So I have assuaged my Seven Day Queen grief with Special Inspector Mr. Jo, and, beanies, IT IS AMAZING. You already know, I know, but now you know that I know too. It is AMAZING. I’m not done with it yet, but I love everyone in it so very much.
Melt Me had a few impressive moments, but I ended up fast-forwarding most of it. I wasn’t as drawn in as I hoped to be, but I did find WJA compelling a few times, so I’m not dropping it yet. I’m also generally a big fan of Yoon Se-ah, Won-hae Kim, and Jeon Soo-kyeong, so I’ll stick around and see them a bit. But still, disappointed. Like, I expected to be disappointed, but I’m disappointed that that expectation came true.
I also have this new theory that I enjoy shows more when I binge them. And because I expect Tale of Nokdu to be one of the best shows this round, I’m going to test that theory on it. Which means no Nokdu for me yet. Waaaah. I thought I couldn’t wait until 30 September, and now I’ll have to wait weeks and weeks. Please send me good thoughts as I cope in this difficult time.
Joseon Marriage Agency: Subs are up, and I’m going to give it a try. I know a lot of people were disappointed, but I often end up liking really lame shows, so heh maybe that will come in handy again.
Only one episode in, and Nokdu is very promising. I think it will be worth the wait. Such self discipline!
Only a quick FF through last week’s episodes of Melt Me, and it totally met my expectations for disappointment. It’s over for me. I hope all those good actors and actresses will show up again soon in a better drama. They deserve it.
Special Labour Inspector Jo IS AMAZING! I LOVED it. I watched it a few days ago. Why do these POWER actors always get unhyped or secondary roles??? Or did show do very well inside of Korea? I hope it did.
“I also have this new theory that I enjoy shows more when I binge them.”
I have had this theory for the past decade and I stick by it firmly.
Oh I forgot to comment on the last one!
I don’t say I end up liking the lame ones. Just that I most often like shows that beanies haven’t liked much. And vice versa. The vice versa unfortunately occurs much more
Ratings started out low, around 4%, and increased, finishing at approximately 8%. Overall it did slightly better than its competition MY FELLOW CITIZEN in the Monday-Tuesday slot.
I usually live watch but binged Special Inspector Mr. Jo to catch up to the finale episodes. I felt like it dragged in the latter part but it’s still a really good comedy and it felt like watching a superhero drama with a cute Ahjussi (KDW was adorable!).
Thanks for correcting me. He IS adorable haha. You can watch Coffees Prince (10+ years younger and adorable again), The Guest (less adorable and more nerve wrecking for him) and Along With The Gods movies (entertaining and heartwarming, he has a short part in the 1st one but then has more screen time later).
oh sorry—i was totally not correcting you!! i was just emphatically agreeing heheh. “KDW *was* adorable” works just as well. He is and was and i hope will be 😉 i never really got into Coffee Prince, but lately I’ve been wondering if I should try it again. I was really new to dramas when I first saw it and it didn’t click with me. but im acclimated now and may just love it <3 <3
Oooh keep me posted on Joseon Marriage Agency ~ i was going to try it but the negative reactions had me trying Nok du instead… (I did enjoy Nok Du, but I like your binge theory. I’ve been struggling with slump land so I’m working on getting back into steady schedules of couple episodes a week of shows)
i’ll keep you posted! i watch some cheesy stuff, though, so grain of salt 😀 i use to binge alll the time, then was mostly only live-watching…i feel like i need a sort of balance… and i think there are some show i want the binge-feeling for…so im trying that with Nokdu… we shall see!
First, I need to watch Special Inspector, because, Kim Kyung Nam.
Second, I used to binge a lot, then I stopped bingey, and this year I’ve binged several shows, and … I feel like it just makes me more aware of their flaws because I watch them all in one go. Lol.

I’m the opposite. I notice flaws more when I live watch and have time to analyse episodes while waiting for new ones.
And yes you must watch Inspector Jo!

I meant to when it aired but I don’t think I had time!!
