere.

The end

The second half was quite disapointing. When they finally got together to stop the villains, they were completely separated during the second part. It didn't really make sense and it was quite disapointing. It was more about revenge. The plot to create a drug and the treatment on human beings was quite weird.

Ye-Seo was quite ridiculous. She took bad decisions after bad decisions.

They kinda forgot to develop their characters. After 8 episodes, we know nothing about Seo-Jin. She was so underused, the same for Ji-Su.

The actors were good in their role.
